In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
I like that he isn't just saying "pay attention", but he explains how to pay attention and why to pay attention and why it is important.
Very good ted talk to me :)
How? How to pay attention
"Attention is more important than thought because the process of thought is emotional, hence delusional and a facade of an imaginary world. Attention unravels aspects of reality; it focuses our awareness, the you about you, to novice regions of the mind; distinguishing you and your mind. It calms the turboil in the mind and is a healthy experience. It declutters our minds and changes our beliefs. Our beliefs turn to wet clay, easily moldable. With the requisite amount of deliberate practise, our beliefs change its state to water. Then, we finally are the best we will ever be."©
Well said...thanks 👍 for the insight!
Yeah, and it's the "turboil" that keeps ruining my soup.
Huh? That’s a lot of words. Attention is about presence. Being, giving and receiving. Directing your focus on something or someone.
Attention is also a thought
What he is talking about is a bigger and more powerful tool then most people can realise. R.I.P Jeff.
Yes !! but only in the caste system that includes the level called 'assholes'.
Happy Birthday Jeff. We miss you every day. Every time I watch this talk, I absorb a new perspective
This is amazing! What a powerful speaker with warm hearted, in depth ideas on such a broad spectrum.
You re right
Sharing the Legacy of Jeff Klein, dreamer, entrepeneur and go getter. So grateful he passed Gaia Farm off to me....he passed on in his sleep yesterday to much surprise of his many loved ones. That makes this Monunmental achievement and Ted Talk that much more significant. Posted only 11 days before passing. With great respect and appreciation for having known this man. May he rest peacefully and guide us on.....

Sorry to hear that. I hope his daughter is doing all right.
A shame so young
Working for God! Job well done.
that's really sad - great guy, great mind, great advice
Wow Thank you so much for the teaching of connecting with people through paying attention.
Jeff, you will be missed. I'm so glad you left this fine example of your wisdom and warmth for us to ponder over the years...
Steve Leveen awww why did he die?
Bree Biazon heart attack in his sleep. Age 57. Very sad
Such great he shared, If we will overcome this issue ' lack of pay attention' everything will take a right direction and every thing will start growing..... amazing...
Llega la pasión , como lo comunica :
Palabras , gestos corporal .
Just great.
Some good wisdom here. I know the dogs on my grooming table (surprise! it's haircut day for Pup!) only relax and quit defending themselves when they see you are paying attention to what they're saying (or trying their best to say, you know?) You give them info to work with and positive feedback, plus a cpl clear boundaries. Then trust builds and they relax enough to play and to think brushing isn't half bad!
We lost a great person. Clear, compassionate, authentic.
How did he die?
Cancer carcinoma
Profoundly on point while touching every aspect of being human. Incredible.
Connection IS love and brings hapiness to us. This is the "secret".
Such a beautiful message. I loved how he walks the walk of this entire talk. From beginning to end how he said the message and his body language, eye contact, and hand gestures boosted connection. I am grateful for this person and his message.
get to another church ok
Brilliant talk, so insightful, good stuff,.. i was paying attention!
Excellent speaker...
I am very excited the message
Good presentation. In simple word, it is conscience. Those who follow JK and Osho literature ca enjoy more!
Paying attention is the key to connection 👏👏👏
I’m only 6 mins in but I’m blown away by the part of asking everyone in a meeting what has their attention prior to starting the meeting. The effect this could have on productivity and creativity seems astronomical.
This message was great. Very insightful.
We need more of this guy on the planet rip sir

Where the focus goes energy flows...
Oh my God! Wonderful and insightful speech! I am so sorry this special man is no longer among us. However, I understand he was a single parent to his daughter... Well, I hope that the daughter will carry on her father's legacy and also enrich it with her own excellence. When you have such a teacher by your side, you are meant to be successful.

Super Great Job and Congrats on the Tedx Talk! Great lead in with your daughter Merrill Faye (sp?)
We met at Conscious Capitalism 2014 in San Diego...I am a member of the AZ group! I love CC and am dedicated to promoting the movement through our HR Conference in Aug 2014...have infused speakers and theme to follow CC philosophy! I support other large regional conferences across the US...would still love to collaborate with you on speakers and on how I can support movement!
Agree Jeff

yes pay attention is the power in all what do
people start to heal the moment they feel heard
We live in a fluid universe where conscious and unconscious alterations in viewpoint determine the form and scenery of our objective reality.
Power of attention to foster connection ✨
The power to pay attention is everybody's superpower...if they access it.

