Man this song hits hard, I went through about 5 years of drug use with pain pills and pretty much anything I could get my hands on and mind you I've been with my wife since I was 15 years old so she tolerated me for all those years and it kills me when I look back and realize all of the signs that were right there in front of me but I was so blind to it, I was living in autopilot and reality hit me when she sent me a message saying she didn't love me anymore and that she just couldn't tolerate it anymore, that was a real reality check thankfully we fixed our relationship and this was about 7 years ago and we are going strong and we introduced a new baby boy into this world so the relationship blossomed but it all came crashing down in one text message so if anyone out there is going through a drug addiction please be aware that you may convince yourself everything's okay but you 100% are missing a lot of things and once the people in your life lose all hope in you that's when it's going to slap you in the face and buddy it's going to hurt so wake up while you still can...
For her, she sacrificed her whole life for money and lifestyle and she is now empty, but for him, he's seeing her and thinking she has this beautiful life and he's angry for not having it. Basically, he envies her but she's miserable.

Some of my favorites to watch people to is definitely “How Could You Leave Us” “Therapy Session” and “Clouds” (so many more) another video/song that is amazing is definitely “Story,” in my opinion this particular song really paints NF as a lyrical master for exactly what he told.
Even in the darkest days and your faith is tested, that’s when you need to stay grateful and thankful to God! In the words of NF, the rainy days are what give you love for the sun! Dude in the video of the second verse was working for the woman in the first verse. Let that sink in, especially with the line "Point your finger at God and tell him to do his job..." Pointing out the fact that he thinks her world is the perfect life he wishes he had, not knowing her reality. He needs to"Wake Up." She needs to realize and wake up that she was chasing things instead of family.
For sure, totally agree, its also a means to say that you should see and enjoy the life you have now, do that when your older and you wont go to your grave with so many regrets about what you could have done or accomplished and its about enjoying the journey as your on it, not just when you reach the peak.. because you will look back and realize you were too caught up in everything else you would have wish you could have enjoyed it while it was there

My interpretation is that NF is super frustrated with himself, but also other people who don't help themselves out of depression and anxiety. I get it - I get frustrated with myself for that reason, too. It's an emotional response when you don't know how to handle your own distress.
What I see is 2 people focused on one thing, (one being caught up in success and wealth, and the other being angry at the world that he can't have what they have) , to where they neglect the things in life that matter and they need.
Hey Guys! Once again I loved your reaction. I am Christian and one of the things I loved about him is that he is so real. So many Christian people go around with this veneer of perfection and won't let anyone feel normal for showing cracks. God loves us regardless and He loves us even more when we are at our realest. Only then can his grace work on us.

People keep asking me if I'm scared because of the new job, new city, or or even new country, but the thing is I'm more scared of staying in this comatose state than scared of failing. My 'thing' since i was a kid in the 80s has always been rock/metal, rap was never my thing until Eminem turned up (i know, mainstream. But you have to start somewhere) i discovered NF a few months ago and every time i hear him i think he just gets it. No swearing, no half naked women, no guns, just pure words. And the feels, ohhh the feels. And im proud to say it took me a while but i did 'wake up'. Life is not about the things you get from what you do, the nice car, the big house, the designer clothes etc. its just about what you do. Give me a choice between more money doing something you hate and less money doing something you love i'll take the smaller bank account every time.

