Ride Down Sellicks Hill, South Australia

- Well before the British colonization of South Australia, the Sellicks Hill area (along with most of the Adelaide plains area and down the western side of the Fleurieu Peninsula), was inhabited by the Kaurna people.
It is now understood that many colonial travelling routes, and then roads, were overlaid onto the existing Aboriginal tracks; obvious, easy and already existing routes. In the Victory Road we have a prime regional example of this. There are many colonial references to the Aboriginal travelling route from Ngurlongga to Wirramulla (‘native track’ from Noarlunga to Encounter Bay). Part of it was included on the 1840 McLaren map of subdivision in the Willunga Basin and further north (Districts C & B).

Hi Amy and thanks for stopping by, this clip was one the way back heading to the city from doing a southern coastal ride and at the point of this clip we were around 25 minutes from home. It's nice along there though and did you notice the big ( statue ) ??? on the side of the hill.

no one woukld notice it I think but in life it is huge and it is the Nan Hai Pu Tuo Temple a very cool place to visit by the way

Hi Terry, this is on the way back home after a coastal run down the deep south and I like this run very much. Coming down the hill the cam does not do it justice for the views of the sea and land scape. Stay warm and keep safe.

I live on the east coast of America. Few roads have elevation to over see the water. Most of it is sea level. Then the west coast, seems to have cliffs and roads that look amazing. Thanks for sharing this ride. Love the scenery
Hi buddy this run at the point of the video is around 20 minutes from home and it is south of the city by well over an hour, closer to home the coastal line drops down to sea level. It is a very nice run to do this one and the views are awesome the further one heads south. Thanks for stopping by and stay safe.

Yes it was on the good old BoltBucket. It was an awesome day so we did a coastal run down south of the city, it is a nice run this one I enjoy doing it.....keep warm buddy and stay safe 🙂

Nar the 650 went a fair time ago and was replaced with a M109-R but I still have my Ninja ZX 14-R. And it is nice around there L really like it. Thanks for stopping by.