*"You have to connect with me first."*
*So I slapped her. Never had an issue since.*
An instant experiment that proved I'm really bad at paying attention: I searched the topic"how to pay attention" and this vid Popped up. I thought why Steve jobs is giving a lecture on this topic?
I pay attention to this video and feel asleen
If only all companies were run as well as those he mentioned, We would have a holistic society that could survive without having Unions . the sad truth is, that's not the world we live in. The world we live in is dominated by greed for-profits.
The businesses he mentions are ***in this world*** 😊
These companies provide us all with a model to follow.
Great analogy with a cigarettes

Ignore this comment as this is a personal msg for someone
Yeah when i was still a little younger, attention matters to me. I kinda liked it but only a little bit. I enjoyed the attention from guys because thats what teenage girls secretly like but i dont like being the center of attention.
Im someone who loves selfies and things like that as well. I see girls taking selfies as their form of self expression and art.
But as i matured, those kind of things gradually diminish in me. There's still a little but not that much anymore. My priorities changed.
If i want to achieve something, its not really for the attention. But i can never deny that i like fancy material things because all of us do. Its just that rich ppl have already stopped appreciating fancy things cuz they can easily get them. But its not the fancy things that im really after. Idc about the money lol
But my dreams sound unrealistic lol, and i dont want to appear like i want to sound charitable or things like that
I understand and appreciate that you want to be needed by me. Honestly thats sweet. Its just that as much as possible, i want to prevent anything that will happen that might harm others. I know you didnt mean that. I understand that u want to make sure that i will be in your house, its just that, for me, that would be somewhat scary because idk u that much, idk how u will treat me.. Its not that i dont like u, its just that its just really scary to suddenly live with someone that u dont know that much about
And i want to ask u questions abt u too as well that r more personal, its just that i know that i wont get that much answers
lila 123456789 i’m curious about this
🎉
Missing you always.
It can make me a billionaire in a year or less... I know how powerful RAS is

Pay attention

Tell me how much a company pays its workers and I will tell you if they are loved or not...
This is absolutely true👋💯.
what percentage of its income does it pay it workers is the true test
Please pay attention to the immerse suffering of livestock animals and the destructive effects of the livestock industry on our environment and health.
looks like Henry Rollins
did he drink his last last drink in the desert? or in Santa Barbara?
“Meryl-Faye”…?? = Emotional Damage!! Lol
If you don't believe in God consider this... from a single point of light (One) came the big bang that created all of existence.... therefore we are all reflections of the One ... 💝💝💝🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Klein, J.
The Meryl Faye story: The child is demanding the parent follow her wishes. The parent should be in charge of the situation not the child.
In the same situation, I would have just scooped the child up, put her in the car and used the time we have on the journey to discuss with her cause and affect. To discuss that when we are pushed for time, we cannot waste time and now we have time we can discuss things that happened. I would discuss the reasoning for my actions to bring about her understanding of situations and time constraints. Understanding is the key to Life. "Once you understand something do you rarely get annoyed at it" - Dalai Lama
Ads are not bad. I believe if privacy concerns are addressed, ads are the best way to provide and consume services.
Think about it. Do you hate ads or do you hate the ads that don't care about your privacy? Most of us convert our privacy concerns into a hatred for ads. But really, if it was *you* who chose the ads, will you be concerned of privacy? If you had total control of the ads you will see, will you oppose ads? If you ask me, that's great. You support creators as well as can enjoy their services for free. And if that's the case, what better economy can we have? You also don't need an algorithm that will 'track' user activities and figure out their interests. Recommendation systems can still be used, but not for advertising as the topics are solely based on user choice.
Recently, Google has come up with features that allow you to select the topics you are okay with seeing the ads about, just like you select your topics of interest in reddit. I don't trust personalization because to me it's like their detective algorithm is following me and noting down every single reaction I have and predicting my next move. I disapprove that. But instead, if I tell them what ads I am okay watching and they only show me those category ads, it is great for me. I recommend everyone to check out your Google settings and choose what ads you would approve. Sensitive ads are disabled by default. It's only getting better and I believe Google has taken great steps to address privacy concerns.
Why can't we have an attention economy where the engagement is not forced or addictive, but based on *positive* influence of content?

I know nothing of this guy but I can tell you he was probably killed.