The yelling at God part! Little story about me: I lost my mom when I was 12, lost my dad when I was 18. They both came from religious homes. And I remember just wanting to scream at the top of my lungs to tell me what the fuck He was doing?! So yeah. Definitely know that feeling.
hey guys! i’m new to your channel but i absolutely adore you both and i felt called to share some things. i don’t know either of you so i’m not making presumptions, i just want to share my perspective even if i interpret things you said differently than you meant them. “when things are not going the way you think they are, how could you not fight with Him?” and “i fight with God all the time”. i understand these statements greatly. i used to be so negative and get pissed about the petty things too. sometimes i still do. us humans get stuck in cycles like this because we do not know what is best for us. we like to think we do but we do not. we live in a toxic, egotistical society. we’ve all forgotten how life is supposed to be. so when it doesn’t turn out the way it is “supposed to” we get upset and we tell God to do his job. And because he knows what is best He smiles sadly and says, “I am”. we are constantly being guided and steered towards the correct path, the one that leads to happiness and fulfillment and peace. we just struggle to remember that. it we forget completely. we’re stubborn beings and must of us do need to wake up.
the mother in this video. she believed (as society teaches us) that the material world is what matters. and that it determines your self worth. she had a lot and because she focused on it she neglected what truly mattered. and learned that the hard way. hence why she smashed everything. the young man. he works his life away (again as society teaches us) and also believes that’s what determines our worth. but he can’t catch his breath and he “can’t do anything right”. he’s “worthless”. different situation, same message. although these feelings become consuming (i am personally there) you still need to live in the moment and appreciate what you DO have. i know it’s easier said than done, i still struggle everyday. everyday. but if you continue with negativity then that will remain your reality because you manifest your reality whether you believe that or not. another fact society doesn’t want us to remember. this is why we are all so lost and depressed and unfulfilled.
the number one thing though? there is a balance to literally everything. we just need to relearn how to find it. i promise. the last thing i wanted to say 😊 “how does he know?”…beautiful question. nate and i grew up in the same lifestyle. lower-middle class, abused, neglected, traumatized from our parents. around the absolute worst kind of people. drugs. settings typical people would describe as “sketchy”. in mansions he said “i gotta thank you for this anger that i carry around”. true. we carry SO MUCH ANGER because of the injustice we endured in our childhoods that we grew up seeing the world…how it really is. the worst of the worst. which means we hit TRUE rock bottom in early adulthood (i’ve just gotten out of mine this year) and our anger brought us face to face with THE decision this video is calling everyone to make. it’s just that our trauma brought us to that point a lot sooner than others. we can continue to fight like hell and go for the life that we dream of and we KNOW we can create (with the balance of self compassion and knowing when to stop and appreciate the moment, regardless of circumstances). or we can continue to view the world with the negativity and bitterness and hate that our abusers passed down to us, thus passing it on to others. (when people say the abusers were once the abused they are 100% correct and it works the same with neglect and manipulation as well). so i’m the long run our abusers and our hate are what we have to thank for our drive and our passions. this is why we feel called to share it. nate through his music and me through…well, this for now 😂 so. this is how nate knows. how he hits the nail on the head every time. he’s awake. which is not what society wants, meaning you have to truly FIGHT for it.
i know that’s a lot i just felt called to share it. i admire you guys and i see your truths in your reactions. please feel free to message me if either of you feel compelled to. i hope this got to someone who needs to hear it 🖤

the last thing i wanted to say 😊 “how does he know?”…beautiful question. nate and i grew up in the same lifestyle. lower-middle class, abused, neglected, traumatized from our parents. around the absolute worst kind of people. drugs. settings typical people would describe as “sketchy”. in mansions he said “i gotta thank you for this anger that i carry around”. true. we carry SO MUCH ANGER because of the injustice we endured in our childhoods that we grew up seeing the world…how it really is. the worst of the worst. which means we hit TRUE rock bottom in early adulthood (i’ve just gotten out of mine this year) and our anger brought us face to face with THE decision this video is calling everyone to make. it’s just that our trauma brought us to that point a lot sooner than others.
we can continue to fight like hell and go for the life that we dream of and we KNOW we can create (with the balance of self compassion and knowing when to stop and appreciate the moment, regardless of circumstances). or we can continue to view the world with the negativity and bitterness and hate that our abusers passed down to us, thus passing it on to others. (when people say the abusers were once the abused they are 100% correct and it works the same with neglect and manipulation as well). so i’m the long run our abusers and our hate are what we have to thank for our drive and our passions. this is why we feel called to share it. nate through his music and me through…well, this for now 😂
so. this is how nate knows. how he hits the nail on the head every time. he’s awake. which is not what society wants, meaning you have to truly FIGHT for it.

He knows because we aren’t alone. Even tho it feels that way. We need to talk about mental health so much more! It needs to stop being stigmatized and swept under the rug.
