    I feel like the GIO line has really taken another step up in quality the last couple of years. Like Squier too.

    I do love how nicely spec'd the Gios are now. My second guitar was a Gio GRG270B and I loved it so much.

    After a 2 month wait on back order, finally got mine and WOW! I love it. One of the most comfy necks to play in this price range that I’ve played so far, mine needed just very slight tlc and was ready to go. The classic elites really do sing! Great video Chris, it was because of your review that I made the jump, thanks 🤩

    I tried one halfway across the country after trying it at a music store. No way was I gonna let it go, I knew I would regret it. For a new player it would keep them playing as a lesser guitar often frustrates people to quit. The roasted neck is just beautiful to look at.

    I've been thinking about getting one of these ever since I saw Phil McKnight talk about it on his channel. I REALLY like the upgrades you made here. Subtle but effective. If I get one I'll probably steal your ideas lol. Thanks for the great video! Just found you today and subscribed!

    People do sleep on Gios compared to Epiphones and Squiers. I had a Gio GRX20 in black in high school. Ended up selling it because I outgrew what I needed from it, but sometimes regret it. Yeah it never fully hanged with my top end guitars now, but it was still solid, very usable and decent tones. Highly slept on beginner line.

    Awesome review, some great tones as well! This really seems like a great beginner guitar/mod platform for around $420canadian. With just a bit of setup and locking tuners you have yourself a guitar that can go toe to toe with others twice the price. It's amazing how much the Gio line has improved over the years. I've never had a Gio before (have always been turned off by the ones I did try) but this looks like my next Ibanez after my Iron Label S and Rg550. Rock on, Chris!

    Awesome video, you got some seriously tasty tones. I have this guitar as well and will echo exactly what you said, it's absolutely fantastic. Total joy to play and to be honest with you I like the way the neck feels on this one more than the standard series RG Wizard necks. Not sure if the pickups I had were faulty or what but they sounded nowhere near as nice as yours. They sounded like I had the tone knob rolled halfway down at all times, so I swapped those with a pair of Dimarzio D-Activators and it woke that guitar up. I'll also be posting a review of this thing in the next day or so too :D

    Beautiful sound, nice demo and great playing! What is the lowest tunning you recommend in this guitar?

    • @ChrisTompkins-Music-And-Gear
      @ChrisTompkins-Music-And-Gear  9 месяцев назад +1

      For me, C standard is about as low as I'd go with a 25.5" scale length. 12 gauge strings will get it there. Anything lower and I don't like how floppy the strings get.
