I was surprised that a song like this got through the Disney movie considering the concept of what the song was. But I don't think a lot of people really stop and thought about the song. Maybe if they looked at the movie again and really listen to a date but have a different opinion about it but it's still a good song

At my parents' wedding, they sang this song together. My father passed in 2019, though the man my mother married died several decades before, as did the woman he loved and married. Needless to say, this song hits deep for someone who, as a child, grew up among the shattered remains and memories of a relationship well described by this song - two imperfect people finding solace in the shelter that each provides the other. All of that is to say, this song means a lot to me and I am very picky about its portrayal. Let me just say you did fantastic. Thank you for that. It hurt, but the music was beautiful.

One of my issues with that film is Ratcliff is to comedic with this song to be taken seriously as the near blood thirsty villain at the end

In a bit prejudiced, being that I am from Iowa, and my father was born in Sheffield, "a stone's throw" from Mason City, of which is what "River City" is based on, but... "The Music Man" is in my top three favorite musicals of all time, and I love this rendition so much, that I play it over and over!
