Thanks for the introduction to Thomistic metaphysics. I'm relatively familiar with secular metaphysics, which uses terms like "essence", "substance", "accident", "property", and such slightly differently than Thomistic metaphysics does. That's why I was confused when Thomists used those words in ways I wasn't familiar with. Now I know what they mean.

The Thomistic Institute has a great online course, Aquinas 101, that you can take for free. I highly recommend it to those who want to pursue this further. It goes from simple, short segments, to longer talks and recommended readings. As the Institute says: "Because it matters what you think".
