Johnny is his mom's boyfriend who physicaly abused Nate (Mansion). Nate wants to write a song about Johnny, so he cant burry anger yet. Great reaction bros! 🔥
@@roxannatorres2916 good point. But that doesn't fit in with the rest of the context. "He needs (anger) to write a song (with out fear) for Johnny. Why would he need to be anger and no fear to bury his middle name? But he would to bury his abuser
@@MrZKR2391 (hope you don’t take this as arguing so please don’t take it that way) I’m not saying he wants to bury his middle name, but as a kid, a lot of trauma stuff happened to me, and looking back I was so mad a myself because of letting stuff slide, for being a victim etc. and I was mad everyone for seeing it and no doing anything. I’ll have to listen to it again, Im trying to see how and when he mentions his moms bf in the song.
@@roxannatorres2916 didn't take it as arguing at all just friendly convo, I totally get music is objective, so how u receive it is how U hear it. For me tho, with all the context that's how I hear it! In the end it's all Love! From 1 fan to another! 😁
This whole song is amazing, but I think the coolest/most overlooked reference is when NF says, "Let me guess, we gon' dig a hole, kill the track and prolly put a beat in it Rap about it for like three minutes." Intro 1 is exactly 2 mins 58 seconds and at the end of the song he talks about murdering the beat and going to it's funeral.
And in Intro 2 NF says "give me this shovel it's about to get scarier" so Intro 3 already existed in NF's mind when he wrote intro 2 which is pretty cool
Another thing is “I mean what are you, out of your mind? Cause both of us will be, cmon let’s go outside!” Outside as in, out of the ‘mansion’ aka Nate’s mind. Or the bar where he talked about fear sleeping in the backyard, or the back of his mind “depends on how you see it” it’s just one huge analogy
The buildup in this song hits so hard! Every note and bar is perfectly placed and the song is full of reference to previous albums and hints and albums and songs to come. NF is a musical genius
"He still lives in the basement " goes back to the lyric in Mansion "you took me downstairs and beat me til I screamed and I cried" so yes Johnny is the guy he needs anger for.
someone once said, "once an artist publishes it's work, it's not theirs anymore" or something like that. I mean, it can be whatever we read into it, because it is what we make of it. sometimes it's like he is the personification of our own minds and that's what makes us all one and that's why his music is so awesome
You mentioned Clouds. I know I’m probably not the first to tell you this, but “Story” is going to make you speechless. And has a few tracks I bump in the gym cause it hits hard. I’ve watched tons of NF reactors since I discovered NF about 2 years ago. And y’all are definitely my favorite. I look forward to this each weeks. Thanks guys.
Let’s go!!! Buckle your seat belts. It’s getting so good!!!! This is my favorite NF Journey I’ve ever come across. Y’all are just as hyped as I am about NF and are putting it all together!
You guys are true fans. So many aren’t and are just using Nate for subs. I haven’t been so hyped by this song since I first listened. You two are the best. You got me excited again.
Thats what I said! I tagged NF on twitter with this reaction because these two seem so genuine to me! I hope Nate watches this as I know he watches reactions to his music and this song is special to him.
This song is a f****** masterpiece. NF is a genius. A lyrical Mastermind. He's an artist like no other. And because you guys mentioned Damien being similar to this I now have to go check that out and see if I can expand my musical knowledge as well. The journey just continues to get better from here on out and I am so excited to continue riding along beside you.
What I love about your reactions is how much you guys pay attention. Not just in the moment of each video but you listen to the songs outside of the reactions and can recall what you’ve seen already. Most people listen once and never fully let it sink in and they miss so much. You guys are legit fans 🖤🖤🖤 keep up the amazing reactions!
YESSSS, they are the best pair of reactors that I have come across, and if this is the Kayy that gave them the list of songs then kudos to you because this has been an amazing journey and I can't wait for the rest!
Great reaction! Man that very last bar gets me every time: "I'm the one holding the keys" 🗝️🗝️🗝️ it is a multilayered reference to musical notes, the keys to his mind, the keys to the cage that the music industry has put him in, and the keys that Jesus has given to him, through his faith, to walk out of the cage of this world into eternal salvation. Thanks again guys for the great reaction and insight!
