9:18 this lead makes 0 sense. You should be extremely polar leading this river with QJ or 76 (obviously air like maybe 65s?) and the only QJ he has is QJ of spades and same with 76. I mean I understand sometimes your opponent rivers a 9 with 97s or J9s as bluffs but raising the flop is representing way stronger than that (sets and T8s for value). All these donks put everyone on draws it’s crazy. What other hand do you get value from that’s tripling off? The value you’re raising as well is never checking back

Big thing that affects your mental is having/managing a solid bankroll. Something I’m trying to work on. When you go down a couple buy ins due to variance and you get tilted, it’s probably because your mind can’t process the loss of so much money. (Which is totally natural). So to combat that, it’s always wise to make sure you’re ok with losing that much. Having a hefty bankroll will always help stop the tilt and allow you to play better in the long run
I think oceans 11 in Oceanside is 18+ too tho that seems further from you.

You should play around Europe. I went for a while before I was 21 and games were good, got some awesome experiences, and it was a profitable trip after all expenses. Would love to see video of that

The set of 8s hand, what was the reasoning for not going all in there?
The bomb pot with trip Ts, what was the reasoning for not trying to apply more pressure on the turn there?
Also why not raise the 325 river bet? You likely won't get called by worse but i think you had mentioned he was stationy ( or something you said made me think station, i could be totally wrong here, you know the table better than me)?
If you know people love to chase draws and you have a hand that has high equity on a double flush board, why not overbet the turn?
I think pot odds would dictatethat your opponent can't profitably call turn overbet with a flush draw unless it was a combo draw or made hand with redraw?
Although I can’t speak for Gil I can speak from a poker player’s perspective-
On the 8’s hand the flop is a semi-connected Td 8s 4s (two tone- spades and hearts) which makes it very straight/flush draw laden and hits the BB’s range better than his. It’s the kind of board where a bunch of cards complete a straight/flush by the river.
He makes a continuation bet and his opponent calls, indicative of a draw or medium strength hand. I can say that definitively because if he had a hand like 3 of a kind, 2 pair or a strong combo draw, he would want to raise to protect his hand/extract value on a board like that.
The turn was 3h which is basically a blank. It doesn’t complete any of the draws. Gil picked up on this, sized his bet up and his opponent called- even more evidence of a medium strength holding or a draw.
The river was a 9d and probably the worst card Gil wanted to see, other than a spade. It completed multiple straight draws and it prompted his opponent to bet into him. From Gil’s perspective he has to ask himself which hands want to bet into him on this board? A straight and in this exact betting line Gil’s opponent is going to have a straight at least half the time. So if Gil raises, more often than not he’s value owning himself and which hands call his raise that are worse? I can’t think of anything other than 9T. AT isn’t a lead and it’s a fold versus winning players.
On the QT hand, everyone sees the flop of Td 8s 5h and ranges are nonexistent. It also means the action starts after the flop.
Because of this, it’s a sound strategy to play more conservatively because you don’t have any information on your opponent’s holdings. Flops getting checked around is not uncommon.
On the turn 10, Gil’s primary goal is to extract value from his trips, while not getting trapped himself. Remember in a bomb pot any of his opponents could have any two cards T5, T8, pocket 5’s, pocket 8’s etc, unlikely but possible. If he bets too much players with an 8, small pocket pairs, straight draw etc will just fold and he wants to get called. So he bets 1/3 and his opponent raises him which is good and bad. Remember we have no idea what his opponent is holding and he raised Gil’s bet with the rest of the table left to act. That’s usually not a draw or mid-low pair, that’s most often another ten. Gil loses to Ace 10, King 10, 10 5 10 8 and chops with Q10, he loses to pocket pairs 5’s/8’s. That’s a decent amount of hands, by calling he minimizes his losses versus those hands and allows his opponent to bet a worse 10 or bluff. His opponents over bet on the river highlights the value in playing a strong but not nutted hands in a more passive manner, his opponent was bluffing.
The action is good it would be better. If the poker dealers. Ran the game. Instead of making comments talking about their personal life or not paying attention. 😞
They’re people too just having a good time haha. But yeah some dealers talk way to much. I think it makes the table dynamic more fun

It was just a blocker bet and it worked. On the 88.

I know it’s tuff but definitely gotta get thin value like 2 pair and top pair. Obviously it easy to say that cause I saw the hand but that’s my thoughts. Seems like he’s betted the price he wanted to showdown. Your only hand make sense that’s beating your hand is QJ of spades.
And I know top pair is a crying hero call but it’s honestly how the player see you. If the player see you as a person that’s good enough to bluff in this situation then I believe he could do that hero call with top pair.
