i had an interesting experience with this map
- i spent 6 hours on !!: i mindblocked the intended method for the nrcb dultra at the start so hard that i would only get a run past it every ~20 minutes, but i could never react fast enough to execute the next inputs because dying itself was being ingrained into my muscle memory. the strat you see me using is one i only found ~30 mins before clearing, and i don't really want to think about how long the room would have taken me if i hadn't found that. while i was still using the intended start, i had already beaten the room about 5 times from a state placed at the correct DashCD for the reverse hyper (aka skipping the frame perfect jump at the start)
- for moonberry, i was doing the intended start (neutral into climbjump to multiboost off the swap block) until about 20 mins before the clear, when i finally decided to look at a video and saw the cheese strat. very similar story to !!; i beat the room so many times from a state a few frames past the start, but mindblocked the start so bad that i didn't know if i would ever clear. in the end, !! + mb made up over half of my 20h playtime on this map
- this is my worst clear Ever

first clear was using a revdemohyper dultra like how smoothee did it originally. 14 minutes later, i did it the intended way, which is what the video shows.

I feel entertained even though I have no knowledge of the difficulty or skill level required for this level
its more so knowing exploits like corner boosts, ceiling pops, and just the way speed works in game, all comes from playtime (and some practice)
the difficulty curve and learning of the skills, and overall skill ceiling(s) is really well done both in the vanilla game and in modded
this is the 8th hardest modded map in the world i think

Funny name for a map, though not out of place among other Celeste mapnames.
Also jesus those chained corner boosts looked incredibly cursed. No clue if they are actually hard (compared with the rest of the level), this is way above what I can play which makes judging difficulty hard, but it definitely looked craziest.

This is a really random comment, but how did you set up your timer? I always see people using a timer similar to yours when playing Celest but I never figured out how they set it up 😭
it's a setting called "Speedrun Clock" at the bottom of the in-game options

How do you have that corner thing that tells you which keys you use?
it's an input overlay. the one i'm using is an OBS plugin just called input-overlay, but it's a bit of work to set up. if you don't care about being able to make your own texture files for the keys/text, then i'd recommend checking out NohBoard instead (which is what most players use). KeysPerSecond is also cool

what is the like corner dash combo thing? Like you're launching yourself using the corners.
that's a reverse hyper followed by an immediate up-diagonal dash. the corner being there doesn't do anything but normalize the starting position of the jump out of the hyper (if you don't know what a hyper is yet, just wait till you get to 8c, or ask in the discord)

Okay question what is the demo button? I don't remember seeing it in Celeste is it just a random button that does nothing?
it's officially called a "Crouch Dash" button, located in the Advanced sub-section of controls. when you press it, you dash with a crouched hurtbox (shortens it from 9px tall to 4px tall), but it doesn't work in the down or down-diagonal directions.
it's required for some tricks in the map, but a lot of the times you see me hit it, it's not actually doing anything and is just for making the input sequences more comfortable

Celeste mods are crazy I still haven't finished the C sides, but when I get them going again I hope I can find some great novice / starter mods (heard Strawberry Jam seems like a good pick?)
