I’ve been trying to get my crew mates to watch a few of your videos to get better and stop doing things like anchoring and leaving the ship, leaving lights on, and the one that really drives me nuts parking the ship directly facing the island. Thanks for the guide. Did my first session and learned a valuable lesson. Watch out for barrels floating out there, never go through through them, as a gunpowder barrel taught me that. Which lead me to wonder, could you have some gunpowder kegs on board to throw in the water if someone is chasing you in a straight line? I sailed right into it and it exploded, so that tells me they could be used as sea mines. Maybe keep them in a rowboat so the chance of a cannon ball hitting them is less? Hitting the end of a ship is harder than aiming for the center.

Solo is harder but with a start like this, you know what to expect...

Just go straight to the nearest fortress. Grab a storage crate, cannon ball crate, and wood crate for reps. Pull up to the fort and loot the pully crates for food, as well as the cannon ball barrels. You'll leave off with over 100 cannon balls and plenty of great food. Then, store any food and planks you picked up with the storage crate but keep the cannon balls in it. Now you have 2 cannon ball crates to place next to your cannons for rapid reloading regardless of which side you're on. Place the wood crate you bought by your helm for quick wheel and mast repairs. Then go off and ruin someone's voyage.

Each cannonball barrel gives you 50 balls and you can easily get a full stack of mangos and a couple pineapples. This strat may take a while but definitely pays off.

I’ve been a solo slooper since the game came out and at the start of 2020 I had finally found someone as good as me and someone I got along with well. Since that time we have grinded the gold curse got the full dark adventure set ship clothes and all. We now play on a galleon with 4 people all skilled somewhat equally. For any new players the game is completely different with friends your progress will skyrocket take some time to find people this game is designed for a team or a duo there are many places and communities to find a crew and good luck to anyone and I hope your adventure goes well.
note I’m not saying you can’t solo sloop it’s possible and I’ve done it longer than most but I do recommend finding at least one friend who is committed to the game as it completely changes how you go about the session.

I really don't think the glowing cosmetics or lanterns make a difference. I always spot ships before the glow even loads in, and I play at max settings. You can see the ship long before you see the glow of anything else.

Another way to stop your boat without anchoring is to raise the sails and then harpoon both sides of the boat to the water assuming you are near an island.

One other thing that I add when solo sloping is a row boat for emergency escapes or misdirection plays.

Question: If you stock up your ship barrels with supllies from the crates & you sink, don't all your supplies you've gathered obviously get lost forever? If so, what's the point of filling your crates If it's going to be a loss when there's a possibility that you'll sink?
If your enemies get It, that's really sucks, but If neither you or you enemies get It, It doesn't feel mostly worst but kinda the same. I just wanna know what actually happens please, I haven't found any solid stated answer about It anywhere.

I keep my supplies in my crates only if I have a abundance and can afored to lose so if u have 400 cannon balls don't be afraid to waste 50 and put them closer to your cannons

  • @Tuck213
    @Tuck213 3 года назад

I never organise my barrels. There aren't that many different cannonballs anyway, so it's not very confusing. I always empty storage crates though, otherwise you practically give your enemy free supplies when you sink.

Talking about food the best thing that can happen as solo pirate is to get attacked by a megalodon. You can get the equivalent to 10 normal food sources pretty much

  • @julien2084

Good advice overall although i personally think turning off the lights and avoiding glowing sails is overrated. It makes sense on paper and might help you not getting spot by new or inattentive crews but it’s not going to fool a dedicated pvp crew sailing for targets, which are the ones you want to avoid. Maybe if the nights were darker.

Just started playing today (4/15/2022). I got a lot of loot from a shipwreck, including a Reaper's chest. after everything else was sold off I sailed the Reaper's Hideout to sell the chest, only to be attacked by a ghost ship and have my ship sunk. The Reaper's chest went down with the ship. Great start to my Sea ot Thieve's journey.

@@reaper3409 I know you can’t brig on the sloop. They really should allow the pirate that’s been on the crew the longest the ability to brig on the sloop. Open crew sloop you can find some real jerks that ruin things. That’s why I solo most of the time.

Late but... its often actually better to put the good food in the bottom barrel.... most pirates only use the top and just put worms and the likes in the bottom... i put cooked meat and such down there too.... last time i had other pirates board and kill me.. i got back to slice them while they were munching bananas instead of my fish

PvP ( Pirate vs Pirate ) is the meta.
If you can solo-kill most Crews, you are good to go and can constantly take the supplies of your enemys on their own ship.
Sneaking also allows you to bypass your lack of crewpower, snipe Megakeks at opportune moments etc.
It may not allow you to sink everything instantly regardless but certainly to rowboat into the distance with a Legendary Chest etc. Not all wins are unlocked by complete domination.

700 h here, i agree with everything, there are good tips, the light tip too, but i have to say its uselass vs good player, yea if u glow like a x mas tree guys can see u better, but a player like me see u, if u are dark or glowing, they see u and its not heavy, just saying, the fish tip is "ok" becouse u can just run to a isle and hunt animals, its faster and need smaller skill in fishing things, pinapple is not a 100% its like 90% ater all a good video for new player and solo player
