This track is terrific and 38 years later it still holds up. MCA was stupid for not releasing the album. Dan has been gone for 30 years now.. this album needs to see the light of day!
Yeah Dan was so good my friend my Helen and I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days, and I hope God bless you to have a great day today, I'm Roy from happy camp California and you where are you from ?
Hermoza música de la generación de antes❤❤aunque soy de lo 90 siempre siempre me a gustado de chiquitita alcance a escuchar estas hermosas musicas, comparado la música del día de hoy a nadie👎
21 shigeno all we have is the memories of this great song and others he recorded in the past dan Hartman passed away march 22nd 1994 he was amazing singer with great talent he will always be one of my favorites may he rest in peace his music will forever live on
They didn't release the album because it didn't fit his "image". How did this song not fit his image? Dan definitely would have benefited in this day and age for artists being able to self release music. Not sure how this didn't end up on a Dan Hartman compilation with added unreleased songs!
His MCA messed up BIG TIME not releasing this project! That label never did really know what to do with their artists. This had everything it needed, and he wasn't writing just to be a "Pop tart"!
Back in 1986, Dan Hartman wasn't signed to Elektra. He was signed to MCA Records. It was MCA who decided not to release this song. All artists, formerly on the MCA label have since been absorbed into Geffen Records, due to their artists' roaster sale to Seagram's back in 1997, which formed Universal Vivendi and now operates as Universal Music Group. Universal had to retire the MCA trademarked logo because it wasn't included as part of the 1997 merger with Seagram's and Seagram's didn't want to have to pay the former owners licensing fees for every product they released bearing MCA's logos.
@@robbiestewart89 i wrote Elektra cause that style was totally what Elektra released back then. But yes Dan was with MCA since « I can’t dream about you » yes !

Hope you don't mind me asking my friend
This woulda been a good chill hit. The industry let Dan down. He did so much for other artists but when it was his turn no one showed up...😢

relaxing 80's music... really breezes through your soul... a breath of fresh air in an excuritatingly fake and depressing world we live in today
One of the best voices ever! EVVVEEERRR! Roooaaaarrrr!
1986? This would have been a total mega-hit back then.
😘😘😘🌺🌺🌺 R.I.P Dan. Beautiful music lives forever.
Dan if your record label had only released this you would have enjoyed some serious airplay. Rest in peace.
The tempo change at 1:50 is brilliant. ... Great tune. ...
This song would have been so hot if it had been released. It’s still hot today !
Crazy this album got buried.
I want to see his dream today.

MCA made a huge mistake not releasing the 'White boy' album

out of interest how did you get the track and where can i get more of this album?
Thanks to Jonathan
Does Elektra still exist, or is it defunct, or has it been absorbed by another record company?

Remenber my time
This stuff sounds like hall and oates (no joke)
They were all friends and Dan wrote his biggest hit for Hall and Oates and they rejected "I can dream about you" so he recorded it himself.
Umderated artist kinda a poor mans daryl hall
