  • Hi again! This is my last cover of this Abba series from the album 'Voyage'.
I love this piece! It is an "Anthem" for me and probably the last song of ABBA as a group. I hope you like it!
I play on a Roland FP-10 stage digital piano.

    Lyrics
If I ever write my ode to freedom
It will be in prose that chimes with me
It would be a simple ode to freedom
    Not pretentious, but with dignity
I would like to think that freedom is
    More than just a word
In the grand and lofty language
Odes to freedom often go unheard
If I ever wrote my ode to freedom
Being privileged and spoiled for choice
Then I fear that you would be suspicious
Of the cause to which I'd lend my voice
It's elusive and it's hard to hold
    It's a fleeting thing
That's why there is no ode to freedom
    Truly worth remembering
    I wish someone would write
An ode to freedom that we all could sing

Wow! Very nice. ABBA sure knocked it out of the ballpark with this one too.

How lovely is this, You make it look absolutely effortless even though I can see the stretch in the notes. Gave me goose pimples big time. Thank you for sharing 👍

I'm glad I conveyed this feeling to you. The melody of the song flows, but the rhythm is quite strange. Thank you so much!

Well done! Quite a complex beat in this song, shifting between 3/4 and 4/4. No marching band can play it. :-)

Thank you! Exactly, even though it was easier for me to count in eighth (shifting between 8/8 and 6/8)!

Love this song so much. I wrote an SATB choir arrangement of it. It's on my channel if you'd like to hear it. Your piano version is beautiful!

Wow, you did the whole series of ABBA! So much respect and love🧡. When you say this is an Anthem for you, and porbably the last song of ABBA as a group, and your playing itself make me feel quite emptional. - 💜👍👍🎁🎄🎀musical hugs, Miho

Thank you Miho! This is probably the most emotional song of ABBA. It speaks directly to my soul!! BTW I love your dancing queen vocal looping! Great job!

Nice arrangement, but I feel there's one chord progression amiss?

      Thank you! Which chord?

      @@PianowithPano
At 0.33 root note in the left hand ought to be A flat, same when you repeat the phrase again later in the piece, arpeggio then to suit.

You have great ear! Well actually is the same chord (Eaug). I played the tonic note as a base but it would have been better inverted (G#-C-E) . Thanks for your note, but now I can't change it!

@@PianowithPano Yeah, I noticed you played the tonic, but when I listen to ABBA's version, the bass is the A flat I think - either way, your arrangement still sounds fantastic throughout.