Mainly a reference to the prison cell of fear he chooses to be in because he feels "safe" and protected. Quoted in another song too, "doors locked but the keys are in my hand". Don't think there is a deeper rooted religious meaning to it tbh
I love watching the two of you put the pieces together. Very good insights and speculation. Your foreshadowing is on point. In Intro 3 he finally confronts his fear and realizes that he's "the one holding the keys". He's out of the safety of the prison that fear had him in (part of the deal fear made), but freedom doesn't come easy. It leads to him on a search for freedom, hope, and peace referenced in The Search (and other songs I wont mention to avoid spoilers). This would be considered brilliant if it were a Hollywood script, but the fact that this is 100% genuine personal struggle of Nate adds to his genius.
"You'll spend the rest of your life in my backyard or the back of my mind, depends how you see it." He just explained the core concept of this album; "Perception." Nate is Burying (and attempting to kill) his fear. He is the master of personification, metaphor, lyricism, beat selection, and cinematography. Excellent predictions Gentleman! Much more is coming down the pipeline. It's gonna be legit!
This journey you guys are on right now is so amazing. I can't wait for "remember this" reaction, it's my favorite nf song. Keep beeing real guys, love the energy!
I was so excited for you to react to this song. It’s brilliant. Johnny is the universal name for an abuser, you got that correct. So glad you’re taking this journey
I think this is my favorite reaction video by anyone so far. Told ya this would be good. "You had me scared for a second, I thought we were digging my grace. We did, what you don't like being afraid? Here's a dose of your own medicine. What you don't like how it tastes? My therapist told me don't bury my issues but Ima be honest man I'm feeling great." One of the top favorite lines of NF.
This is my favorite NF song. It's like listening to a scene in a movie without the screen on. U can practically see the scene in ur head with his storytelling.
This 1 gives me major goose bumps...I love it..as usual much love to my favourite bros..I appreciate how much u appreciate and respect his art as we all do..❤❤
Yas!!!! Told you guys- a masterpiece!! So perception... his perception has changed and he made an album without fear.... it's soooooo good- so meta lol. Love how well you guys catch onto things! Can't wait until "next week" :)
So glad you finally got to listen to this!!!! Now you know why so many of us have been requesting it from months ago. Absolute genius and a masterpiece!
OMG!!!! Best reaction to this one that I’ve ever seen!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 You guys “get it”!!!! You ARE “Just Like Us” 😉 Thank you for taking this Journey and sharing with us!!!! 🖤🗝🛒☁️ 💞
Great reactions guys! Been following since you started reacting to NF, Longtime fan of Nate's. You're so good at this, laugh with you, cry with you..honest reactions from your hearts. I loved how you said previously that you find NF when you need him. That is so true. I was suffering pretty bad when I found him, and he truly helped me out of a very dark place. I'd like to meet him someday and thank him personally. I came close :) There is a segment in Clouds that was filmed about 30 miles from my house that took them all day to film. It was leaked on a fan page that they were setting up early and I drove out there and watched with alot of other people. We couldn't get close but close enough to see what was going on a little bit. I live in TN where it was filmed and it was amazing. No spoilers for you two. Ill fill you in more when you finally get to Clouds. Love what you guys are doing great job
From the first time I ever heard this song, I was like, damn this is incredible how he can put things together like this. He is freaking insanely talented.
This is probably one of my favorite songs from Nate. I really relate to this song and HOPE a lot. Im also a msuician and write/produce cinematic instrumentals and this song is huge and i use it as a huge piece of my inspiration
Ok so i am typing this before even watching… and i have to say you guys reacting to this song is like the biggest thing i have been hoping for! So pumped to see you guys to discover that Nate is talking to his fear. Let's GO!!!!
I love this song and I know every single word by heart. The song is an argument between Nate and the emotion fear as if it were human, and at the end with the line “I thought you had me in prison this whole time, but I’m the one holding the keys” symbolizes Nate finally realizing that he has control over his emotions, not the other way around. Love NF and all of his music
Ahh im screeching so hard. You guys are getting it! No Name was my introduction to NF. Outcast coming up is going to blow your minds and open the door to the rest of it all. Im so happy I found you guys tonight. Im here for this. you caught everything!
