Wonderful car. I have the exact colour and love it. 0-60 is one thing but acceleration from mid to high speeds is exhilarating and it puts it down to full time AWD. It’s also very quiet. It rides much better than a Camry and I would compare it to the Lexus GS.

When I first saw the vehicle I thought it was a nice looking car. I’ve been surprised about the industry moving into the SUV’s so quickly. I would definitely look at this car when shopping for a new vehicle. Thanks for your videos, I prefer common sense reviews without the gimmicks. You always provide interesting and informative content.
I am just glad Toyota still makes a sedan. I keep hearing how much more room crossovers have and it is nonsense. The majority of these little cross overs are no roomier than a nice sedan. The only way you get a more substantial amount of room is when you get the large cross overs like a CX9 or a SUV like a Telluride and even then if you use the 3rd row in the CX9 it turns your cargo area into nothing. I have a nice full size Cadenza that is spacious and comfortable with a really nice size trunk that can hold all the luggage for a family. As for the seating position that so many people love about cross overs, most sedans come with fully adjustable driver seats that allow you to sit as upright as you want. I personally hate the seats in cross overs and SUV's. Yes its a rant, every time I read a new automotive article some car company is cancelling a sedan and its frustrating . It is to the point i am not sure the reviewers even understand the massive shift from sedans, and yet they constantly remind us every review that we apparently hate them and love SUV's, to the point they question why carmakers even make new sedans. Stop asking why, its because a lot of people still love a good comfortable sedan. Doug Demuro is the absolute worst when it comes to his degradation of sedans, UNLESS its a Mercedes or BMW he seems to be ok with those even though most people cannot afford to step in to a Mercedes dealership. I am a big guy I do not need to sit high, I can see just fine in my compact sedan that I daily drive, yes, I know some people need SUV's, but like pickup trucks most people who drive them truly do not need them.

Saw a solid black one in-person and it was looked really damn sleek. Toyota making all the promotional materials show the dual tone and having the test cars all be the dual tone color options was a pretty bad idea in my opinion. Gives a bad first impression of the car.

That's a good idea. I'm guessing that headlight quality isn't all equal. I know my 2019 nissan altima has some brilliant headlights. Are all led lights similar? Speaking of nissan, this toyota Crown reminds me of the Maxima. Getting the exterior lighting can be a challenge at night due to our camera's low-light performance, or lack thereof lol. We will continue to work on improvements based on the feedback you guys give us! Thank you so much!
Toyota really blew it with the Crown. The exterior is too polarizing in a bad way and the cheap looking interior is not befitting of a car that costs almost $60k.
One thing About You and your Channel is that we can Always count on the non Biased reviews ! To Many TOYOTA fanboys across the whole Media Platforms that Absolutely Love Everything they make . They can make Crappy decisions and vehicles just like all the Rsst !
you seem to be too harsh with Toyota, its color, its materials. Its sportsmanship. but what else do they have about the other brands that you keep mentioning? I like the wise nature of this car, its softness and the two-tone color and I don't need a sports car like you are asking for. Not everyone has the same requirements as you. !!
I like the idea/direction Toyota is going with this vehicle. I would go with full black and paint those silver areas on the wheel spokes black. "Murdered Out" (-;
This car is sad. It reminds me of the era when the Impala was called Meatloaf and Baby Huey. It has a great powertrain inside a homely exterior and interior. Has Toyota laid off all of its design teams? You can make a better case for Subaru.
In my Crown Platinum with 3000 miles in 9 weeks, I’m getting 29.5 MPG in every day driving and I get 34 MPG in highway driving. I am driving in the normal or comfort mode and I think the lower my mpg may be a result of the sport mode.
I agree with biotin colors. Looks too busy. I bought a single color metalic grey which compliments black matt trims and gloss back rear. I dont due a lot of traveling. More in the Lexus qualities of luxury and sport like the Lexus 500h and found it in the Crown.
Am I alone in my dislike (edited) of the JBL blister style tweeters on the A pillar? Find them distracting at best! Just too much vendor placement! Thx Alex
a $50k+ flagship sedan without a heads-up display that cars from the same brand $10,000 cheaper have. otherwise its very close to what im looking for. i like the mildly increased seat height that makes it easier to get into, and higher seat height in traffic but is still easy to park and handle like a sedan. sporty, sleek styling. great MPG vs decent mpg and more performance depending on what you want. better interior and ride comfort compared to a Camry. but i really, really, want a HUD which this doesn't have for some stupid reason when the Avalon did.
@@sentryion3106 im sure for many people its not a big deal, but personally i just really want one. i also think its weird because many of its competitors do have a HUD and at $50k it should at least be an option, a $30K car i totally understand not having one. the accord has one (with integrated android auto navigation in the HUD too), camry, sonata, venza if u want a true SUV, and lexus es/rx all have a HUD. its like the only one at this price point, besides true compact SUV's like the tucson and sportage, that doesnt have a HUD.
The comfort isn’t really better than a Camry. Nor is the performance despite having more power and torque. In fact the crown hybrid max has the same 0-60 as a v6 Camry. Even though sofyan got a faster time it’s not really a huge difference in the real world. You could get 5.6 seconds on the Camry on a good launch A Camry offers a heads up display. And oddly more interior space than the crown
It’s weird looking that you have to warm up to but it’s a really really good car that rides good, corners good and the interior is nice enough to make a lot of the Lexus cars (suv included) obsolete.
I personally like the look. So, that's what matters. Not concerned about the prop rod because it's not a daily event to access the bat. Key fob look basic. Interior could use more contrasting elements
This reminds me a lot of the old Honda Crosstour. It's not sure if it's a car or a crossover, it's goofy looking, somewhat practical and will sell in low numbers to Toyota diehards who are looking for the next generation Avalon (which is what they should have called this thing to begin with).
I like that bronze color remind me of copper, but I guess you have to take chances and step out and try new colors instead of the old black white blue red silver.

