Perfect!!!! We just lost my dad last month and he was an artist. Able to use multiple techniques and tools etc. Everything from paint to pencil. Portraits to professional signs. My dad was a huge lover of the Wild West. So to salute him I am making a old west themed cook station for my ceramic egg cooker. I made a table for it and so far so good. I am planning to try to make a small sign that I can attach to the cook station with his name on it. I am planning on surprising my entire family with an unveiling of it and a celebratory first cook on the smoker. Wish me luck! Thanks for sharing.
You know... for a 5 minute video this was exactly what I needed! :D Well done! And thank you for putting in all those links in your description, that was very helpful!
you were the first video i looked at to learn how to even use a wood burning tool and i just LOVED your video oh my goodness i really loved it u were right straight to the point and your work was amazing and the way u filled in the letters and the way u spoke gave me confidence to finally use my wood burning tool that has been sitting on my desk since my birthday that my best friend gave it me lol thank you so much for your video AMAZING
Newbie here....thank you for being informative, timely, and precise. Your video was a pleasure to watch and I learned new tips. I love that sink cover idea. Thank You!
hey, you weren't kidding when you said you'd get right into it! I watched 90 seconds and I learned so much already! my husband got me an awesome wood burning kit for my birthday today and I was so curious and eager to use it but I had no idea where to begin. Thank you!
I've always loved arts and crafts, but now I can hardly finish something. Since Father's Day is soon, I was brainstorming ideas & thought of creating a big sign for his beloved hen/rooster sanctuary/barn. I asked him, "if he had a sign to put up, what would it say?" My sweet husband says, "A scripture babe....'As for me & my house, we will serve the Lord'" Point to my story...his response made up my mind....I'll be going to get all the things, to start & FINISH this project! I'm excited about it & can't wait for the challenges I'll face. Most of all, thx for your video, very informative & straightforward!!!🙂
You are an amazing person for sharing your knowledge! What a thorough friendly and inspiring video, especially when you encourage people to be curious and try different methods. Lets not forget our safety! I bought my decorative wood burning kit one year ago and I am barely getting started. Thank you! 🙏🏼
I just picked this up and am figuring it out as I go. I'm going to try to work with acrylic paint pens, as well. I thought I recognized that southern draw! Y'all say hey to all my family in Wetumpka!!!!
So glad I found your channel. I’ve been wanting to try a new medium out and I’m thinking this is it because I love painting with acrylics so wood burning an outline to color it in sounds super fun to me.
I’ve been wood burning for years. I do portraits primarily. I was blown away by to see Prattville Alabama behind you. I didn’t think anyone else in my town did pyrography.
I've been watching your channel time to time,,but haven't really started wood burning. I think today is the day! gotta start practice at least 5mins!!! Thank you!
I'm so glad I watched your video before jumping in headfirst. I never knew some wood fumes are toxic. Also those finger hear gloves are awesome! Thank you!!!!
A friend gave me a wood burner kit semi professional with a variety of tips. After seeing yours glow red hot, I realized, dang. My burner isn't working right. But, I know now , safety first. Template, carbon paper. Prep, and finish stuff. I look forward to getting more tips from you. Thank you for the video
I am Mesmerized, smittened... ( haha ) with learning Pyrocrafting. It's relaxing and FUN! I can't thank you enough for sharing tips and tricks that are so informative and a joy to watch and understand! I was almost going to purchase a Laser Burner... BUT ... this is so much more fun and enjoyable!
❤❤❤Thank you so much!! I'm here on RUclips looking for someone to explain wood burning and this was exceptional learning in 5 minutes..I'm a follower now. 🎉
Wow. Thank you. Compared to 30 min videos, this is the best. I'm new to the art, but this video has given me the inspiration and get up and go to feel more confident. You really have explained awesomely. Many Many thanks 😊 👏
Omg thank you for this. My childhood cat passed recently, I'm an artist so i wanted to do something special for her urn, but i had no clue where to start with woodburning.
Thank you for this concise tutorial. I impulse bought my wood burning kit two years ago and I had no idea what to do with it until now. I can wait to get my safety gear now to try it out.
I had a wood burning set when I was in my teens and it was hard to do it right. It's a hobby that didn't didn't catch on like other hobbies or at least I never knew anyone else who did it. Hobbbies like scale plastic model building and others don't interest youngsters today. You do nice stuff !
Beautiful👏🏻 thank you! where can we buy the pyrograph you use or which one do you suggest?where can we buy the pyrograph you use or which one do you suggest?
My first try resulted in a painful burn and the need to try again 😅 It’s certainly not easy and takes a lot of patience but i am determined to keep at it ! Thank you for the video 😊
That was perfect! Thank you!! Not only do I have solid practical instructions on how to use my new tool safely, but I'm also feeling incredibly inspired. You make an excellent teacher, subbing.
After you’ve sprayed or put any other product over, can you wood burn over again? For example, I wanna do I growth chart for my boy, and will be adding his hight in for the coming year.
Question; what are your thoughts on laser-jet printer heat transfers over over the carbon paper? I stopped using the carbon paper because I kept getting errant smudges on the wood. Thank you for this video, it was quite informative!!
Gracias, you just invite me to work on wood on a new way, I´m very creative with woodworking and you just set me on a new route to give my work a very nice presentation
im thinking of making flags by burning the lines, painting with acrylics the going over the lines again, for gifts but also to sell as a side thing, reckon it might work?
I have a soldering iron that apparently cannot burn a small sheet of pinewood. I tried 400 degrees, and moved slowly. The best it could do is produce grooves and a very slightly darker coloring.
Thank you so much for this video. After watching this, I'm not so scared to try woodburning 😅😂🤣🤫🤭🤪 I LOVE HOW YOUR SINK COVER TURNED OUT! It's perfect! 😍🥰 Tfs
Id have liked it if you could include pressure recommendation, maybe if the work environment is a necessity or how high/low the temp should be since yiu said keep the temp low but the metal was red hot and burned into the wood easily
As a hobbiest calligrapher using a wooden pen sounds ideal in a ridiculously disposable world. Bamboo immediately comes to mind but a small lathe presumably turns most woods. Brilliant idea!
Thank you for the great video. I love the font that you used for the words "dishwasher" and "receive", may I ask where you found it and what is its name?
Thank you for helping me I started wood burning going on two yrs and I love it and I also have a small wood workshop and I stared this. Do you have a fb that I could follow you on? Again thank you
When I’m burning on paper, I like to get a thicker type, like watercolor paper or Bristol board, but you can experiment and see if there’s one that you prefer over others.
Ahhh carbon paper! I have been tracing the letters on my laptop screen. Then cutting around the letters with a craft knife. Then tracing onto the wood. This looks much easier. Lol. Thanks for the video! 😎
Thank you so much for this. I’ve just brought a wood burning kit and had no clue where to start. The carbon paper will be a life saver!
Great! I’m so glad it was helpful!
Me too. Know to your next video ☺
What’s the carbon for
Transferring the templates
How do I not have the carbon paper smudge everywhere when tracing?