"Is it me or the fear talkin'?" is a direct reference to Mansion, more specifically to the last phrase of the song "Is that me or the fear talking? I don't know anymore"
Lyrics: What, are you scared of me? It's embarassin' If it wasn't for me, you would've never wrote Therapy I've been here for you, but how come you're never there for me? It's a little bit twisted, but I miss when you and I had scary dreams I don't really wanna talk about it Well, that's too bad now, Nate, shut up! Now where were we? Way back in the day when You and I had it all mapped out in the basement Cryin' in your room like a baby "I wish mom was here" We all do so we wouldn't have to hear about it Every single record you don't really wanna change me Yeah, I'm the one that made this happen Do you really wanna get rid of your main attraction? Let's pack our bags and go back to Gladwin now Yeah, it's time for the third record And you know I got the content I don't wanna make you nervous But it ain't like it used to be We got a lotta people watchin' You told me that you don't want me in your life That's pretty hard to digest And I told you I'd leave when we die, and we ain't died yet Therapy Session was beautiful, Nate, but I'm wonderin' what's comin' next Yeah, get that stupid hat off of your head when I'm talkin' to you, you hear what I said? You don't like the prison I built you? Yeah, you wanna know what the funny thing is? You keep on talkin' to me like a stranger, but we've been together since you were a kid Took us from a no-name Told you everything was okay Now you tryna cut me out of it like I ain't never been a part of it I am the heart of it, I made this whole thing Yeah, I put us on the dope stage You must have no brain What's the point of having guns if you can't aim? What's the point of having blood with no vein? What's the point of having love with no pain? What I'm sayin' is me without you doesn't make any sense I know I'm intense in controlling, but you need to learn how to cope with it That's just the way that it is If you didn't want me to live in your house, you shouldn't have let me move in It's comfortable here and I like it, I got my own room and everything It don't get better than this! You say you wanna own your life, then wake up and take your own advice You just mad 'cause you know I'm right Yeah, I'm flattered you put me in Mansion, but you should've told 'em right 'Bout your hands on the coldest nights You didn't tell 'em 'bout the times you and I used to hold he mic I mean, what are you, outta your mind? 'Cause both of us will be Come on, let's go outside! Is this what you wanted? Both of us out in the open? Let's do it then I mean, why are you doin' this? I know that you're mad, but I'm not in the mood for this We got a record to drop So why you actin' like I'm not a part of it? And where is my shovel at? Prolly all back where it always is, you can't get rid of all of me I'm the reason why Nah, shut up, I don't wanna hear another sentence Hey, I'm NF, is it me or the fear talkin'? What a dumb question Yeah, it's real music 'til the day we die, right? Yeah, ain't that the slogan, Nathan? Thought I told you to keep your mouth shut I mean, so what? You know I never listen Let me guess We gon' dig a hole, kill the track, and prolly put a beat in it Rap about it for like three minutes Aye, that's pretty deep, isn't it? Wait a minute, you don't really think for a second that you're puttin' me in this? No, of course not, just a lil' deeper then we'll go inside and we can stop diggin' Woo! You had me scared for a second, I though we were diggin' my grave We did, what, you don't bein' afraid? It's a dose of your own medicine What, you don't like how it tastes? My therapist told me don't bury my issues, but I'ma be honest, man I'm feelin' great! I think it's only right we go back to where you were created I wrote a song for Jonny without you, but he ain't gon' like it, let's see how he takes it He prolly don't even remember us, does he? I wish I was buryin' anger, but both of us know I'ma need him for that song He still lives in the basement Almost done, shoulda done this a year ago I don't know why I waited You know how I get it, I put everything off of my personal life, you hear what I'm sayin'? That was a joke Yeah, it's hilarious, ain't it? You'll spend the rest of your life in my backyard or back of my mind, depends how you see it Put the shovel away, time to go back in the house now, you'll be out in a week Tellin' me you want your room back, that's funny, what, you ain't got nowhere to sleep? I'ma just look out the window and laugh at you, this is crazy to me 'Cause I thought you had me in prison this whole time, but I'm the one holdin' the keys
I can’t pick a favorite NF song because every song is my favorite for a different reason or at a different time in my life. Disciple “Dear X” is such a great song!
