    I have the stihl km130 kombisystem unit with the tiller/cultivator
    attachment, the rubber paddle broom, the bristle broom, the string
    trimmer, edger, 145 degree articulating hedge trimmer, the pole saw and I
    have two 3 foot carbon fiber extensions. No matter what tool I use or
    how hard I push this thing it never bogs down or loses power. I like
    this kombi unit better than the dedicated units because the engine on
    this km130 is 36.3 cc 1.9 HP and you can use the same powerful engine to
    run all of the tools and save storage space and money by not having to
    maintain multiple engines. I used to have 5 or 6 dedicated units and
    they took up alot of storage space, now I can literally fit this whole
    kombi system in a golf club bag. This kombi system is well worth the
    money and it's worth paying the few extra dollars for the bigger engine,
    (110, 111, 130, 131).

    I have one it works good in certain situations. If the grounds semi soft it’s the ticket. You get it on some hard pack or clay and you might as well leave it in the trailer and grab a edging shovel. That’s just my personal opinion. Looks good though! Nice work

      my kombi is about a month old. i have a problem with it flooding. it starts very easy from cold but if i kill it, wait a few minutes and try to restart with no throttle or choke, it floods. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

    • @brianptighe
      @brianptighe 5 лет назад

      @@davidandcarolh I have the kombi and several other small engine tools. Sounds like it might not be flooded but just the opposite and starved for fuel. Press the rubber fuel bulb until you feel pressure, and pull the cord with throttle engaged and choke on. When you hear it kick over (but not start), turn choke off. Most non-start issues are due to old gas. Remove old gas and top off with new, preferably non-ethanol gas. Mixed properly with oil of course. Make sure the air filter is clean.

    We do commercial and residential lawn care/landscaping and have the Echo redefiner and had to buy a new combo head and bought this attachment and I will say the Sthil performs better. We bought the KM 131 and I think that makes a big difference too with more power. The Echo does ok but the Sthil digs deeper and a wider path and doesn't clog as easy. We make two passes and on the second pass we turn the unit into the bed and it gives a nice wide deep cut where as the Echo would only get us about a 3" or so bevel.

    I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

    • @RayboyFirst
      @RayboyFirst 3 года назад

      Yes, it may seem expensive up front, however Stihl will work for you plus 10 years! Is $35/season expensive? I replaced two off brand string trimmers in one season when my repair guy said they were dead at $150 each. Moral of story...cheap equipment up front costs much more money!

  • @jimshorts5970
    @jimshorts5970 3 года назад

    Interesting attachment. In 20 yrs of commercial mowing I never knew this existed, and I had all Stihl products including the split shaft. Prob would never use it commercially as you’re in a hurry and the trimmer works fine for this. Most customers who had nicer lawns used the green metal edging, or black plastic edging for their beds as it keeps your mulch in and the grass out.

    I bought a house last year with existing curved beds all over with the natural edge. I paid someone last year (lots of other stuff to do!). I haven't gotten out there this year as I'm waiting for painters to finish with the outside of the house.
    My concern with these natural edges is how do I keep this from expanding year after year? Even if a 1/2 is taken off each year you end up loosing 5 inches after 10 years.
    Another concern is you end up kicking the dirt out say 12 inches or so, so from the house it slopes down then piles up then back down bringing rain back toward the house in lieu of way from the house.
    Am i wrong? Do I just need to fix the grading issue I have here and make sure the edge does not grow?

    Is there a reason you go backwards ? I tried once and it felt uncomfortable.

    Cheaping out a few years ago and not getting the kombi a few years ago is going to make this year expensive

      It's expensive to get started. Look on Craiglist, I find a lot of attachments there for sale from people breaking up sets. You can get a good deal, buy the powerhead new or like new and you can save some money there. The attachments are hard to break so they are usually great used.
