Rodion acts aloof and jokes around to hide how she truly feels. It’s a coping mechanism, a false sense of confidence and control she wants to think she has. Canto II’s story is kinda all over the place but that’s the general gist of her trauma. Oppression from the upper class left her no choice but to convince herself she has any control over her life.
I like that Rodya has no jokes or funny things in her song and it mirrors her truly identity and how she feels actually... I love how credit songs show characters!!
This is still my favorite pass on to this date. Its the most calming of them all and rodya's singing is just so soothing. Its a shame that most people dont like her chapter by the fact its just a filler chapter (which i agree it is) but i can argue that the chapter set the game's tone and how goofy and dysfunctional the sinners are
People don't like her chapter? I thought it was more of a case that it just doesn't have the impact the other chapters do due to it being fairly lighthearted, which imo makes sense since it's only Chapter 2 and we'd still be settling in with our cast.
Rodion’s trauma is in the chapter… it’s just not up front. It mirrors how Rodion is good at hiding her true feelings from others until it comes out in a violent burst. She acts aloof, carefree, and confident to hide her concerns from others. She doesn’t want to burden others with her own problems. She wasn’t always this way either. Rodion used to be softspoken but solid in her beliefs. She’s now the opposite of that ever since she murdered the tax collector. I think she’s one of the more misunderstood sinners. Her trauma is subtle but definitely there and eating away at her. She has let her mask of airheaded confidence slip a few times, even in later chapters. Once in Yi Sang’s chapter, and another in Intervallo 3
Jumping without looking... Of course, she will come to regret some things she has done. What is cast is done. But that kind of attitude is something most of us lack, taking action before any adversity. And that makes her better than most of us.
