PS: no I didn’t fix the exhaust leak 🤓
Always a cool car! Love your finish on the body!!! Awesome work
Thanks so much Carousel, I appreciate your support 👍
Gorgeous Work James 🏆🏆 Thanks For Sharing n God Bless All 🤗 Gary.
Thanks so much Gary! I value your continued support 👍
👍👍
Awesome build!!! This turned out fantastic as everything you build does James!
Thank you so much SMCB, I really appreciate your kind words. No pressure heh for my next one… haha Thanks for watching👍
Great build,James...
"Shaker hood..."😂
Thanks for sharing this 👍
That was a funny comment Robin! The hood shuts so tightly against the grille that you can't get a fingernail in there to pry it loose. Turn and shake is the way to do it! Thanks for watching!
Nice job, James. Dave's reaction of it says it all. It should do your heart good. You made him happy.
Yes Sir, that is what it was all about Rob. Thanks for watching bud!
Nice work like always James. Was great seeing you assemble the Rebel and I'm glad Dave liked it too. Looking forward to see what your next project will be.
Thanks Karl for watching 👍 the next one will be …. Different. 😁
That build came out really nice! Aside from some Caddy's back in the day that were done as lowriders for people, I've never messed with any other Johan kits but I have some in mind I'd like to build up. Great job!
Thanks so much Left Coast! Johan kits aren’t bad kits, they just need a little extra care in prep. Again, I appreciate you watching 👍
Absolutely excellent build. Your attention to detail is beyond amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Michael! I really appreciate the support bud 👍
That machine looks great James. Paint has a great shine great workmanship.
Thanks so much Horton, that means a lot to me. I appreciate your support👍
So odd the choice of details on this. Front disks and suspension but the whole rear is molded? I am impressed with what is there tho. Great work of course and loved the build video. Now bring on the next project!!!
Thanks Spencer, your support is always appreciated my brother 👍
Beautiful build James! Thanks for sharing. 😎🇨🇦
Thanks Peter for your support, I really appreciate it 👍
You did a Great job on this kit James!!! Very Well Done!!!! Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much Mike! I appreciate your support bud👍
That looks nice matey...love the build from start to finish.. Thanks for sharing 😊 Cheers
Thanks so much for watching the whole series Frank, I really appreciate it👍
Fantastic Craftsmanship Sir. Very well done!
Thank you so much Chris. I appreciate your support 👍
I love AMC cars, especially the AMX and Javelin, but the 70 Rebel Machine was an awesome car too. 😎👍
The model is nice overall, but Jo-Han got the rear suspension and exhaust wrong. The angled links don't come together in the center. They attach to the frame outboard of the dual mufflers.
Thanks for watching. I chose to build it box stock so I couldn’t fix all of the inaccuracies in the kit.
Great looking build!👍👍
Thanks so much big chef! I appreciate the support 👍
What beautiful build, and I really like the video. Using tape to place the windows, I would have never known that.
Thanks for watching MoonCity. It wasn’t my idea, I stole it from Paul at International Scale Modeler. It works well to keep your fingers off the glass.
Great build! Tks for the window installation tip!!
Thanks for watching Johnny. I stole the idea from Paul at the ISM channel. Works good!
Very nice! I like your approach to building and I had to smile about those exhaust pipes never reaching the exhaust manifolds. That snag gets me almost every build. You got there and everything came together.
I usually test fit the whole kit in white glue to fix stuff like that before paint. Only when you don’t does stuff like that happen. Thanks for watching. I appreciate your support 👍
little tip on the window installs if you or anyone else watching has shakey hands, place the window where it goes without any glue, then tape a couple of locating blocks to the body inside so you have a ledge to place the window against so it goes right where you want it.
is possible to accidentally slide the window too far and get glue showing from the outside.
looking at the front wheel gap it seems close the back of the fender, i'm wondering if the chassis is further back than it should be, this could be why the air cleaners were out?
not built this model so i don't know, just doing a bit of columbo.
havent built iny model kits in a few decades, i was building them as a teen in the 1980's (UK) and i do still have a few johan kits from then, the desoto adventurer and 60 plymouth wagon, most of the others were ertl and monogram
went on the work in collision and restoration for my career, 54 and retired now,
nice work on the model, looks good
Thanks for the tip messy! The interior had some positive mounting holes so I’m pretty sure it was in the right spot. It’s just an old kit and fit wasn’t all that important back then. Take care, I appreciate you watching and commenting 👍
Your AMC look awesome Sir!!!👌👌👌
Thanks so much Willy! I appreciate your support 👍
Old kits.... How did we get em done as kids?
Well done brother.
That’s for sure Nitro! Some of the parts had no positive connection points so a big heap of testors cement would have had to be used and a days worth of drying time. It’s nice to have the selection of glues we have today. Thanks for watching👍
That came together really nicely!i enjoyed watching it from start to finish.
Thanks so much for your support Curtis👍
Damm you James!! I thought that you was sending it to me!! Lol 😂!! I love it brother and you are the Man!!😊
Dude, It wasn't mine to give away! I will talk with him about the remaining parts for you though...
