Trust me. I got my husky at eight weeks and he was not like this one bit. This was the video I looked up before I began the training, it did not help. Now he's now 11 weeks and does a bunch of these but it was such hard work.

Having a playful puppy is hard to train but the trainer has experienced doggos like her so he knows what to do

I have two trained medical alert service dogs Super smart and loving One does diabetic and heart and can detect cancer the other is in training she does heart and diabetic and she is doing excellent loves learning new skills we are planning to have her taught scent for allergies

I got a 9 weeks old Siberian Husky x Gsd dad. And mom is Belgian Malinois x Gsd looks like a full blooded husky with blue eyes but has the Maligator personality
I have always had mutts , my current pup is a 1/2 husky , a 1/4 Australian Shepard and a 1/4 Collie , a hyper herding dog.
Don't matter all dog's are good pure breed or mix they all good

My husky just isn't interested in the treats I've tried to give her so far! Occasionally she'll work for bits of her kibble.

How long each day do you spend on training?
I've been told anything from 10 minutes to 3 x 15 minute sessions to a half hour to .. basically anything

How long should a daily training session be for a puppy?
Huskys have always been my favorites. Had two of them in the past. The male Husky lived to be 19 years old. My second Husky only lived about two years before she caught some disease the vet said was very very rare needless to say it really hit me hard and broke my heart I still shed tears over her to this day being hopeless and nothing I could do for her. Would love to have another one someday but being on disability I just can't afford the six to eight hundred dollars they want these days for a puppy.

Regular puppy kibble. In this case Royal Canine large breed puppy. Sometimes I add cut up uncooked hotdogs.

I have watched most of your videos and very much impressed with your tips. Even I am following your training methods. Overall fantastic, but all efforts go in vain when I instructs when there are disturbing objects around her especially outside. Would appreciate your suggestion on this. Thanks in advance.
Higher value rewards, fast your dog so they are more hungry, start with distractions further away, introduce distractions later in training, teach your dog leash pressure with prong collar with no distractions so later when there are distractions you have a tool that is more compelling than a treat. This is where positive only methods fail is under distractions. This puppy was taught ecollar pressure at a young age and so therefore if it got distracted I applied pressure as needed to regain focus. These methods are very advanced so you may need to hire a balanced trainer to understand them before you use on your puppy. My lab Rocky was super smart. Just have to have some eggs cooking on the stove, and he’ll learn sit, stand, shake hand, stay all within 2 minutes

I have an 8 week old husky and if my toddler came over like that she would jump at her face and probably bite her. I know they are wild puppies but she's very aggressive towards short little people. Does that happen to you or was she just so distracted with treats. Thank you. I think my puppy is on a more aggressive side then others.

I recently got a husky he’s two month’s old and currently trying to train him, what are some good treats you would recommend?
He doesn't generally use treats, though he does occasionally use a higher value reward like hotdogs. He uses their kibble. Their breakfast/dinner is in that treat pouch, and they earn it through training.

Depends on the dog/puppy. I'll train anywhere from 5-45 minutes. 20-30 minutes is the average. Depends what I'm working on also. Stays take longer obviously lol.

We had to teach our old lab to be gentility before anything else. It’s as simple as hand feeding but when they go to grab it ‘rude’ you say “no” and take it away and try again, they go slower you give it to them with a “yes” 🤷

As soon as they can eat food from your hand you can start training. Few weeks old they should still be with their mom

Well regardless of age you can start training immediately. Always something to teach or to stimulate the dog etc

I have a Belgian malinois mix (3mo) who sits, lays down, comes when called, stays and waits, and is learning heel. I just got him a “brother”, a 10.5 week old husky. Any advice on training the husky? The malinois always wants to play but the husky hasn’t been socialized much and is very possessive. Thanks!
Good day and thanks for the question. I will be honest with you in that getting two young puppies at or about the same time/same age is playing with fire. Most trainers would strongly recommend against it. They can develop littermate syndrome even if they're not from the same litter. I would only let them socialize under strict supervision and very very little time. A puppy playing with another puppy is like smoking crack for them. You as a human will never be as fun and entertaining as another puppy. If you want your puppies engaged with you as a human, both as puppies and especially as adults, and not crazy drive to only playing with other dogs keep them away from the crack pipe. There is a way for them to enjoy each other's company and respect each other without going crazy and yet very very focused on you. If they only know how to live as part of a two dog pack they will not know how to live without the other. Dangerous territory. You need a better bond with the dogs before they bond with each other. Just my humble advice. Don't become Charlie Brown's Mom

You can for sure. Just structure everything including play time. Two puppies is not twice as hard it's 4 times as hard. Not trying to dissuade you or rain on your parade but there are some legit concerns to be aware of. Good luck!

Not sure what you're asking. Train him to talk to you? Like howl? Be careful what you wish for with that one. Have to counter condition a quiet command at the same time or you will create a very annoying barking habit.

They're usually around 700$ from a breeder. At least where I am.
Idk but with covid the demand for dogs went to the roof, I just adopted mine for 1 800$ CAN & it wasn't the highest price I've seen.... Plus add the vet bill and the equipment for home...$$$
@@LifeWithCath05 what, the highest I've seen for a pure bred siberian husky is around 1200 usd. Unless you're wanting like lineage show dogs they shouldn't be that expensive.
Maybe Canada has more regulations that could factor in.

I’m getting a husky soon, but is it a good choice for first time owners? I really what one but hope it’s not a stressful choice and that my family will be be ok with this choice. My family has no experience with dogs 😂 P.S.
Too many factors to answer your question. They can be great dogs but they can also be harder to train. They're very smart and independent. Need lots of training just like any other dog. Get them young and hire a professional trainer ASAP
Usually not recommended for first time owners, they're a fuck ton of work and effort and stress. But there are a lot of factors. But just be aware it's not easy

You put 8 weeks in the title, he's 12 weeks.
My 4 month old husky just keeps looking at me like there’s nothing in his head. At all. I cannot get him to learn I’ve been trying to make him learn stay for three days straight, hour long sessions multiple times a day and he still doesn’t get it.
The hardest is trying to get him to
Learn heel. He knows sit and come. That’s it

Take him out outside every 2/3 hours, let him get familiarized with your neighborhood smell, my about to be 3 month husky was the same way, she still have her accidents here and there but she’s learning little by little. Always keep them on a schedule.
Wait that’s 8 weeks??? Looks like she’s already 3-4 months old…my state doesn’t allow pets under 8 weeks of age,…:puppy has already bonded with breeder by 8 weeks….that’s far too old to start in a new family

Watch my other videos of this dog where we discuss what we believe the true age of the dog. Owner bought the dog off the side of the road from a stranger who found it. They told him the dog was 10 weeks old at that point. 2 weeks later I'm training the dog. After spending time with the dog it's very apparent it's much closer to 8 weeks old in this video. I believe the dog was 6 weeks old when purchased which unfortunately seems to be the norm lately of backyard breeders getting rid of puppies at 6 weeks old. Great job paying attention to detail though 👍🏻🇺🇲
