- More than 60 Just Stop Oil protesters have been arrested after the activist group carried out a demonstration in Westminster on Monday morning.
Demonstrators laid down and sat on the floor of every corner of Parliament Square after marching around the central London road in orange hi-vis jackets.
Many of the protesters were then placed into handcuffs by police after refusing to move off the floor.
The Metropolitan Police posted on social media: “Officers have arrested 62 Just Stop Oil activists who were in the road in Parliament Square”.
TalkTV’s Peter Cardwell is joined by Just Stop Oil spokesperson Alex De Koning as they furiously disagree on the protest.
Peter: “One of the biggest polluters in the world is China - why don’t you protest there and see how far you can get?”
Alex: “That’s honestly such a childish response Peter.”

A lot of wind turbines have to use a diesel generator to start them up. Wind turbine blades cannot be recycled & end up in landfill, thus polluting the land (and use fossil fuels and petrochemicals for their manufacturing processes etc).

My eldest daughter is a uni type. She has an open university degree in science and is a very unpleasant woman. She looks down her nose at me and her younger siblings. Life is better for not associating with her. Its been nearly seven years of peace.

The young lad is not old enough to realise we have had bad rain days, hot sunny days and harsh winters for the decades I have been alive, its normal and called climate change as it has been for hundreds of years.
One of the long term drivers of climate change is CO2 concentrations.

You shouldn't be laughing, what he is saying is actually really serious, and we are heading toward catastrophe due to global boiling. It was only just in August that I actually died TWICE from boiling to death in my sweat. Luckily, however, they were those rare cases of 24 hours deaths, so thankfully I did recover from each terminal event. Unfortunately my goldfish weren't so lucky; it was so hot that the poor things couldn't breathe in their pond; I tried CPR and mouth to gill resucitation but alas, all to no avail. I gave them a decent burial and they're both now in little boxes on my mantlepiece, where they shall be remembered forever. Dumb and Dumber, who so tragically gave their lives to warn the rest of us.

Just ask JSO how much oil is in a wind turbine. No oil would mean that we could not lubricate the gearboxes of the wind turbines. The big ones need about 10 gallon and it has to be changed just like the oil in a car. Lets not forget EV cars have a gearbox as well and they needs oil.

I'm gay, I marched on the roads and yes I held up traffic - just long enough for the press to take their photos. Difference is, at the time, we'd have been beaten up by the police. Meanwhile we did what we could to change the law - not me personally, it took clever people to do that. There's a photo of me lying down infront of a number 12 bus in Trafalgar Square, also talking to Boy George at Parliament and other things. Difference is, we aimed to win people over, not piss them off. And we won.

Retirement pension is suspended when you go to prison. This means that you won't actually receive any pension payments whilst you are in custody. If you have been held on remand but are not convicted of a criminal offence, you will receive all your pension back payments in a lump sum when you are released.
