That kayak frame was first used for the Rough Ryder Reserve line. It’s a play on the canoe pattern, it differs with the swell in the center of the frame.

I have the 2ab with 440c in a clip point, it’s in my top 5 favorites list. If I could change anything about it I’d have it as a spear point. Awesome knife, good for you!

I acually just bought my 1st GEC recently, and I'm never going back... Lol.. I have probably around 100 knives.. Buck, case, imperial, cattaraugus, benchmade, ESEE, CIVIVI, OLD TIMER, REMINGTON, SOLOGIN, VICTORINOX, QUEEN, ULSTER, CRKT, SCHRADE, WINCHESTER, WESTERN, and probably many more.... Still... GEC IS MY FAVORITE... ISH... LOL

I once read in a blade journal that some leather sheaths attract moisture which may be deleterious to the knife. Of course, maybe that is nonsense. I don't know.

Having written that I do have a tip for you. John Howard worked at Queen Cutlery before he started GEC. The lines of knives he personally worked on at Queen were Case Classics and Black Box Winchesters (although possibly other Winchesters).

Those Rosecraft knives are all right. They're not my favorite. I'd personally go with a Rough Ryder Reserve instead. That GEC on the other hand is very nice. I like it.
