Great comparison video and demo. Thank you! I'm wondering about switching back from my E-II EX NT into LTD Snakebyte and your video moves me one step closer to making the final decision. ;-)

Nice guitars, I love Vs and explorers, but an esp LP is my only best body shape choice. I agree with you about emg pickups, I have esp eclipse with 81 60 set and it sounds good but sterile on heavy metal crunch stuff.
I absolutely love my Snow White Snakebyte. Now that you mention it, the action on it is pretty high. I fell in love with the guitar when I played it at my local shop and the action was so low playing it was so easy
@@ts4114 not at all. But I would caution against its price tag for a beginner. It’s not a cheap guitar just to find out one won’t stick to playing. When I went from a high action guitar to the Snakebyte it was like playing a guitar on easy mode. I would be sure I was happy with the explorer shape and weight before splurging on it too.
Holy camoli what a fanastic comparison! Love the format and thanks for showing the various sitting positions. Is there any issues for a semi-beginner with the Snakebyte focused on rhythm? Especially the intonation and high action?
I have the Snakebyte and the setup was horrible out of the box. Very high action and bad intonation. Also, the toggle switch is shorting out already (only had the guitar about a year). I have to switch it in place multiple times and do it very slowly until it finally activates the pickup I want. Another problem is that the output is diminished significantly sometimes. It's like the active pickups are low on battery but that can't be the issue because it does it after a fresh battery change. It also goes through batteries like crazy (and that' with me unplugging the guitar from the amp every time I get done using it). I have to change my battery about once every 4 months, and I'm not a heavy player. I'm thinking maybe a wiring issue? I also have a few small spots where there is a "lumping" under the finish of the guitar (I have the same Kuiu camo finish as in the video). It's kind of like a bubble in the finish but instead of being rounded it's more like a lump. About the size of an eraser head (although not raised up that high, it's about as thick as a penny). I also lightly bumped the guitar against my amp due to the size of the guitar and odd shape (not being used to the explorer shape) and it took quite a large chunk out of the finish, so it's not very thick or durable. Overall the guitar definitely isn't worth $1800 in my opinion. I do like the Hetfield pickups, and the finish looks great imo. But all those issues I listed combined with the fact that it's virtually impossible for me to play while sitting really make me wish I'd have gone with a different guitar.
Interesting video Man Bun Metal Head. I'm wondering, how come you've never done any videos with schecters? This year I became a schecter convert. They are sublime for the price!
Honestly, the last time I played a Schecter (10+ years ago) I wasn't a fan. But I'm willing to give them another try. I'll see if I can get my hands on one.
Is there any way you could do a video on specs on your warmoth v man . Awesome color did you build it yourself or have warmoth do most of the work would like to build one of my own .
I think the KHV sounds better in the mix than the snakebite. It's less abrasive and seems to gel better. I'm not a guitar guy, so I don't know if that's the pickups or what's responsible for that.
I would assume they arr designed that way from the factory as kirk is a lead guitarist so needs his solos heard crystal clear and james needs something that can handle gain
It is. The Het Set pickups are very harsh. Hetfield is the only one who plays them and they sound good, due to his rig. Everyone else sounds better with 81/60 pickups
Thank you for addressing the finish on the neck! Not enough people do that it is important to me.
what an amazingly done video!
for me, i think a 24 fret snakebyte would make it a all in one beast
This is such a great comparison! This is how reviews and comparisons should be done!
Now that's how you do a review. Thank you so much I really enjoyed the video and I'm closer to getting my kh-v metallic gold as well :)
Wow great video for real! Never seen a good comparison like yours!

Great video!
Anybody who judges you for enjoying Load or Reload, should grow the F up... they are undeniably, excellent albums.
You have both been judged and found wanting by the Metal Gods. Load and Reload are objectively awful.
@@JD-vj4godisagree good albums, they were screwed either way, how do you follow up on one of the greatest and best selling albums of all time

No metal head can be that creative like Kirk on that album
These are both superb guitars .
Great demo dude .
Proper review! Thanks!!
Great video. Thorough without waffling on. Subbed. Btw, you missed one "T" from Hammett in the title ;)

love the sound of them both , i think the iron cross is also a riff beast and also nice solo voicings

Also learned guitar with Metallica's first four albums! It develops that right hand pick attack for sure!

Wonderful video and detailed explanation but le t be honest: the guitars sound the same
I learned how to play the exact same way lol
I do not think the frets on these models are stainless steel frets. If it's the case then it's uber awesome
Does not have stainless steel frets
Ι watched the whole video twice and could not the headstock!
Both guitars are cool, the price is such a turn off.
damn those emgs sound bad.
glad i’m not the only one. I feel like james’ sound way too compressed, almost wet. Wish he would’ve kept 81’s on his