"I'm an artist. Look what I painted." NF Intro Now you see why we said Outro first because that is where he gets the keys. It is so refreshing to watch someone who has taken the time to understand the story and thus is able to catch that this is Fear talking. Although this is probably the most epic part of the journey, the next song sets you up for the rest of the album and his career. You guys are perfect. Thanks again.
I just found you guys today and I'm loving your reactions to this journey. I first heard NF as a feature on a song called "Start Over" by FLAME. Then I rediscovered him in 2016, after the Mansion album came out. Been following the journey ever since. Your reactions are fantastic!
GREAT reaction guys!! I have never seen a reactor catch that this was fear talking to Nate so fast. It made your reaction so much than most because y'all didn't spend half the song trying to figure it out. Y'all actually LISTENED to the conversation and knew who was talking and when. Did you hear the shovel when it hit? It seemed as though you might have missed the sound effect... This was absolute FIRE!!!!!! Tighten your seatbelts... we're about to take off!!!
the thing about his intros: the last line of his intros always hits the hardest. like in the second intro the last line is “im sorry i don’t wanna be late for my therapy session agghh!” it just hits so hard
Love you guys, Love this journey, Love this song. We are just getting started and I am here for it!! Seeing the different sides of NF all in the same song is such an amazing concept and he nailed it!
Love the gaping mouths! I was going to be upset if you guys didn't drop this on today. Soo good. You're reactions are not only entertaining but spot on. Love you guys. Let's go! So hyped. Love from Cali.
TOMORROW!!! YAAAAAS!! This song is one of my top ten NF songs. Normally I have a top three, but he’s so amazing I can’t cut his library down that small.
Love NF!!! This song is crazy!!! Love your NF reactions, thank you guys so much!!! Looks like Mr, Bean loved this one too!! Yes, NF kept the references to Mansion, the reference to Johnny was about the abuse - mom's boyfriend. More, More, NF please!!
See this is why the journey is what it is things connect he has incredible foresight there’s no other artist anywhere that does this. You can’t jump to part four if you didn’t listen to part 1,2 and 3 thanks fellas cheers. Happy 4th!!!
Pause… 🛑 STOP 🛑 DISCIPLE MY MAAAN?!? Yaaasss!!! How did I never connect those 2 songs?!?! Now after this to iTunes I go for a song or two… thanks a lot 🙄 for real tho… excellent correlation between those 2 epic tracks 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
There's a track called "no name" that was not on the albums and you need to hit that one because you heard it referenced in this song when fear said "took is from a no name and told you everything was okay...."
I'm still digesting this masterpiece. Marvelous sound, powerful lyrics. So much trash music in this world, and we got a pearl which is so valuable. Real and good music is this. NF, thanks for that. And Kyle and Eric, as always, your reactions are priceless. Be strong and happy everyone 😊

Lyrics:
What, are you scared of me? It's embarassin'
If it wasn't for me, you would've never wrote Therapy
I've been here for you, but how come you're never there for me?
It's a little bit twisted, but I miss when you and I had scary dreams
I don't really wanna talk about it
Well, that's too bad now, Nate, shut up!
Now where were we?
Way back in the day when
You and I had it all mapped out in the basement
Cryin' in your room like a baby
"I wish mom was here"
We all do so we wouldn't have to hear about it
Every single record you don't really wanna change me
Yeah, I'm the one that made this happen
Do you really wanna get rid of your main attraction?
Let's pack our bags and go back to Gladwin now
Yeah, it's time for the third record
And you know I got the content
I don't wanna make you nervous
But it ain't like it used to be
We got a lotta people watchin'
You told me that you don't want me in your life
That's pretty hard to digest
And I told you I'd leave when we die, and we ain't died yet
Therapy Session was beautiful, Nate, but I'm wonderin' what's comin' next
Yeah, get that stupid hat off of your head when I'm talkin' to you, you hear what I said?
