You don't always need a double locking trem in order to main tuning. Howeve, it's recommended. With an open tremolo setup, if you keep dive bombing, eventually you'll need to retune. Typically it's around the 3rd time of you're hitting it hard. If you keep the tremolo action at minimum, you'll be good for a while. Just stay off the deep end diving board and all is well.@@wlliamson53
