Made the mistake to stop by one of their flagship stores a few years ago to check the products for a few minutes. Took me two hours to get out again. The amount of detail knowledge on a store level was pleasantly surprising. On the price side of the argument, they do have seasonal sales which should bring down your spending enough
I don’t buy these new, I buy them second hand but they really are fantastic. I can wear a Isaia suit like I’m wearing a t shirt. They have such great quality fabrics and they move with your body really well. If I could afford to buy some of them brand new I probably would
Never really knew much about Isaia until watching this video yesterday. I got on ebay afterwards and found a sport coat I really liked. The seller made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I just bought it. Can't wait for it to get here!
As with Attolini, Kiton or Brioni: If you know which of their sizes fits you quite well, buy your Isaia jacket/suit used and get it altered. If you can't be bothered visiting one of their stores to get a sense for their sizing conventions: take your 3 - 5000 bucks and go to reputable bespoke tailor. I've spent a good amount of years now living the sartorial life and if there's one thing I've grown tired off, it's seeing people wearing well made, expensive ready-to-wear items that don't fit well. The jacket that Raphael is wearing in this video clearly shows, that, while tolerable, the fit is far from 3000$-good.
Most of the things he wears don't fit him well at all, seems he likes that sort of "fit". isaia stuff fits pretty great if you're in shape and get the proper size.
One thing I do love about their jackets is the high gorge/button stance and the corresponding shorter lapels. I really like that look. Their lapels also all look like the perfect width.
Gentlemen’s Gazette is essential viewing...if you really care...I enjoy the honest, forthright vibe...plenty of good advice you can use or lose if you desire...very nice.

I love Isaia. Twice a year you can catch a sample sale in ny and la, also ebay has Tons of nwt and nwot Isaia for ip to 90% off. Shop smart my brothers
Cheers Sven, good video especially the sizing advice. As a younger guy I respect Isaia for sticking with such a distinctive house style and integrating it into the modern era with a lot of their more casual suits, ones that you can wear with some nice sneakers and a t-shirt on a summer day and still look distinguished while being totally comfortable. I keep my eye out all the time for those deep discount sales, there seems to be a continuous supply of deeply discounted NWT past season items out there from brands like Cucinelli, Isaia, Zegna, even Brioni.
I inherited Isaia suit from my grandfather, so they literally make jackets that my grandfather would wear.😁 Anyway, it's very British-style, navy blue, double-breasted suit which was made-to-measure in mid 1980s. It was made as a summer suit for British summer, so it has lining and pants aren't as slim as ready-to-wear Isaia ones, and from afar or if you are not into menswear, you would think it's just Saville Road suit with some italian touches. My grandfather used to be a politician, Conservative MP from Birmingham area, and when he won elections, he was told he should look the part to represent his constituency. Which was for him, tweed-wearing, ford cortina-driving, lower middle-class gentleman, kinda uncomfortable. He thought this "peacocking" was unnecessary. But even when he was driving Jaguar and wearing his Isaia suit, people still flogged to him and he won 2 consecutive elections after that. That pretty much tells me that good, quality clothes just enhance, what kind of person you really are, they don't make you good or bad.
Greetings Sven & Company. I love your channel and I started following pretty recently. Have you done a video or videos on whether Savile Row, Turnbull & Asser and Pini Parma are worth it? I would love to hear your insights. Thanks for the good work. Cheers
Anything from a company with a strong brand is never going to be worth it in terms of value so the question is whether you're interested in the brand. For me, I'd rather put my money to a suit that was just as well made but from a company with smaller margins.
Something MTM from Orazio Luciano (former cutter at Kiton) is probably cheaper than a RTW Isaia. I have a couple of suits and coats from the former and the turn around time was three months (pre-Covid times). Orazio and his son, Pino, do trunk shows.
I adore Isaia jackets, but only at second hand prices. I have three of their sport coats - all three were bought for under $700 total. Super soft, very comfortable, but I concur, I’d recommend sizing up.
I’m a tailor for more then 40 years work with Isaia suits at Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. They hand work is Not so good. For me the best Italian suits it’s Brioni Stefano Ricci and Tom Ford.
Could you please make a list of the Italian bespoke tailors you know? Not the well known Rubinacci, Isaia and Attolini, obviously. I’d like to visit them, since I am passionate about men's clothing. Thank you
The neapolitan sentence you used at the beginning means "you're taking to long to do this, hurry up" To figure this better you can imagine tens of retired southern Italian (don't know if this happens also in the north) men in what should resemble a line that are asking the man at the post office not to talk about the family members of each "client" that is there to retire his money, and so they are asking the employee to "do it before the sun sets".
I recently bought a Ralph Lauren purple label sport coat that is 100% cashmere and hand made in Italy. I estimate that it would probably sell for about $5,000 retail, perhaps even more. It is not vintage but is maybe 2 or 3 years old. I bought it on eBay from a consignment store located in California and paid $330 for it. It's a beautiful coat and I like it very much. I bought it because I wanted to see what you get for thousands of dollars. However, I must say that I have many other sport coats that are pretty darn well made and good looking that I paid far, far less for. These are brand new coats that retail for $400 to $500 that I paid as little as $50 to $100 on sale. Compared directly to the expensive Italian coat I can't really see or feel much difference. There is a difference, but it is definitely not worth thousands of dollars. I suppose paying that much money for clothing is mostly an ego booster for those who have more money than they know what to do with. Regular folks can benefit hugely when the very well-heeled clean out their closets and lose a ton of money in the process.
I guess needing to go up one size must be an across the board thing with Italian suits. My U.S. suit size is 40, but I have a couple of Canali suits in size 52.
It is nice to have high quality materials and then have it altered by an excellent tailor as fit is more important than style or even the quality of the fabric.
Very nice jacket. Interesting to see. I have a shirt of theirs and like another Italian one I have the buttons are badly sown on, but otherwise nice. Fit is good.

