    "Love Hate Love" at The Moore (1994) might be Alice in Chains' best song performed live. It captures that brief period in Layne's career where he was at his peak physically (before the bad times got to him). He is also surprisingly good at working a crowd.

    Watching this shit bums me out..layne is DYING here!! He has his eyes closed and nodding the whole time and he lets Jerry carry the chorus so he doesn't accidentally mix up the word which he almost does..after he almost mixes up the chorus lines layne stops singing any of the chorus that doesn't repeat (down in a hole ect ect).. as à recovering addict myself I can see what layne is pushing thru..even tho he is slowly dying before our very eyes he still sounds like layne! His issues never diminished his actual voice even tho it did effect how seldom they performed live..im glad he was able to pull it together to make this memory not only for the fans but for himself n his brothers! Those guys didn't get to see much of layne after this show before he passed away..

    The line Layne sings: “l have been guilty of kicking myself in the teeth” is sadly ironic because this show was towards the end of Laynes life and career due to his addiction and he had lost most of his teeth, which gave him a lisp.
    Also, at 3:41 you can see Jerry (long hair) turn around and smile at band mates. This is because they didn’t think Layne would be able to sing well and hit the high notes due to his condition. When Layne nails the first one, Jerry turns around and smiles as to say “see, he’s still got it!”

    • @puppetmaster8551
      @puppetmaster8551 10 месяцев назад

      He had not lost most of his teeth here that is a myth, you can literally get glimpses of them throughout the show and they did another show after these where you can see his teeth. His teeth obviously weren’t healthy so he did all he could do hide them but it’s a total myth that he was missing most of his teeth, he would’ve never done this show if that was the case and if he did he’d sound terrible. Also he was alive 6 more years after this so he wasn’t really super close to the end of his life, he still had time to turn his life around at this point. He obviously wasn’t in great health but people really over exaggerate shit when talking about Layne and this show

    • @bruno3778
      @bruno3778 10 месяцев назад

      @@puppetmaster8551 you’re right, I wasn’t there nor did I know him personally, and maybe that is a myth, but it was reported by several people that were close to him and interviewers that his teeth were rotting and he was letting himself go by this point. This was pretty much the end of his musical career, and yes, he lived 6 more years after this but he was basically a hermit and wasn’t seen much after this, by his family or band members. So I the grand scheme of things, this was towards the end of his life. I’m a huge fan and not an idiot. I do know a lot about him and his life, but am always open to learn more. Thanks for your input.

    Tremendous! Most of the people with really animated and hectic "reactions" are not reacting. They are acting. They do it for the purpose of being listened to, instead of listening and immersing themselves. Focusing on their own "performance" in front of a goddamn laptop camera. They are doing the opposite of reacting. They are acting. I will take someone any day, who actually sits down, pays attention, opens their mind and shuts TFU for a moment in authentic engagement with the artistry put before them, over some loud fool who's just trying to sign you up on their Patreon.
    That was a very long, complaining and whiny roundabout way of saying excellent reaction! 😄🤘🏼

    Get yourself some I Stay Away (AIC’s absolute masterpiece) and skip right past Love Hate Love (great performance but very weak song)