Mean while the Kia stinger died and the arteon is effectly dead. Sport backs are a type of vehicle enthusiast claim they want but the regular folks don't care about. If they need more space they'll get and suv and we know this by looking at the sales charts.
I have been seriously considering the Arteon. I think Toyota missed the mark with this one. I am sure it is still built like the Toyota's but I liked the Avalon better.
This thing has been such a disappointment since they first showed it. I thought it was ugly, but I will say it looked better in this review than what I had seen in pictures. That is one bland interior for $55k. It needs to either be faster or more fuel efficient with the hybrid max to justify the cost. 5.2 to 60 while getting something like 37/39? Ok. 4.5 to 60 while getting 30ish? Sure. Instead it's kind of mediocre in all areas. How can the new Prius be so good and this be so meh? I wonder how well it responds to hypermiling.
It’s Toyota. What do you expect? They always phone it in Nobody wants to admit it so I will. Majority of new Toyota and Lexus models are just phoned in
I originally had great expectations for the crown, but it turned out to be ugly in appearance! The 2012 Toyota Crown is the pinnacle of aesthetics, stable and generous, with the aura of a top car! Then it went downhill all the way, what a pity the golden signboard of the crown!
This would be the best Police car interceptor, and can replace Ford V6 interceptor. Particularly this is great option for idling since hybrid engine is off during idling which saves a lot of gas!!
The Toyota Crowns that were introduced in Japan, I'm 100% confident when I say this would surely outsell this version. Crown Sport/Sedan model hopefully come to the US.