They are made right if your looking for a company that is going to do everything exactly as it should be. The price is inflated because they have a reputation and are known. There are other companies that make products equal in quality. You have plenty choices in bespoke if you really want to take that journey. The product is not a ten out of ten. It’s simply right. Think on that for a second to understand what I’m trying to convey. Other suit jackets will have the same horse hair (canvas) to ensure the drape is right and might even be hand made too.
I don’t think so. Would rather buy a Balmain blazer. Have two of them. They are so well made. Solid. Beautiful inside lining too. You can feel the quality right away. Every time I wear one of them I get compliments. Mostly from women. Every time.

If you give a man a suit, you dress him for 20 years. If you teach a man how to cut, sew and assemble a suit, he'll be dressed for a lifetime. Gents! Please, if you have the time in your lives, living lax and not under pressure. If you're young like me and haven't been swallowed by the corporate world yet and have an abundance of time, learn to sew. Learn to draft a suit. If you do it yourself at home and do it well, you technically own a bespoke suit. It's just like assembling a chair.

Is it? 🤔 I’m kind of a cheapskate. I could get 4 ‘custom’ suits at MenzWearhouse and they throw in a ‘free’ ill-fitting ready-to-wear suit during sales. …or I could buy 2 oz of gold 🟡🟡 or 150 oz of 🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙. So there’s a real opportunity cost to buying this amazing jacket. 🤔
appart from the fact that a lot of people can spot a really cheap suit from miles away and it usually won't last as long and won't feel as comfortable, not really.
I feel like this is an unnecessary dichotomy. It's like saying why go to a 3 Michelin star restaurant when you can get dozens of Big Macs at McDonalds. You can...but you can also go to a decent family owned restaurant and get a delicious fillet mignon for $25. Same with this. I'd rather save some money and get one great suit from Collaro than 5 near worthless suits from MenzWearhouse. I've already made that mistake in the past and it's not worth it
Fabric quality doesn't matter if it doesn't fit you. A 50$ blazer from whatever thrift store will always get more compliments if (for some reason) it fits you better than the abomination the spoker is wearing in this video. This is a fact. Cope all you want.

If you're young like me and haven't been swallowed by the corporate world yet and have an abundance of time, learn to sew. Learn to draft a suit. If you do it yourself at home and do it well, you technically own a bespoke suit. It's just like assembling a chair.
I'm just a subscriber, but my 2¢.....a video on if a $4,000 suit is worth it is just outside of my price point. 🤷
They can be found used for much less, if you can find a good enough tailor to make the alterations needed.
Hey 👋👋👋
Please do not try to say whatever you were trying to say in Italian at 1.25 again . It was mostly gibberish . DM me and I will reply with what the Italian should have sounded like . Anyway Clothes . Excellent vid for a bit of Friday evening man cave/kitchen in my case relaxation. All the best Richard

To be a gentlemen, you don't have to be rich. Stay hygeine and use washed clothes with ironing. This over priced suits are too much
I've already made that mistake in the past and it's not worth it
@@DemetriosLevi that might be true but this brand is nothing more than gucci i can go to savile row with these prices!
It’s been “0” days since Raphael mentioned he has a big bum and thighs.
You can get a custom shirt & suit for less. Prices are ridiculous.
To me? Positively definitely not
Nothing wrong with a big bum! Ridiculous prices though.
Way out of my price range.
Fabric quality doesn't matter if it doesn't fit you. A 50$ blazer from whatever thrift store will always get more compliments if (for some reason) it fits you better than the abomination the spoker is wearing in this video. This is a fact. Cope all you want.
