Mark spoon really was a genius. He always seems to be the one with the ideas for the songs and his brain seems to be wired perfectly for electronic dance music. What an incredible talent he was and such a loss for the music world!
🙏 Namaste prestigious5s23 🙏 I had the pleasure of meeting Markus several times .... in Cologne (Warehouse, Empire, Brickhouse / BRIX). When he arrived at Brix, dressed all in white, a friend had the honor of carrying his record box. At that time I was a light jockey at BRIX!
Seminal, timeless electronic music. Anyone here who went clubbing in the 90s is insanely lucky!!!! It will never be the same again. Similar, but not the same!
Ellmer mentions Humate Love Sensation in this interview (which came out before Odyssey To Anyone). Listening to the Love Mix of Love Sensation....it is sooooo similar.
I still listen to these legendary guys, albums and singles by Jam El Mar, DJ Dag, Dance 2 Trance, Jam & Spoon, Storm, I really miss Mark Spoon. Thank you very much for the interview.
For me, Jam&Spoon's main hit is the "Heart of Africa". The iconic, incomprehensible beat and the strange tonality of the bass part have fallen in love with this band forever. A small but tenacious legend of the nineties.
In "Find me" I love the way the chords are playing B major in the start, and when the bass starts it turns out to be an Abm7. And I love the dreaming feeling the Maj7 chords are giving.
I know the vocal sample source Jam El Mar doesn't want to talk about for legal reason. 😅 Union Jack used the same source for their hit Two Full Moons and A Trout.

If you ever get a shot on interviewing the guys behind Salt Tank - Eugina, i would been really interested in hearing them talk about their Patient Saints project. "On Your Mind" is a hidden gem to me.
Would love to, but it doesn’t seem they are traveling and they don’t live anywhere near either, so not sure if this will ever happen. But never say never!
An awesome tune. One of the best timeless classics. I like it even more than Stella and Follow Me. Another great interview. It was good to listen to the information that Rolf shared. I have had the pleasure to meet Rolf a few times and he is a nice guy to chat with.
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the interview! I love talking to Rolf, he has so many great stories about all his fabulous classics! Plus he’s a great guy as well!

We can talk about the "Jam & Spoon" music for hours... Or even more... Days, weeks, months... Jam & Spoon is the most influential electronic duo that ever existed. The track itself is not my favorite, to be honest, but you just can't deny how great it sounds (even nowadays). But, if we talk about the fresh versions (released quite recently) Frankyeffe's version is a pure Techno-Banger! Definitely going to put it in one of my mixes. I adore listening to Rolf Ellmer's interviews and how those interviews are fulfilled with pure positive energy and passion from the old days! Thank you very much, Twan & Rolf! ;-) As always a pleasure!
Thanks a lot Fred! As you can probably tell I'm a massive fan of the Jam & Spoon productions / remixes as well. So each time I get the chance to speak to Rolf, I'm super excited to listen to his stories. Such a legend and a great, super down to earth guy as well! :)

Thank you Ben! And I only focus on hits / big classics for these interviews to be honest. It is hard enough already to get a decent amount of views to cover all the costs I make. So those aren’t really on my list. Plus I only do interviews about originals, not about remixes. Artists rather talk about their own originals instead of remixes they made for someone else. Plus the stories behind originals are much better compared to something that’s “just” a remix request. I don’t say those remixes aren’t good, but for my channel it is just not something that I would like to do. Just being honest!
@@muzikxpress Hello of course I respect your decision not to make videos about remixes although the hands on yello Remix from Jam&Spoon was something special compared to the original. Thanks again for all the videos, Time and costs you spend in this Channel.
9:28 Jam/Rolf doesn't want to talk about vocal samples! Well so many dance & electronic artists have sampled Bulgarian choral music, from Leftfield's Song Of Life through to Bicep's Apricots. None of them have had legal problems that I know of. Perhaps because these are recordings of traditional Bulgarian songs. This track sampled is "Young Vena" performed by Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares. You can find it on the WhoSampled website (and on RUclips) ruclips.net/video/sua7YubaEyo/видео.html. Jump to 23 seconds in that video.

Thank so much! And I only do interviews about big hits / famous classics from the past. I’m spending a lot of time / energy and money on these vlogs, when I do interviews about lesser known tracks the vlogs simply don’t get as much views / attention in order for me to continue this series. Very progressive Trance sound. So far ahead from the Trance that was produced later on.