You don't like the prison I built you?
Yeah, you wanna know what the funny thing is?
You keep on talkin' to me like a stranger, but we've been together since you were a kid
Took us from a no-name
Told you everything was okay
Now you tryna cut me out of it like I ain't never been a part of it
I am the heart of it, I made this whole thing
Yeah, I put us on the dope stage
You must have no brain
What's the point of having guns if you can't aim?
What's the point of having blood with no vein?
What's the point of having love with no pain?
What I'm sayin' is me without you doesn't make any sense
I know I'm intense in controlling, but you need to learn how to cope with it
That's just the way that it is
If you didn't want me to live in your house, you shouldn't have let me move in
It's comfortable here and I like it, I got my own room and everything
It don't get better than this!
You say you wanna own your life, then wake up and take your own advice
You just mad 'cause you know I'm right
Yeah, I'm flattered you put me in Mansion, but you should've told 'em right
'Bout your hands on the coldest nights
You didn't tell 'em 'bout the times you and I used to hold he mic
I mean, what are you, outta your mind?
'Cause both of us will be
Come on, let's go outside!
Is this what you wanted?
Both of us out in the open? Let's do it then
I mean, why are you doin' this?
I know that you're mad, but I'm not in the mood for this
We got a record to drop
So why you actin' like I'm not a part of it?
And where is my shovel at?
Prolly all back where it always is, you can't get rid of all of me
I'm the reason why
Nah, shut up, I don't wanna hear another sentence
Hey, I'm NF, is it me or the fear talkin'? What a dumb question
Yeah, it's real music 'til the day we die, right? Yeah, ain't that the slogan, Nathan?
Thought I told you to keep your mouth shut
I mean, so what? You know I never listen
Let me guess
We gon' dig a hole, kill the track, and prolly put a beat in it
Rap about it for like three minutes
Aye, that's pretty deep, isn't it?
Wait a minute, you don't really think for a second that you're puttin' me in this?
No, of course not, just a lil' deeper then we'll go inside and we can stop diggin'
Woo!
You had me scared for a second, I though we were diggin' my grave
We did, what, you don't bein' afraid?
It's a dose of your own medicine
What, you don't like how it tastes?
My therapist told me don't bury my issues, but I'ma be honest, man I'm feelin' great!
I think it's only right we go back to where you were created
I wrote a song for Jonny without you, but he ain't gon' like it, let's see how he takes it
He prolly don't even remember us, does he?
I wish I was buryin' anger, but both of us know I'ma need him for that song
He still lives in the basement
Almost done, shoulda done this a year ago
I don't know why I waited
You know how I get it, I put everything off of my personal life, you hear what I'm sayin'?
That was a joke
Yeah, it's hilarious, ain't it?
You'll spend the rest of your life in my backyard or back of my mind, depends how you see it
Put the shovel away, time to go back in the house now, you'll be out in a week
Tellin' me you want your room back, that's funny, what, you ain't got nowhere to sleep?
I'ma just look out the window and laugh at you, this is crazy to me
'Cause I thought you had me in prison this whole time, but I'm the one holdin' the keys
I just love how NF addded the shovel to the head noise in the song
Cant wait for perception! 🙏 Outcast is an old favorite of mine. ❤️ Great reaction.
YESSSSSSS! You got fear right out the gate! Another great reaction! 💜💜💜🔥🔥🔥 Clouds is DEFINITELY worth the wait!
I can’t pick a favorite NF song because every song is my favorite for a different reason or at a different time in my life.
Disciple “Dear X” is such a great song!
This whole reaction was awesome. Your facial expressions were priceless. I love it ❤️🔥
This is my favourite album and I listen to NF religiously, I go to this album more than all the others. My stress is a personal favorite. Enjoy boys
The BEST INTRO by NF
"I'm an artist. Look what I painted." NF Intro Now you see why we said Outro first because that is where he gets the keys. It is so refreshing to watch someone who has taken the time to understand the story and thus is able to catch that this is Fear talking. Although this is probably the most epic part of the journey, the next song sets you up for the rest of the album and his career. You guys are perfect. Thanks again.
