I'd never owned a mirrorless or DSLR in my life before August 2018, but then I bought a Q10, for 15,000 yen (about $135) at Ohnuki second hand camera store in Yokohama, which also sold me the Q 01, 02 and 03 lenses, for $25 each. It really has helped me learn a lot about photography, because of the extensive DSLR level features. And also, I've got hemiplegia, so I didn't wanna be lunking around a full-frame all, day, because I knew it'd just wear me out. I now own all the cameras in the series, and the 01,02,03,06,07, and 08 lenses. The 02 lens doesn't get as much love as the other lenses, but I really, really like it. I also did buy a second hand Ricoh GR digital iii for $50, purely because it fills in for the Pentax Q9 macro lens, that was never released. That's a terrific camera, too. But I'm not planning on buying another camera before 2025, as I think I can learn so much, and really enjoy myself, with the Q system. Nice review - thanks and stay safe! Best wishes from Japan.

I love the lens on this little camera. My little video of it seems to show that it's still popular. Keep up the good work. :)

The Q is a great camera!
I’d love to see you do a video using that 300mm to shoot the moon with it!
    Great video!😀👍

I still have two Q7s. It's amazing how many features are crammed into such a small body.
Edit: I wish someone made a micro-four thirds to Pentax Q lens adaptor. I think my Olympus lenses would work well on the Q as they are amazingly sharp, and made for a high pixel density, as the Q can be quite unforgiving with some older lenses.

@Brian, any luck finding a Micro 4/3 to PQ adapter? I just got a Q10 and have a couple of Olympus lenses which I also think would work well.

Thanks for the review and explanation, and very nice images! Looks like a great place to hike. There is a lot to be said for having a small camera that produce good image quality as it's more likely to be close at hand when an opportunity arises. Although I didn't see it covered in your review, I understand the Q10 offers RAW (.dng) capture, which I always use in my DSLR's because of the file's much higher bit depth, and the Q10 appears to be capable of 10.9-bit dynamic range, about 7.5X higher than an 8-bit jpg.) Nice to know there's a k-mount lens adapter; I have a Pentax pancake lens that might work well. A question would be, cameras I've had with the small sensors don't do well with noise in low light at anything much above native ISO (e.g., Canon SX50HS, Lumix DMC Z8 etc.), and I was wondering what the lowest Q10 ISO setting is and how high you can go before running into noise issues in shadows, if you have any observations on that. What I tend to do on my SX50 is bottom out ISO, shoot in RAW, and pull detail out of shadows in post processing. I guess this would work for the Q10 as well.

I would buy this in heart beat if they increased the sensor size for 2021..I love the lens size and cannot stand to bring my big lenses while travelling..to me this is an underrated and relevant system for 2021...

I am looking for a q10 for the everyday camera in the backpack. I love my K-3, but some times it is a bit big running around, and I have missed some shots. I am looking forward to more on this Q vids. Thanks!

Really interested in getting one of these. I have a few questions can you do RAW files instead of JPEG s?... I really like to do whatever I can in camera but want the flexibility. Last what type of memory card SD or CF?

Hi Lee. What is the common issue of these cameras? I remember there was an internal part that, after some years, ceased to work. What is the name of it? Thank you so much in advance for your help!!!
