Oh my, my dad was best friends with him, used to race with him in the Butters and Jerrod fuelie from Lakewood, CA. Great memories 👌 sitting in back of push truck holding mechanic rags over my face at the rollers at the starting line. Awesome times, Lions Drag strip forever.
I make custom hot wheels and I want to build one of these and will have to be from the ground up. Thanks for sharing what I need to see to make this car perfect.
I love these old front engine dragsters . But I don't recognize the engine. It's not an old hemi, is it a max wedge ? 'Cause it still looks like a Chrysler to me. And the magneto position is throwing me off, never seen one in that position before.
These older engines were ment for only running a short time, the only thing that keeps it cool the the main air supply that comes in from the blower ports. On newer top fuel dragsters the engines are completely tore down and put together with new parts for every run. You might want to confirm this because I'm not to sure if I got that right.
Slingshot dragsters have always been the coolest form of danger. Your sitting between the rear wheels on top of the dif with the tranny between your legs and a blower right in your face, and if you manage to avoid catastrophic mechanical failure your only safety net is to not fuck up the driving part. I swear to God safety ruined this country.

Where is the Radiator and fan, how does the engine keep from overheating?
It doesn’t run that long.
