  • This is a Ry Cooder tune from the Long Rider soundtrack. My friend Karen Flett has been asking me to learn this tune for ages, and I finally did. It's really catchy and I love it!
**Edited to say that it's likely not written by Ry Cooder, and that it's also known as Waiting For The Federals."
Jeremy is on the 12 string for this one.

I don't think Ry Cooder wrote this and it is also named Waiting for the Federals. I could be wrong.

Recorded in 1926 by "Fiddling Sam Long of the Ozarks". It's also called "Shoot The Turkey Buzzard" and, on the other side of the US Civil War, "Running From The Federals".

Great old tune. Yes, it's also called "Waiting for the Federals," and I've heard it called "Georgia Boys."
