  • @Introvertcs
    @Introvertcs Год назад +2

    12:37 not sure if I like this, queens are calling occasionally and you're winning with a check enough of the time

    • @BluffaloSam
      @BluffaloSam  Год назад +1

      I don't really know what we're beating besides air, this is also close to bottom of our range. Sometimes we do get stacked by a queen, but I also wanna get paid when I have a boat

    • @Introvertcs
      @Introvertcs Год назад

      @@BluffaloSam Fair enough; I think the c/r on the turn is polarized though given that board since there's no draws - likely either a queen, boat, or complete air right? Feel like a queen might be calling enough of the time to make it EV- and a boat is snapping you off
      Who knows though, you might've gotten him off a queen

    • @BluffaloSam
      @BluffaloSam  Год назад

      @Introvertcs That was definitely my least favourite all in, and probably better to block the 6, maybe a hand like A6 would be best.

    Nice session. I would’ve absolutely beat you in the pot that last hand with a Jack though :). I don’t buy for a second you’d ever check/call turn on that board oop with a straight. Looking forward to watching you on stream, gl!

      @richardsimmonsjuggernautof9781 Год назад +1

      @@BluffaloSam I think that’s a mistake oop, say you did turn a straight, if he has a value hand you’ll have way too many action killers on the river where it now goes ck/ck, a lot of the time with his Jx he will also be betting turn to get a to a free showdown which also goes ck/ck, he also has a lot of semi bluffs which quite possibly won’t bluff the river if they brick, in which case you allow villain to realize equity for the minimum. Against population you would win wayyy less money on average ck/calling a straight in this spot as opposed to c/r. Also you could exploitatively raise only straights in this spot in these games and be perfectly fine so you don’t even need to worry about finding bluffs for balance although there a few I could definitely find here. We’ll just have to disagree on this one, I 100% would’ve called, if you have a straight good for you! Gl on the stream!

    • @BluffaloSam
      @BluffaloSam  Год назад

      @richardsimmonsjuggernautof9781 you said it yourself though, you'd pay me off if I Check raise 10x pot on the river, and I had a straight. I prefer to play my range, and its nice to have traps vs big sizes, instead of just blasting off everytime I have the nuts

    • @richardsimmonsjuggernautof9781
      @richardsimmonsjuggernautof9781 Год назад

      @@BluffaloSamYou’d 100% win more money long term in that spot vs this population if you c/r a straight as opposed to ck/call, it’s honestly not even close. I would never use the sizings as the villain so I would never be in this spot. If I somehow found myself in this spot and took this river sizing it would literally only to be to induce, so yea, you would stack me every time you had it just like I would catch a stack every time you didn’t have it. Not sure how what you said makes my argument any less valid. It’s not about blasting off with the nuts, but mixing exploitative play with GTO in live poker, at these stakes especially is an absolute must, you aren’t playing 25-50 crushers here, and you aren’t playing against ppl who have a large sample size against you, finding the lines that will make you the most money is more important then being balanced/playing perfectly solver approved vs opponents who A) won’t exploit you and B) you most likely won’t even find yourself in that exact spot again anyway over a small sample size
      -Like another hand for example, the hand where you had a 6 with the 2 Queens on the board, I think it’s extremely ambitious to think a Queen will fold there, 90+ of population I play with would never fold trips there to a river shove. When he had such a polarized range when he c/r turn I personally think you’re just better off taking your showdown value. Then I saw you make the point that you wanted to be able to stack him all the times you had boats so you felt you needed to shove here. This is another example where you balance is irrelevant, if you shoved every single one of your boats and checked backed every time you had showdown value it doesn’t matter, you’ll still get called by Qx when you shove your boats REGARDLESS of what you do with other parts of your range. I think this was a very creative/cool play on your end btw im not trying to hate.
      I hope you don’t take any of this the wrong way, I respect your game a lot, Im just offering my perspective on things. I always appreciate the time you take to reply to all the comments, much respect for that. And it's okay if we sometimes see things differently, thats what makes it such an interesting game. Provably my last reply to this, dont want to get bogged down over this one hand. GL on the stream hope you crush!

    With the 88 4 bet what are your thoughts on just giving up vs range betting as it smashes your range?. Id opt to bet too but I find myself not giving up as often as I should and wonder if this is a spot to do it. Maybe range bet 8s with a club and give up red 8s as a way of balancing? Im tryimg to think what portion of his 3 bet call range folds on flop or turn..and idk....seems like once you bet flop you are gonna commit yourself to repping ak plus all the way on most runouts?

    • @BluffaloSam
      @BluffaloSam  Год назад

      Range bet means you're betting your entire range. You can't have give ups in there. The flop decides what you do, not your hand there.

    • @Nick-th9qy
      @Nick-th9qy Год назад

      Im saying idk if you are getting enough of his range to fold to make betting profitable , maybe you should just give up a decent amount of the time...seems like you have so many other better hands to consider bluffing with through multiple streets

    Hi Sam, nice video. I think the QJs could be a fold since you are either flipping or dominated by the short stack so even if early position always fold you aren’t making too much ev. And if he think you don’t have AA KK and decide to call you, you are almost always dominated with that hand and will lost lots of ev. For the 5X over net from Ac9h, I think he might be over bluffing here since he think most people are under defend in that situation. Not many K high or Q high flush combos from your position. And another logic is that if he is capable of 5X pot, he might be capable of check raise the flop with some back door stuff. I found that logic helpful. Just own thoughts, thanks for the video!

    • @BluffaloSam
      @BluffaloSam  Год назад

      Too much dead money with QJs and we're not gonna be dominated often enough. I'd love to flip with the $180 overlay in there already. EP can't call, I've 3bet and now 5bet shoved.

    While I think you may have the best hand a lot with the rivered set of 8's when you raise from 50 to 250 I think everything you beat folds especially 4 or 5 way. Also it is important to note that SB decided to start betting on the card that made your set so it is unlikely this card gave him 2 pair. At the same time the card brings in straights and flushes.

    • @logansmith4690
      @logansmith4690 Год назад +1

      Totally agree. I’m so confused when people say they’re raising for thin value and I’m like okay they bet 50 and you’re gonna raise to like 125. Then bam he makes it 250. I’m misinterpreting the meaning of thin clearly