This is hands down the best reaction to this song on yt. Subbed and about to check out the channel!
I was looking so forward to this one. Wonderful reaction!
I just found you guys today and I'm loving your reactions to this journey. I first heard NF as a feature on a song called "Start Over" by FLAME. Then I rediscovered him in 2016, after the Mansion album came out. Been following the journey ever since. Your reactions are fantastic!
Awesome reaction guys, this song is a work of art! I'm so thankful that you decided to do the NF Journey. Already looking forward to the next video. 🖤
Yess! I’ve been waiting for this one!
NF is still trapped in his mind(the cage) but yet he has the keys to get out hence the very first lyrics in the song... powerful
*this comment was suppose to be in your outcast reaction
My favorite part about the whole song is just how loud the build up gets in the background. It’s haunting
This song is on another level ! This man is insane LIKE BRO WHAAAT !
the thing about his intros: the last line of his intros always hits the hardest. like in the second intro the last line is “im sorry i don’t wanna be late for my therapy session agghh!” it just hits so hard
I just mentioned this one on ur last upload HELL YEAH! just opened the video cant wait to see your reactions!
Love you guys, Love this journey, Love this song. We are just getting started and I am here for it!! Seeing the different sides of NF all in the same song is such an amazing concept and he nailed it!
Every single song on the Clouds Mixtape is 🔥, no skips! And Story is a cinematic experience.
You are absolutely going to flip out when you get to the clouds mixtape. All of them are absolute fire and I cannot wait for your reactions.
I was looking forward to this one. One of my favorites. I love the buildup musically in this song. It is so epic!!
also he threw reference in this song to one of his first appearances-a feat. on a song by Tobymac "Till the day I day."
Nate made a comment in an interview view that he was literally shaking the entire time he developed this song from start to finish
You guys are best. I actually can't wait for your reactions it's better than going to the movies!!!!!
Seeing your NF reactions makes me feel like I’m hearing the songs for the first time and feeling that exact same thrill & goosebumps. Thank you!!!
it just gets better......also once again your my favorite reactors hands down
5:32 DUDE I LOVE THAT SONG!!🔥AND I LOVE THIS SONG EVEN MORE!!! 🔥🖤
My favorite reactors right now, really digging the journey with you (even though I've taken it with people for years now.)
Love the gaping mouths! I was going to be upset if you guys didn't drop this on today. Soo good. You're reactions are not only entertaining but spot on. Love you guys. Let's go! So hyped. Love from Cali.
Perception and search albums are a ride for your life
TOMORROW!!!
When you guys brought up the Damien comparison. I could feel my younger years screaming in triumph. It has helped me feel less alone. Thanks!
Pause… 🛑 STOP 🛑
DISCIPLE MY MAAAN?!?
This song is a masterpiece. Good buildup, savage ass lyrics and yeah just overall amazing. Great reaction!
LOVED IT!! keep it going guys!
I’m mesmerized bye these lyrics And bars I can’t get enough
You guys should go down the Hopsin road and show Kyle all the hidden gems from Hop. Keep doing the amazing work! You guys kill this reaction game!
I've been waiting for this!!! YESS
Revisiting... SOOOO epic!!
Shoutout to Disciple! Nice bro!!! Love those guys!
I've seen a lot of reactions to this song and you guys understood that it was Fear talking faster than 99% of them!
This was my first NF song.
Truly amazing.
Hey guys looking forward to your reaction, this is one of my favorites because the message.
Wow…that was a lot to take in lol I’m definitely gonna give this song another listen 🔥
Bit off topic of the music but ‘My mouth has been open for 42seconds, we’ve only be going 38seconds’ absolutely killed me mate 🤣🤣🤣🤣
cant wait for you to get to "remember this". It is by far the most relatable song he has of just real hitting you in the face.
Yes, Johnny is the one he referred to in Mansion.
Again 🔥🔥🔥 and again you guys are Awesome 🙏
Been waiting for this!!!
