I love how many people singing backup were decked out in their finest cultist cosplay.
I'm so glad you included the hymn at the beginning, I feel like it adds so much to the song that most covers just foresake
It really does add to it! What the choir is singing is called the "Confiteor". It's a prayer spoken at every Catholic Mass. If you look up the Latin text (Google, Wikipedia, etc.) and examine each line they use at each moment of the song, you'll see just how fitting it is. ;)
The thing I love about this song, not only this version, is the “chanting” in the background is actual parts of a catholic mass. It’s not necessarily in order.
Plus it also directly contrasts against Frollo.
It is in fact in order, it's just first half of longer version

I got really excited when I realized they were doing the rendition that has the key change at "Protect me, Maria!" That's from the German stage show.
Also, does anyone else think this Frollo looks a bit like Rasputin?

Hellfire is Disney Dark Musical Masterpiece!!! So honest, adult and mature in tone!!! Lyrics are far explicit for kid's movie. Disney was daring put a song like this in on off their moves. I applaud Disney for their boldness!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯💯💯

That was so many goosebumps that it felt like the skin trying to make a knot. I mean - I love that song. I admit it happily. But whow.
Just found this performance, and it's fantastic. What I love the most about this is that is one of the very few versions out there where you can actually see and tell that, in the first part of the song, Frolo really starts from a point of fear and uncertainty. He ends consumed by lust, greed and his tremendous ego, but the transition is important and is not usually very well portayed. But it is here.
My gosh....this wasn't a cover. THIS WAS A BEAUTIFUL PERFOEMANCE!!! 😭😭😭❤❤❤

I got to play the flugelhorn part (trumpet 2) for our high school musical a couple years ago. It was the greatest musical we've ever done, and exchange student from Belgium got to play Esmerelda and it was a very well fit role.
I really like your version of Disney's "Hellfire", you totally embraced the darkness and the possessive tone of Frollo, and your tone also has a grown mans maturity. You are also announcing the words for people to hear your words.

The fact that he blames his lust on Esmeralda without taking any responsibility of his own feelings and thoughts. I was surprised that a song like this got through the Disney movie considering the concept of what the song was. But I don't think a lot of people really stop and thought about the song. Maybe if they looked at the movie again and really listen to a date but have a different opinion about it but it's still a good song
