    I like the aggression pre and post-flop, but some of those river calls were reckless and drove your payout down! Good episode though, nice to see your play evolve.

    I'm confused about why you're coy about the modern poker theory book you're currently reading.
    Great content.

    Nice to see your play evolve. I don’t like the bet with AQ, a raise and reraise is usually too strong for AQ generally. I would like to see a lead with the second nut flush as well but see your point on it as well. Some loose river calls as well but calling down lighter makes you harder to bluff. Love you pushing a good reg off AQ with the 6-3, that was well done

      @BluffaloSam  Год назад

      At the time, I had AQo as a 100% cold 4. But this should be closer to 25% especially with the straddle on. I could probably just use AQs and be fine here. I don't mind loose River calls too much, as being hard to bluff, works well with an aggressive image. 63s I really liked. I'm honestly shocked he folded a hand as strong as that. I would've thought a river bet at least to get him off that

    Not sure if you still watch the comments on old video Sam but I'm wondering if the snap shove against your AQs was because of the timing tell of taking so long? I know that is for sure a thing in ok line poker...

    Been watching for a bit. Your progression has been fun to watch. What are you using for studying?
    I usually like your thought process and it's caused me to reevaluate mine in some scenarios.
    That Q7cc hand. Not a fan of the river check. You have the second nuts. The concern about an A high flush given the check through on the turn is misguided IMO. A great place to go for thin value with a 1/3rd sized bet.
    The only hesitation would be if someone would turn the naked Ac into a bluff. You didn't mention that so I suspect that was not a concern.

    • @BluffaloSam

      Modern poker theory book, playing 25nlz and reviewing hands, as well as studying preflop charts until they're memorized.
      I didn't even think of that, I highly doubt anyone would turn the naked Ac into a bluff, so I kinda like bet/fold more there. Although we could be bet/folding to a worse flush...

  • @mattbunker3982

    At 4:20 you don't lead your second-nut flush because you say it's quite likely someone has the nut flush. Really don't understand that -- if you look at overall probabilities, isn't it quite unlikely that anyone else has two cards of the same suit you do? I once saw someone do a mathematical demonstration that if you have two suited cards, it's quite likely that no one else in the hand even has suited cards of *any* suit, much less the same suit as yours. Isn't fear of the nut flush here a bit overblown, if we look at hundreds of hands with the same configuration? In the worse case scenario you can always bet/fold, yes? Wouldn't that line make more money in the long run? Curious what you think. Love the vlog! Your play is amazing!

    99: WP. I think you can also just bet out here also bc the board is SO low that villains are not likely to have too many strong hands. (You can probably have all the sets; they won't usually have anything better, especially outsiide the blinds. This assumes you play all the pp from LJ. If not, x is probably the best option.)
    AQo: You can just calculate 25% of your stack, which is 285. That should work.... Also consider that SB AQo does a lot of calling against EP raises.
    JTs is 2 hands outside the continuing range of LJ vs EP RFI.(QJs also folds.) EV decreases faster than pot share as more players enter the pot when we're out of position to the callers.
    Q7s: J9cc can also x-raise here. I would just lead out for about 2/3 pot after turn checks through. I say this all the time: "If you never lose when you value bet, you are not betting enough."
    JJ: In SRP, you can raise this flop, but it's not mandatory. BB bet into 2 players on the river after a procedural check. He can definitely have Kx and is more likely to have it than UTG when he bets the river after UTG's turn check. After BB bets and UTG calls, I think a fold is in order. If UTG had folded, I'd sigh call.
    A7dd: Why did you say that your flop bet should be an overbet? I can count the number of times you've overbet the flop (at least in your vlog) on one hand. Solver bets this hand 33% over 83% of the time. If villain were BB, I'd agree - overbet. I agree the turn should be an overbet. It does not strengthen villain's perceived range and does not complete any draws.
    63dd: Solver uses Axs/A5o/Kxs and small suited connectors to bluff and calls 63s 100% vs UTG raise. I actually think K3s is a better bluff on the turn bc it blocks KQ. Since he can have ANY KQ, that blocker is significant. That said, (un)blockers are really not that important before the river....

      99: Thanks, I was a bit unsure about that play. I definitely open all pps from LJ, I have trouble not opening all of them from UTG hahaha
      AQo: Yeah, that's much better I'll do the 25% stack calc first next time.
      JTs: It just seems so bad to fold this preflop, in very tough lineups I would definitely be 3! or fold, but can you imagine folding that on a juicy livestream, you'd never get invited back!
      Q7s: I like that saying, I do think I could've gone for some value here, 2/3 seems a bit bigger than what I would choose, but I don't think it matters too much
      JJ: I didn't know which was better OTF. BB definitely has more Kx, and I think UTG only has QQ that beats us, plus BB is pretttty wild!
      A7dd: I'm still learning AKx boards, I have studied more and from these positions I do think it's more often a smaller bet, didn't realize it would be that small though.
      63dd: I'll take a look at some UTG vs BB charts, but sounds right.

      @@BluffaloSam LOL these are some great comments. I have a tendency of raising small pairs early also. Hitting sets is fun. As for JTs, I don't see myself in a livestream anytime soon, so I'll be ok. With the Q7s you either are destroying him or getting destroyed (It's not a thin value spot.), so I like the 2/3. With JJ if you think r/c is close, just do the RNG. I completely get the thinking on the AKx board. Just remember that EP (non-blind) opponents and IP callers will have narrower (and stronger) ranges than BB, which is why the bets are smaller. Against BB I'd definitely go big. (And of course there are some BU players who fold nothing, so you can bet larger against them too.)

    • @BluffaloSam
      @BluffaloSam  Год назад

      @MaydayAggro Yeah, Sets in LLSNL are just so strong. Q7s probably definitely misplayed OTR. The AK7 Flop I do agree is more of an overbet vs BB than any other position

      You’re playing scared bro. You’re upping the aggression not because they’re folding but because your image is so tight. They see you checking back the 2nd nuts hoping someone is going to bet for you, and they know that you’re aren’t raising without the nuts. BET YOUR HANDS! Keep rocking it bro but start bettinf your hands lol quit waiting for a whale in a bowl to appear and bet for you

      Also this is the downfall of studying because I went through the same thing. I went through a period where I was giving these recs too much thinking credit. They aren’t thinking about any of this thought process 90% of the time

      This game is considerably tougher than most 2/5 games. That was also a very multiway pot. Multiway I am checking back a ton of top pair NFDs on the turn, especially anything weaker than AJ. I'm also not leading the turn there.
