      Why is the 07 to 11 called the muscle ?

  • @dapsonlou77
    @dapsonlou77 2 года назад +15

    I Upgrade to this car after escaping my 2010 muscle. The car spends more time at the mechanic than at home. My mechanic told me to get the 2012. I ended up with a 2014 camry. I was so excited because it doesn't shake like the muscle when you turn on your ac. Long story short, the car lacks power, the ride is not smooth. The v6 drives better, but Nigerian mechanic will lie to you that V6 is problematic, even though the V6 is better than the 4 cylinder. I got bored with the camry lack of power and switch to a 2012 Eclass. Best move I ever made. I've not been mechanic in over a year. You change your oil once a year, unlike the camry every 3months. The cost of running a Eclass is cheaper than a camry. I found this out after many years of suffering with Toyota because I always see everyone driving it.

      Not sure why you've had so much trouble with your Camrys, they are renowned universally for being uber reliable. I have a 2010 and it costs me $150 a year in basic maintenance. I've owned it for 3 years / 35000 kms. No issues at all. Perhaps yours had poor servicing before you bought it.

    Get the V6 with the 2GR-FE..the 1AR-FE in this 2014 camry will burn oil more than the 2AZ-FE if poorly maintained..you have to change your oil religiously with the recommended oil..0W-20/5W-20/5W-30

    • @ekinefamily4610
      @ekinefamily4610 Год назад

      Whether well maintained or not, the 2AR-FE engine of Camry made in 2010-2011 burns oil at high mileage. It's like Toyota intentionally made some of them burn oil even though you do maintenance timely and properly.
      They'll tell you only 2AZ engines burn oil, but that's a FAT lie.

    Another thing about the check engine light always on,on this car, that's because you mechanic stole your catalyst converter. When ever your 02 censor codes comes on in a Toyota, just know your mechanic has stole your catalyst. I lost so many catalyst to Nigerian mechanic, till I educated my self on it. Always have a mechanic confirm your catalyst before he takes your car and have another one confirm in his presence when he return your car. Know this and know peace.

      It's because of the customs duty you pay. It's 70% of the value of the car. So for instance, if you pay 60million Naira for a brand new G-wagon from Yankee plus 70% Duty, the cost of the car is already 102million Naira on getting to Nigeria Then if you are buying in Nigeria from a dealership they will add their own profit margin to the cost of the car. That's why the princes of brand new cars in Nigeria a ridiculously expensive.

    Nice review. Changing your background will do your videos a lot good. The environment looks too dirty. Also you need to do something about the color of your videos.
    These are the reasons why I think this car don't sell well;
    1. Too low to the ground
    2. Too expensive for what it's worth
    3. Even though they'll tell you 2AR-FE engine does not burn oil, believe me it does. Wait until it hits 200k miles then you'll start seeing it drinking oil just like fuel.
    So if you're going for this car stick with the 6 cylinder engine.

    I see people put bigger tyres on this car in order to improve/increase the ground clearance. What are the disadvantages of the bigger tyres? I read somewhere that it could wear out the transmission faster. Is that true?

    • @234drive
      @234drive  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah that is true...bigger tyres also distort the suspension and the overall drive and feel of the car.

    • @234drive
      @234drive  8 месяцев назад

      The LE has fabric seats while the SE has a mix of leather and fabric. The SE also has a different and more aesthetically pleasing front bumper with fog lights and it mostly comes with paddle shifters and a V6 engine as opposed to the 4 cylinder engine in the LE…that’s the major difference

    As I understand it, Jamaica (where I live) and Nigeria have similar markets in terms of cars. There aren't many of that generation Camries here either because most people opted to get a Marx X instead. So that may be the problem in your case.

    • @ekinefamily4610
      @ekinefamily4610 Год назад

      Cars in Jamaica are similar to that of east and southern Africa, not west Africa. In Jamaica you have lots of cars made for the European, Japanese and South Asia market. Those cars you'll find mostly in East and South Africa. West Africa especially in Nigeria you'll find more cars made for the USA and Canadian market.
