    I agree.. Troy is one of my best friends.. that stolen renamed marketed "Carolina Reaper" from Ed is a complete watered down rip off of Troy. Ed keeps paying Guinness to keep that title.

      I’m in Gainesville Florida. This is my first year growing peppers. I started the seeds late (in April) before I knew people start them before the last freeze. I guess we can grow them almost year around though down here. I’m growing Jalafuego jalapeños and Candy Cane sweet peppers. The plants are thriving in 3 gallon containers with Fox Farms Happy Frog soil. I added some 10-10-10 granular slow release fertilizer. I picked a lot of the early flowers off of each plant. Now I’m letting them grow wild. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks y’all.

      Oh and I forgot to mention, the spot I have them gets shade in the morning until about 11 A.M. they are then in full sun for the rest of the day. I know it’s not ideal but it’s convenient to have them in that area.

    At the moment for me the chocolate primotali reigns supreme as of about a week ago. It was only the third chocolate primotali I ever had, 2 last year but the one that I ate a week ago gave me the wildest reaction I have ever had from any pepper ever, and definitely knocked the socks off the Carolina Reaper. As for the red primotali, I've had dozens of those, and I will say that the burn is quite sharper than any Carolina Reaper I have ever had, but for me the heat rises, Peaks, and drops quicker than the Carolina Reaper, but the reaper does linger quite a bit longer. But you are right about the chocolate one, they are much bigger and that could account for why they seem much hotter to those of us who have tried both chocolate and red. Great review:-)

      People who regularly eat hot peppers don’t develop a resistance. After a while their bodies know what to expect and doesn’t freak out anymore. It still hurts the same.

    I’ve had all the standard grocery store peppers hottest being habanero and I’ve had a few super hots like the ghost, the scorpion and the Carolina reaper but I’ve never had a primatoli, looks wild with that long tail. It didn’t seem to faze you. Good job.👍🏻

    I've eaten many upon many primotalii from so many growers.. some I've found pretty hot but not the hottest I've eaten until.. UNTIL.. I got ones from Heath Thompson.. his red, Chocolate and Goldens are WAAAYYYY hotter than anything I've ever had. Believe it or not the red was the least hot of the three from him.

If not, I am growing them and I have tons of them on my plants right now, and if you would want a couple of them, if you paid for the shipping, I'll send you out a few and I'll even include a couple of my red ones which are blazing spicy this year.

    I’m fairly new to the pepper game…. Can someone please explain why it seems like hardcore pepper people are against Ed Curry and the Carolina Reaper? From what I’ve seen it sounds like Ed stole the Reaper from Troy Primo but I can’t figure it out.

  • @PreatorRaszagal

    If you weighed a red and a chocolate one and they were both the same size and heat level, wouldn't it be down to just red vs chocolate burn? I've never had a chocolate pod, so I can't really say which is worse (but I guess it could also be a personal thing). It looked really gnarly though! Also, awesome t-shirt 👌

    Hey man, this is my first year growing peppers. Well, actually growing anything at all lol. I’m in Gainesville Florida zone 9a. I’m growing Jalafuego jalapeños and Candy Cane sweet peppers in 2-3 gallon pots. I picked a lot of the early flowers and now letting them go wild. Should I try to over winter a couple of them? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    • @capsaiyan
      @capsaiyan  Год назад +1

      If you end up liking the plants a lot, yes you can overwinter them. Although those varieties may appreciate a 5 gallon pot if you have the space and would like a larger harvest. Overwintering in Florida is pretty easy, you just bring them indoors/protect them before/during frosts and they’ll do fine! Just remember to use fresh potting mix during repot or to fertilize once your current potting mix is depleted of nutrients. Thanks for watching.

    I cant tell which is hotter after you get to Ghost pepper and Scorpion pepper levels. They are just hot, one does not seem hotter than the other after that point, for me, the only difference I can judge is whether I like the taste or not, most super hots taste gross imo.
