    You could literally give me some old entry/mid range Ibanez RG if I was stuck on a desert island and I'd be happy.
    I used to hate painted necks but I dig the friction-y feel and it does look a bit flashier in a good way.

    I like the simple look to it and the pick up covers. I was bummed to see it get a thumbs down but always thankful for your honesty. I hate when I buy something after someone gives a good review and it turnes out to suck. I know its a long shot but I would love to see the RGA42HP. Thanks Elmo

    I am no expert on guitars, but every time I was looking for a budget guitar I saw a lot of messages like "usable whammy under 500 eur? Not very likely". Luckily, the only guitar I have with a whammy is a Harley Benton and it's as good as it gets for the 300 eur I paid for it. You can do simple tremolo stuff, but no dive-bombing or anything.

      Harley Benton mainly uses Wilkinson VS 50 tremolos in this price range.

    Man, I think I will get this guitar. Change the tuners to locking ones, change the string trees to rolling ones, change the nut to a graphthech, and the tremolo won't be a problem. I'm gonna divebomb on this, mark my words

    Floating setup with 6 screws trems are nearly impossible to be in tune.
    Dive only will be ok.
    Blocked will be ok.
    For floating, tremsetter obligatory.

    • @kmichaelp4508
      @kmichaelp4508 Год назад

      I’m not Elmo but, don’t!!! Go to your local music store. You can then try it out in person. If the one on the shelf isn’t quite right you can have them bring out another or two. And they can possibly correct any problems it may have. You may pay just a little more but well worth it.

    For me, I would simply never use the trem on a guitar of that price range, which sucks because I love trems. That being said, it could be a great mod platform. Slap a some Gotoh hardware in there and you've got yourself some great stability

    Hi Elmo! I really like you reviews! Is there any wood-mounted-pickup guitar with a trem bridge that you would suggest beside this one? I hate pickguards and mounting rings but i cannot seem to find any options at local stores nearby...

  • @Barbarapape
    @Barbarapape Год назад

    This guitar uses the T106 trem bridge which they use on the entry level guitars
    and is not one of their best.
    I have a GRG120QASP which uses a T102 two point trem bridge and stays intune
    when you have set it up correctly, the price difference is not that much but that
    T102 bridge is far better.
    Ibanez are like a lot of brands entry level guitars, you need to choose the more expensive
    models to get decent hardware.

    • @jlGenozzV
      @jlGenozzV Год назад +1

      Yes it is, I say this not as a guitar player but as an electronic engineer. Without the shield you will pick all kinds of interferences

    • @ThePedroDB
      @ThePedroDB Год назад +1

      It will be of great benefit if you are installing Single Coil pups - as they are prone to picking up atmospheric noise/hissing etc. Humbuckers less so. Personally, I'd always shield both the pickup/control and jack socker cavities

    Personally I think if staring out with an affordable instrument it is better to avoid a trem bridge; cheap hardware always sucks in every possible way mate. It is way better to begin with a fixed bridge....and later, if needed, invest in a guitatr with proper trem hardware. Personally I do not like them all and all my guitars, bar one, have fixed bridge.

    I don't understand why you think the angle of the screws which hold the claw can in any way determine the way the springs behave. That claw could have screws that go completely sideways, like up and down into the body, and it would work the same way. You're kinda braking the laws of physics with that claim :)

    Ok, now we're there at this point where i have have to disagree. I am very sorry. and i will put this in front. I will stay a follower (subscriber), i will stay on patreon because i your videos, BUT now you put a guitar down in rating for something that it was not built for. These bridges and also the one's on a standard Fender strat are never, N E V E R built to move the whammy bar in both directions. If you set it up and it works...fine, lucky you. If you want to move the bar in both directions buy a f...g floyd rose one. Best example is your JEM jr. which works fine probably. Leo invented these bridges to lay on the body of the guitar and not hanging around like an unhorny dick. These bridges should be used slighly for some surfy alike or jazzy, bluesy tones. They are not meant to play monster metal divebombs. IMO this is an unfair test for a good instrument. This guitar costs 214 Euros and it is not a Harley Benton where you buy 3 exact same models and get three different guitars. I am playing guitar for 48 years now and i owned a lot and i mean A LOT of theses guitar perversions and i have only one left (HB pink Tele) which has no issues. I had never any problems with an ibanez wether it was a cheap or an expensive one.
    To all the haters out there. This is my opinion.
    Btw. i gave a"like" anyways.
