It was released in late 1999, right around the same time as Make Yourself by Incubus. Some of the songs were re-worked and re-recorded for their major label debut album. I don't know of any other albums by them, but there could be one more.

Incubus, Hoobastank, Audiovent...I'm so glad we got three SoCal bands with a similar and great Melodic Alt-Rock sound!
Like seriously, this sounds almost exactly like Incubus, but I'm not even mad! I'm just glad to have one more band and a few more albums in this awesome style.

Incubus is one of my favorite bands and knew some members were directly related but never appreciated Audiovent until I heard this song. Reminds me of the Make Yourself days of Incubus! :)
Malesa Odom When I first came across Audiovent(Dirty Sexy Knights In Paris was reviewed in. British rock/metal magazine) I had no idea of the band's links to Incubus but loved the album regardless, went out and got it as soon as it came out here in the UK and in all those years since it is still one of my most played album. This album has some belting songs, One that I love which isn't so often talked about is Stalker, it's a masterpiece of creative, sarcastic songwriting, and musical creativity, it's up there with the best on DSKIP.

So good. The dynamics, the rhythm changes, the power, and that little dose of Incubus - people who didn't hear that album have no idea what they're missing.
Extremely reminiscent of Incubus and their style between Interstellar and Morning view. Great stuff.
Anson Flavel well, the lead signer is brandon boyd's brother and the guitarist is brother of Mike Enziger. Shame this band didnt work out. I really like what I hear.

In 2002 I was 14 and had a huge crush on this girl I was sat next to in an after-school ASL class. She told me about this band she was crazy about, 'Vent'. I went home and looked them up and found this song, instantly loved it. I stopped talking to her after that semester ended but I still come back and listen to this album now and then, always reminds me of her and that time of my teenage years.
Must've hurt a bit now and then, stay strong bud. Hahah
@@captainmunch13 Haha :) not so much thankfully, she was dating a different guy anyway. One time he came and picked her up after class and he gave me some side-eye when she hugged me but I was never the person to seriously try to be with someone who was already in a relationship.

I maintain a reef aquarium in morning view studios where incubus recorded their first album. Now i think incubus is o.k. but i always thought audiovent rocked a bit harder, more to my liking and i'm sure others agree.

Watched this video on MTV back in 2002 with my friend Travis. I was impressed by the liquid light show effects. He ended up buying their album. Then they disappeared.

The guitar work and effects use were just like Mike's, especially during Make Yourself. I'm not criticizing, I wish there was still more being played like this. Also the song structuring is spot on with incubus, but same with a lot of other bands.

To be fair though, Audiovent were awesome in their own right, Dirty Sexy Knights In Paris is a great album, probably one of the most underrated albums of the last 20 year's or so. Definitely a shame they only put One album out, would love to have heard more of these guys
Zack Holloway and therein Zack you kind of shit yourself in the foot with the "but there were others" comment. Audiovent were not an were never an Incubus cover band, but for the band members familial links to Incubus have been publicised then Audiovent would have been labelled more like Hoobastank and Trapt rather than Incubus, the similar beats and time changes are common of a lot of the post grunge/alt scene so shouldn't be specifically tied to Incubus on the basis of biological links
Jamie, if you like Audiovent you should also check out bands like Trapt, I have a feeling you would like them :)
