- The Zapier Email Parser is a way you can integrate with tools that don’t even have a Zapier integration.
In short, you use it to trigger workflows based when you receive an email.
This video shows you how to set up Zapier Email Parser following through an example of the WordPress plugin Contact Form 7 - but you can use this to automate workflows with almost ANY email as a trigger

No problem!
Awesome video!!
You have showed and tested with gmail.
Will zapier email parser work for outlook with forward as well?
Please let me know, thanks.
Ahh, thanks so much! I was stuck with how to get my Gmail to map right. This was super helpful.
Happy to help :)
It's so weird, I can get it to work with everything but names...🤦🏻♀️ it gives me the whole string with name and address
@@JamieRiene it's kind of hard to know what is happening without actually seeing it. For that to happen it sounds like all the text is in one column
Great Tutorial! Love it. Quick question: So I want to use a Welcome email sent to New customers from my POS system to pull out the Customer Name and Email address. These welcome emails are cc'd to my company email so I have access to all these emails. The Customer name part is easy because the email contains the new customers name. I'd like to use the To: field of the email to bring in the customer's email address. Possible?
I thought I replied to this. Guess I never hit send. Sorry
I don't know for sure but I'd just test it. Create a Parser inbox, cc it in, and see what data comes through to Zapier. Hopefully the 'to' address is there. I have a feeling it will be!
I need help from ur see can u please help us, sir
So after this is set up, do we have to set up another zap or email forwarding to make sure we aren't manually forwarded emails? Thank you for this video!
I'm not following. Where would the manually forwarded emails come from?
Hey Jimmy, your video was reaally helpfull. I have a doubt. The think is i have created a zap to extract some information from an email to send it to a worksheet from Excel and add new row. So I created a table and i matched the fields correctly. Once i tested, Zapier said that the info was sent, but excel only have fill out only two columns. I have shared the document with the parsier account to see if its a sharing problem, but i dont know what to do so far. Thanks!
Glad to hear it Simon. It's hard to say without seeing your setup, but if the data isn't getting in the spreadsheet, make sure the trigger test data is all populated, and double check the config where you add those data points to the spreadsheet action
Hi i'm new to zapier, and was wondering if there's a way to automatically send a file to someone that inputs their email? Hope this makes sense. Thanks!
Hi Zella. Yeah it should be, but not with the email parser. Your trigger would have to be whatever app is collecting the email address. The action would be Gmail or some other app that can send email on your behalf
Does Zapier support triggering a zap based on scanning for matches of email address between an zapier and a connected app, like Airtable?
It depends on the app. e.g. Gmail has a "when email matches search" trigger. There's a "when tweet matches search".
With Airtable you'd have to use "record updated" followed by a filter that checks for the email address
thx for the great video, I need the Parser for Notion - but it includes the attachments only as a link .... any Idea ?
Some actions will try to automatically download a file from a link. If yours doesn't I don't think there is an easy solution
@@_jimmyrose thx for you quick repl. - NOTION as target does only support the link with a "zip" file ... :-(
@@Bali4you damn that sucks. Could be possible to use Integromat instead. They have an action to download a file
@@Bali4you it also sounds like Zapier should work reading this zapier.com/help/create/basics/send-files-in-zaps
Have you tried asking their support?
Jimmy... I have create a client folder and I want zapier to email my client every time I add a new file into that folder... Can I actually do that on Zapier?
Zapier won't email your clients directly but you can use a service like Active Campaign or Postmark
Can you generate a password and username when someone registers to a course? Thank you
It depends what system you are using. With something like teachable or thinkific you can use our Zapier to register them as a student and it will send their username and password
JimmyRose.me - Automation & Software Thank you for the answer, I appreciate it. I am using learndash. I am trying to find a plugin that works for this automation. Tx
@@leecurcio6132 I use WP Fusion with my LearnDash setup. It's ace. Need to do a video on it!
how to parse an attachment?
parseur.com/ can help
It's just not super intuitive. Maybe I can learn this one from you
Do you mean the parser or the video?
@@_jimmyrose The parser. I've never had luck getting it to actually grab the words that I highlighted. Maybe it's me. ;)
