I am now teaching crochet to senior residents at an assisted living facility. They are starting the Granny Square next week and I had to find Spider's technique of his CAYGO. I believe it is the best and easiest way to join squares. I found Spider's tutorials 3 years ago when I was making a wedding Blanket for my grandson/granddaughter to be.. I still get compliments on the quality of that Blanket. Thamk you Spider!!!

I learned this method as a young girl (50 years ago) from an elderly lady. I actually made a baby afghan for one of my grandsons using this method to join, and it was beautiful! However, when you don't use a method very often, it is difficult to remember. It took me forever to find the method when I made the baby afghan. So I was thrilled to find it again! Thank you so much! You are a great instructor!

Dear Fiber Spider - another brilliant tutorial. Craig you have such an easy going approach to teaching it makes it a joy to watch and the work just flows painlessly. You asked which connecting method we prefer: I like the nether-space idea you demonstrated, the second one. Practically invisible to the eye with additional rounds camouflaging the joins, adding polish, elevating the project.
Thank you for all the hard work you put in. It is easy to forget you are embracing the tripod working around the legs to give us the best view of the project, plus the editing and all the technical work behind the scene. You are easily my favourite crochet tutor and I delight in coming back to see what I can learn. Thank you Craig.

I have tried and tried, and failed and failed to do join as you go and continuous join as you go, and it seemed so fiddly. I stopped doing granny squares because sewing them together just never looked neat to me. I'm not great with sewing in all the loose tails!
This video. One run through, and I get it. You're very good at leaving out the "extras," and delivering a very precise, easy to follow tutorials. I appreciate this. I'm on row 3 of my granny afghan for my husband's Christmas present and I'm THRILLED with how well this works up! And how absolutely beautiful it is. It's remarkably stable considering it's held together with slip stitches. Beautiful work. Love it. Thank you!
