Bringing back wonderful memories of my childhood, this is one of the most pleasurable recordings I have heard of this delightful piece. The recording is striking, capturing all of the satisfying nuances of Debussy's clever creativity. Thank you for this lovely contribution. Best wishes from Belgium.
Why would Disney get involved with something that is connected to racism? Wikipedia says the Golliwog doll is characterised by black skin, eyes rimmed in white, red lips and frizzy hair. It is considered as racist by others along with pickaninnies, minstrels, mammy figures, and other caricatures of black Africans. The golliwog has been described by the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia as "the least known of the major anti-Black caricatures in the United States".
Was wondering when this topic would be brought up. Agree with Nick07900 - That's the TITLE OF THE SONG! Long before people started getting all huffy about words. No question about anything here.
@@gailbrevittlenton6667 Wrong, mon ami! Gollywogg is an insensitive caricature of the purely racist minstrel shows of yesteryear. The word and its derivatives are still used to slur black and brown people, by clueless, racist and otherwise cruel and barbarous whites. So don't go excusing the fact that it is what it is, a vile racist slur.
I love the way the part at 0:51 is arranged.

Nice work here, it actually sounds as to the era as when it would have been recorded kudos on the mix
This has Disney short written all over it.

Wow! chaming~
Transposed to F major.
(: That's Correct
i like it better this way!
@@mm9music why though?
@@Marina-pe1gx it’s an easier key for orchestras to play
@@THEEAPOSTLEPAULYJ that’s true
Why is it transposed?
To ensure other instruments in the orchestra can play it. E flat is very difficult to play on String instruments.
Having played this on the piano, I personally find this transposed piece a bit odd, However the orchestra plays it so well!

Very nice! (1st comment)
Is anyone else here thinking Mouse Trap?
黑娃娃的步態舞
Would sounded better with woodwind as the melody, to my taste
Umm that’s titles a bit questionable
That is the title of the song, golliwog was a popular doll in debussy's time
