Re-review on the Milwaukee Tool Quik-Lok Edger Attachment. (Better than I first Thought!)

  • This is the second review for the Milwaukee Quik-Lok Edger attachment. I have been edging my yard for the past month or so, and it has been dominating the landscape.
    Super light weight and easy to use. I wanted to see if it would work just as well with the Milwaukee 3.0 High Output battery, and it even went through muddy clay soil like a beast.

    No, this video is awesome, this is the first video that used a lower ah battery and I watched you go forward and backwards with a battery operated edger with no issues. Wow, thank you my mind is made up on what to purchase next. HD has a kit for $439 with 4 attachments and a 8ah battery, the battery alone is $199.

    and be careful not to tuck the powerhead under your arm pit,this will cause over heating,the cooling slots are small on the head,otherwise the thing is a beast great run time with the big batt,all the attachments work awesome!! very happy with this unit and highly recommend to all milwaulkee fans.

    Had a ryobi battery edger and the blades are made out of pot metal and wear down in 15 feet, horrible! I had this trimmer for years and finally bought the Milwaukee edger attachment and SO glad I did. Handles my mulch beds so much better than the trimmer. Very glad I finally bought. Blades are actually made out of metal.

    Thanks for your video. I had an issue with mine right out of the box. I could hear and feel the spline spinning in the shaft but the edger blade did nothing. From your review I was able to see the sticker placement on the shaft in relationship to the edger head. Turns out Milwaukee installed the shaft off by 90 degress. After loosening the 2 screws at the bottom of the shaft and removing the middle screw which is a set screw so I could see the hole it supposed to go into. Once lining it up CORRECTLY and reinstalling the set screw CORRECTLY (thanks assembly team for Milwaukee for your top notch quality control) and then retightend the 2 other screws it works perfectly.
    When I first put the edger on the quik-lok head I thought it was odd that is was at such a weird angle but figure that is what milwaukee intended turns out the just dropped the ball.

    Good vid there Clint. I only have the pole saw and hedge trimmer attachments and I too had a hard time attaching the hedge trimmer and an even harder time removing it. I think the problem with removing the hedge trimmer was the fact that it's top heavy and puts pressure on the connection point. I had to lay the the entire tool on my work bench to relieve the stress from that point and pull like heck to get it apart. The pole saw attachment attached and removed very easily. I hope Milwaukee addresses this issue before upgrading again. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

    i love the quite high frequency sound of the spinning blade minus the roaring fuel engine drive. Ohh, that's only consolation, we never have to deal pulling cord over and over starting the engine. My brother decided to order this attachment too after he got blown away with the whacker and pole saw performance. And guess what? He's going to fire his gardener once he purchased the hedge trimmer attachment :(((...Another nice review Clint

    Hi TRZ.
    I sometimes have issues with hooking up my attachments too. I believe it's just the "male" and "female" parts of the shaft not meshing up JUST right. I ordinarily just give the trigger a wee flick to spin the shaft a bit and it seems to line everything up nice. Give that a go.

      @@ToolReviewZone I have the hedge trimmer and have been using it for tall grass and weeds and it works great. My old B&D pole hedge trimmer was okay on weeds but would not cut grass. This thing wacks through everything with no issues. I like using it for the high stuff much more so than a string trimmer - especially on my high driveway banks. As for attaching the components, I have the same issue some times with the Quik-Lok pole chain saw AND the extension pole. It seems to be a simply case of the internal drive spline not quite lined up. In almost every case if I just hit the trigger on the motor unit the attachment will then slide right in.

    • @ToolReviewZone
      @ToolReviewZone  5 лет назад

      I had a few subscribers say that the hedge trimmer is a bit too slow, but others think that they may be using it on the low setting. I'm going to use it in the field, trees and hedges to see how it does. I'll try what you said about readjusting the shaft. For some reason, the edger is the only attachment that does this to me

    Been thinking about getting an edger for a while, but a bit worried about the possible deviation could cause! I use a Husqvarna 535LK pro combi and it has shed load of power. Enough to run a mulching blade and clearing saw! Definitely don't want to take out any more expensive windows!😂