Thanks Suzanne! I'm glad it was helpful. :)
Great job!! Very informative, yet concise. I feel more confident about using my woodburning kits now!! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
After you’ve sprayed or put any other product over, can you wood burn over again? For example, I wanna do I growth chart for my boy, and will be adding his hight in for the coming year.
I don't recommend burning over any varnish, paint or chemical product. Only raw wood. Could you use a sharpie to mark heights?
Question; what are your thoughts on laser-jet printer heat transfers over over the carbon paper? I stopped using the carbon paper because I kept getting errant smudges on the wood. Thank you for this video, it was quite informative!!
Gracias, you just invite me to work on wood on a new way, I´m very creative with woodworking and you just set me on a new route to give my work a very nice presentation

im thinking of making flags by burning the lines, painting with acrylics the going over the lines again, for gifts but also to sell as a side thing, reckon it might work?
Have u tried to do the modge podge picture transfer then burn the picture out.
I have a soldering iron that apparently cannot burn a small sheet of pinewood. I tried 400 degrees, and moved slowly. The best it could do is produce grooves and a very slightly darker coloring.

Great! I'm so happy to help!
You make this look oh so easy, hello from Queensland Australia and thanks for sharing this with us. 😊
Hey Queensland! Thank you so much!
So you should stain the wood after you burn ?
Id have liked it if you could include pressure recommendation, maybe if the work environment is a necessity or how high/low the temp should be since yiu said keep the temp low but the metal was red hot and burned into the wood easily
Good info not too overwhelming😇
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! I make wood pens, and thinking about doing this for some custom pieces.
As a hobbiest calligrapher using a wooden pen sounds ideal in a ridiculously disposable world. Bamboo immediately comes to mind but a small lathe presumably turns most woods.
Brilliant idea!
Excellent little video
Thank you very much!
Thank you for the great video. I love the font that you used for the words "dishwasher" and "receive", may I ask where you found it and what is its name?

I meant to ask you do I need to get a certain type of paper for Woodburning
When I’m burning on paper, I like to get a thicker type, like watercolor paper or Bristol board, but you can experiment and see if there’s one that you prefer over others.
@@Pyrocrafters ok thanks so much for getting back with me Have a blessed day
You bet! Have a blessed day too. 😊
Hola q puedo usar para sellar o barnizar la madera pero q no le cambie el color, q la proteja pero q no oscurezca, me gusta el todo natural, gracias!
I lost my dog yesterday and planning to engrave something for him, this is perfect
Ahhh carbon paper! I have been tracing the letters on my laptop screen. Then cutting around the letters with a craft knife. Then tracing onto the wood. This looks much easier. Lol. Thanks for the video! 😎
You bet! I'm so glad it was helpful.
So much easier doing crazy looking band logos. A game changer. 😎
Ooo another rabbit hole for me to fall down Thankyou!! New Subbie 🎉
Great cideo,thank you 😊
So, if you can draw, you can wood burn. I love that.
You have a very cool burner for drawing :)
I use ordinary soldering irons, but this one is cooler :)
Thank you very much!
Very good video ♡ thank you 🤗🙏
You are so welcome!
I found an Amazon listing that described the wood sheets as both Balsa and basswood plywood; is this ok for burning? Thanks!
