Love the humility of this - they show this cool DIY project, but at the end admit that it's a lot more effort and not much cheaper than buying a ready-to-use one online. Don't see that acknowledged in the DIY world very often, even when it's often the truth.
Once you've been in the DIY space for a decade or so you can often complete projects like this with the spare parts from past projects or with scrap you've figured out how to source for free. It's a lifestyle where you build a whole group of contacts, not a single project thing to make it worthwhile.
@@Ryan66437 True, I've certainly built things that way myself. Out of junk is often economical, buying the stuff specially for the project isn't. But I see a lot of DIY projects that say "You need this and this and this, you can buy these here (probably sponsored links whether they tell you or not)" and the total cost comes to 50% more than just buying the finished thing online. What I love about FortNine is even when they do gear reviews and sponsored segments they feel so incredibly honest about it, and - unlike a lot of other motorcycle or really any hobby-related content - acknowledge that many are doing it on a tight budget. Their sponsor segments also feel extremely genuine, especially the insta360 cameras, which they use to make the videos - probably would without the sponsorship, maybe had been before the sponsorship arrangement - and the sponsor segments are basically just behind-the-scenes of the video itself, showing how they got those seemingly impossible shots.

I´m amazed by the direction F9 is taking. They have gone from making really good moto videos to amazing productions for motorcycle content. Yes! You gave me the answer to make a better pop up paint booth! I have a PVC frame that I cover with plastic and tape but now I can make a cover out of tarp and vynil cement! Thanks #44!
I went online and bought one of these after watching this video. Found one on sale on the walmart website for a little under $200 including shipping. It works great! Keeps everything perfectly dry, including leaving space for evaporation (some models, like mine, have vents built in), and is SO MUCH more convenient than a loose cover. No more readjusting mirrors every time I pull it on and off, no more worrying about scratching paint if I drop the cover on the ground, and no more struggling to find which side is the front when I'm putting my bike away after dark. Great video as always, and great product recommendation! I highly recommend for anyone who doesn't have a garage. P.S. I haven't done this yet, but I'm planning on building/scrounging some kind of small wooden platform + ramp on which to mount the shell. Should provide a better seal along the bottom, plus keeps tires off of sub-zero asphalt in the winter. I'll update this comment if/when I get around to it.