@Scale Model Experiment James that would be awesome brother!! Love you man ❤️
Another beautiful build ! Hope to see you again next year at the NNL east.
Thank you so much, I’ll be there… we can hang out more. Thanks for watching 👍
What a work of art absolutely beautiful
Thank you Carl, the owner at the end of the video really enjoyed it as well. Thanks for watching 👍
Great looking build!
Thanks so much Cardz for watching 👍
That build came out great! Looks like a great kit to begin with. Would be awesome if it were somehow reissued. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Alan, thank you for watching. It does make for a nice shelf model.👍
can't hear you, otherwise nice video
Sorry about that John, I'll fix that aspect for the next video. I appreciate you watching.
Sharp! Very well done.
Thank you for your support David, I really appreciate it!
Nice! Love the tip about tape on the windshield. I'm kinda novice at this. May I ask what's the benefit of using different glues?
Hi Amateure, the tape windshield idea isn’t mine. I stole it from Paul at ISM it works well. I use solvent glue when I join two painted pieces or bare plastic. For windows and chrome pieces you risk either the glue not setting or making a mess of the pieces. That’s why I use white glue for chrome and the rhinestone adhesive which is water based on windows. It wipes right off before dry and doesn’t stain or mar the plastic. I hope this helps… thanks for watching 👍
@@ScaleModelExperiment thanks very much! That helps tremendously.
It explains a lot of my problems.
Awesome work. Looks so great. 😊😊😊
Thank you for watching! I appreciate the support!
Beautifully done.🤓👍
Thanks so much for your support ModelCars. I appreciate it.
Love that tape handle trick for the glass. I'm surprised you don't see more guys using that! 🙃
I stole that tip from Paul at ISM RUclips channel. It works well. Thanks for watching 👍
@@ScaleModelExperiment Paul is a great builder. I watch him too.
Beautiful work
Thanks so much Stig! The owner really appreciated the build at the end. 👍
Wow she looks amazing
Thank you Travis👍
Beautiful meticulous work as usual, looks great! The tape handle idea for putting the glass in is genius.
Thank you for watching Antithesis. I stole that tip from Paul at ISM channel. It works very good.👍
Great idea! I will adopt it going forward! 😎👍
Now I know what color to use on my AMC V8. Thank you, James.
Thanks for watching JD, I’m not sure it’s a 100% match color wise but it’s pretty close and not too expensive.👍
Having owned three Javelins and a 68 AMX, I can say yes, that is very close to the AMC engine blue. 😎👍
Looks cool.
Thanks for watching GoForIt 👍
Sweet ride and video is well put together 👏
Thank you so much for watching 👍
Your welcome
Hi again James, do you not have issues with Tamiya extra thin not creating a good bond or taking paint off? I find myself scraping paint off most of the time and marring my finish
Describe a good bond to me. Tamiya extra thin joins two painted parts by melting the paint and the plastic into goo at the application point. That’s why I apply it at places that you don’t see. You don’t paint that glue on, just a dab at the joint and it’s done. The models rarely see any abuse so the delicate glue is fine with me.
@ScaleModelExperiment more often than not, if I have two painted parts and let capillary action seep into the join, the parts end up not bonding and fall apart with the slightest touch.
@@scale_model_apprentice hmmm, either you’re using too much or your paint is too thick because the glue is pooling.
@@ScaleModelExperiment okay, I'll see about reducing it down with some tamiya airbrush cleaner
@scale_model_apprentice I found a very old video that shows my body painting technique. My intent for the video was to not use clear but I ended up clearing it later. If I were to do it again, I would have stopped at the third coat when the car was 100% black.

I hope this helps.
Awesome James! That car is not garbage!!!😬 I'm glad to see you doing that old model and it surpasses Dave's high standards in model cars! As usual, you did an excellent job building that model. Can't wait to see what's your next project!!!
Hi Ray, you of all people probably got more out of the video than most because you use the subtitles. I mumble sometimes when I build. Hehe. Thanks for your support bud, I appreciate you 👍
Nice work, James
Thanks Brandon! I appreciate you watching👍
Outstanding as always 👏👏👏👏
Now I’m afraid to build mine
If looks half as good as yours I’ll be happy
That’s for the great videos
Thank you Tim! I’m glad that you enjoyed it. It’s a little different than my normal video style.
spindles up-side down?
Hi Don, I don’t remember but it was probably to get the desired ride height.
@@ScaleModelExperiment looked like the tie-rod might fall off
@donwest5387 unfortunately I don’t have the model any more so I can’t check it.
Looking great James! It’s a shame car’s turn to dust ! They had personality back then! Most cars these days look like bars of soap ! Amazing watching builder’s with shaking hands especially at shows when they display their projects on the tables, then wonder how their builds turn out so great! I forgot about the feeling of putting something on the tables, pure adrenaline and excitement! Dave should be honored to own this beauty! Me jealous! 😎✌️🫡🇺🇸
Hi Kevin, now that you mention it you're right... I shake when I place models on a contest table. Dave is very happy with the build and that is what it was all about. Thanks for watching bud!
@@ScaleModelExperiment you betcha 🫡🇺🇸
