It isn’t a white saviour trope. Eywa in the end and the people where the savours of their own world, jake was just the “vessel” that eywa used to have a “insider” in the rda troupes, eywa is the true saviour in the end, jake couldn’t have done it without the deity and the people themselves. Also no the queue doesn’t get them pregnant, it’s just a neural link with the world around them, they bind when mating just to be emotionally closer to eachother:)

It's the soul inside the body that matters but I guess these days It's ok to hate and be racist against white people.

Tsaheylu (connecting the ‘braids’) is the bond, the connection of mind and soul. You see one another on a much deeper level.
They have offspring much like humans do apparently, but the tsaheylu elevates that to a new level- I think it’s a lifelong bond, as Neytiri said, they are mated for life

16:00 Imagine the level of intimacy that making tsaheylu between two Na'vi must be! Understanding the feeling of the other person and so on. It's something we could never understand!

  • @WreckingWood
    @WreckingWood Год назад +32

Actually it wasn't Jake Sully saving the Na'vi, it was Eywa working through Jake to fight the humans. Through the neurological connection she used the Avatar program back on them to influence the humans.

Just letting you know that, at the moment, the plan is for 3 more sequels after _The Way of Water,_ for a total of 5 movies. The 3rd movie was filmed back-to-back with _The Way of Water_ and is scheduled for December, 2024.

I didn’t know this. That’s great I loved the first and second one. Hopefully the plot stays good cuz I assume the visuals will be the priority

@@nickgrisso1416 FYI: Cameron and the the other writers wrote and planned out all the sequels before even fiming anything. I'm sure they still change stuff from feedback etc, but the major stuff is all planned out. 2 and 3 were originally 1 movie but the script got so large they just made 2 movies out of it.

One thing I don't get about judging stereotypical characters, do people forget those stereotypes exist because actual people are like that irl?

Avatar is about seeing others people for who they are in the inside and NOT their race. I’m black and I never mind Jake becoming Toruk Macto. The planet in itself is a character that’s been working on Jake since the beginning of the film. The planet sensed the human destructive threat and used Jake to defeat them. In a deleted dream hunt scene it’s clear that the planet Eywa was using Jake and his insider military skill to defeat the humans. This is why Toruk attacked him earlier in the film because that was actually Toruk trying to kill Jake because Toruk chose him on behalf of the Mother Planet.

I seen so many people make relations to Neytiri saying they will chose you by trying to kill you and that toruk wasn't going after Neytiri and seemed to be aiming for Jake and also that Neytiri tried to kill jake but ended up choosing him also.

Avatar was briefly surpassed by Endgame as the highest-grossing film of all time, but it reclaimed the title via a rerelease in China. (Personally, I think rereleases shouldn't count, but I also think Avatar deserves it more than Endgame.)

I really like how the navi have a close relationship with nature and the fact that they can communicate with Eywa and bond with the animals
I enjoyed the movie a lot but a felt bad for tsu'tey, he didn’t deserve what happened to him

I really like this movie. The story is resonant, the work put into the world and language is fantastic, the editing is tight, the film-making is top notch, the performances are largely great, the music hits pretty hard...This is a fantastic movie. One of my favorites.
I very much disagree that this movie is "Just X but in space" especially when X is different per person that says it which means all that really means is people are thinking of tropes. This movie brought things that are novel, if not on its own (the freaking tech used to make it I'm looking at you) then in execution.
There's a reason this film stands out as distinct even though the common talking point has been that it's just like other movies or just a popcorn film.
    I love this movie.

a very old story, not particularly original, but absolute top tier James Cameron world building and execution. Not sure I am interested in seeing the 2nd since it sounds much the same. You should check out another Sam Worthington film Clash Of The Titans. His acting is much the same (he's a good shouter), but a great film with an excellent cast! Release the Kracken!

I like to think of this film as a really, really well-made pizza: something that maybe doesn't have the most "nutritional value," and the overall concept is generally familiar, but that doesn't mean it's not still quite enjoyable and worthwhile to experience.

The first Avatar is definitely a white savior movie. Although, I think the sequel - Avatar: The Way of Water - somewhat fixes this issue.

Jake was the only one who knew how to beat the humans so it makes sense that a collaborator would be the right person to lead them. Also the whole point of the movie is to look beyond people’s race and see who they are inside. Avatar is not for shitlibs. Avatar is a leftist movie. It’s an anti-colonial, anti-imperialist, third world liberation movie. It’s also about true spirituality and regaining the severed connection we have with Gaia and the sacred network of mycelium we have here on earth but a blind devil like you wouldn’t know anything about that lol

Great movie to me when I first saw it in theaters but now I feel it’s the most overrated movie in existence. The plot is…ok yet it’s poorly executed. All the movie seemingly has going for it is CGI, which despite how amazing it is to me it’s bad when critics & audiences love it yet only talk about how amazing it looks to the point they even say the looks saved bad writing. Having seen similar reviews for the sequel with some people who loved it literally saying “the plot doesn’t matter only the visuals do” I skipped seeing it in theaters.