Toyota really blew it with the Crown. The exterior is too polarizing in a bad way and the cheap looking interior is not befitting of a car that costs almost $60k.
It’s Toyota. What did you expect?😂
They always phone it in with every single model
One thing About You and your Channel is that we can Always count on the non Biased reviews ! To Many TOYOTA fanboys across the whole Media Platforms that Absolutely Love Everything they make . They can make Crappy decisions and vehicles just like all the Rsst !
The 2 tone looks great in person imo
It looks great, and I am a Honda man through and through
I feel like the new Crown looks weird
You're right
That’s because it DOES look weird.
one in japan look nice
Agreed
It looks decent in person
you seem to be too harsh with Toyota, its color, its materials. Its sportsmanship. but what else do they have about the other brands that you keep mentioning?
I like the wise nature of this car, its softness and the two-tone color and I don't need a sports car like you are asking for. Not everyone has the same requirements as you. !!
I like the idea/direction Toyota is going with this vehicle. I would go with full black and paint those silver areas on the wheel spokes black. "Murdered Out" (-;
Amazing color
This car is sad. It reminds me of the era when the Impala was called Meatloaf and Baby Huey. It has a great powertrain inside a homely exterior and interior. Has Toyota laid off all of its design teams? You can make a better case for Subaru.
I test drove this vehicle and loved it! Unsure why it gets so much slack for the two-tone. It's stylish, curvy, and beautiful.
I agree and I have never liked toyota cars, this one is boss.
This car kicks ass.
6:50 I like the 2tone . This car looks great. 9:00 too bad , I don't like a black interior . bummer .
I own a Volkswagen Arteon....how do engage launch control???
Color looks amazing
I predict a lot of these being on the automotive equivalent of a clearance rack. The new Camry and Crown Sport will be popular though.
The toyota duracel
Can’t unsee it now
lol
In my Crown Platinum with 3000 miles in 9 weeks, I’m getting 29.5 MPG in every day driving and I get 34 MPG in highway driving. I am driving in the normal or comfort mode and I think the lower my mpg may be a result of the sport mode.
Should have gotten a 40 mpg Limited
I have this exact one!!! I LOVE IT!!! Kids say it looks like a cockroach 😂
Thx Alex
The lack of hood struts would be an issue on any other brand, but that hood won’t be open much in its life… it’s a Toyota 😂
a $50k+ flagship sedan without a heads-up display that cars from the same brand $10,000 cheaper have. otherwise its very close to what im looking for. i like the mildly increased seat height that makes it easier to get into, and higher seat height in traffic but is still easy to park and handle like a sedan. sporty, sleek styling. great MPG vs decent mpg and more performance depending on what you want. better interior and ride comfort compared to a Camry. but i really, really, want a HUD which this doesn't have for some stupid reason when the Avalon did.
Its a weird omission, but I don't think it should be a deal breaker. Also with polarized sunglasses HUD becomes kinda useless.
You could get 5.6 seconds on the Camry on a good launch
A Camry offers a heads up display. And oddly more interior space than the crown
Aftermarket HUD
It’s weird looking that you have to warm up to but it’s a really really good car that rides good, corners good and the interior is nice enough to make a lot of the Lexus cars (suv included) obsolete.
Hi there I have this exact crown platinum and it the best car Michel from Montréal Québec have a nice one 👍
Starting at $40,000 with cloth seats, this is overpriced. The two-tone color looks ugly on this particular vehicle, a single color would look nicer.
Yall said car designs were starting to look the same....well this is ... different.
Give this thing a single tone color , put the aero kit from japan , lower it a bit ( optional ) !!
It will look sick 😛
I personally like the look. So, that's what matters.
Not concerned about the prop rod because it's not a daily event to access the bat. Key fob look basic. Interior could use more contrasting elements
This reminds me a lot of the old Honda Crosstour. It's not sure if it's a car or a crossover, it's goofy looking, somewhat practical and will sell in low numbers to Toyota diehards who are looking for the next generation Avalon (which is what they should have called this thing to begin with).
I can't wait for the SUV version of this!!
I like that bronze color remind me of copper, but I guess you have to take chances and step out and try new colors instead of the old black white blue red silver.
Just get a mid-specked ES350/300H for the price.
This car looks cool! I guess because it’s different!
Outstanding vehicle
i miss the avalon so much, hopefully it could come back as an FCEV
It looks like a Duracell battery with the bronze two-tone
@theredline when you 0-60 vehicles, does the time include a 1-foot roll out?
How do you engage launch control in the Volkswagen you mentioned?
I have a year with a platinum, and I haven't been able to fix it (forward noise, left side), and goes off completely.
Certainly looks a lot more interesting than an Avalon.
Toyota released a Crown crossover coupe style SUV internationally..its beautiful and a damn shame we dont get it in the states
For now. The thing is, how many crossovers do we need on the market?
A car suitable for people over 70 years old.
I had no interest in the Crown until they put the word Platinum afterwards. In my Platinum Crown, I’m gonna drive around my town like a King!
Nobody’s going to take you seriously as king in a clown sedan 😂
@@naveenthemachine Betcha I can fit up to 50 clowns in my Crown!
A car suitable for people over 70 years old.
@@user-qg2zl2cm6j It’ll get me from the hospice to the Cracker Barrel in style!
@@murrynathan you're right. This naveenthemachine dude is just going on every crown video on RUclips to leave negative comments. He is just living in the past and trying to convince himself he happened to buy a Toyota Camry at the best time in all of its history and his car will be a better buy than anything comparable Toyota releases for the next I don't know 20 years. Lol
I feel like Toyota needs to get rid of JBL please!!! And they totally missed the mark with not being a sport back with bigger trunk space.
Mean while the Kia stinger died and the arteon is effectly dead. Sport backs are a type of vehicle enthusiast claim they want but the regular folks don't care about. If they need more space they'll get and suv and we know this by looking at the sales charts.
If the redesign 2025 Camry looks like a bigger new Prius and comes with this Hybrid Max or PHEV Prime.. I'm a buyer. Don't want or need an SUV.
Finally! I always wanted a Buick Park Avenue with modern tech and great MPG.
I have been seriously considering the Arteon. I think Toyota missed the mark with this one. I am sure it is still built like the Toyota's but I liked the Avalon better.
Get the arteon. It’s a better car than this uncompetitive Toyota
@@naveenthemachineits literally best in class like every other toyota
They always phone it in
Nobody wants to admit it so I will. Majority of new Toyota and Lexus models are just phoned in
They need to make a crown capstone with the 3.5l v6 hybrid from the Lexus TX
I love the colour!
What is the transmission type? And how it feels ?
I originally had great expectations for the crown, but it turned out to be ugly in appearance! The 2012 Toyota Crown is the pinnacle of aesthetics, stable and generous, with the aura of a top car! Then it went downhill all the way, what a pity the golden signboard of the crown!
This would be the best Police car interceptor, and can replace Ford V6 interceptor. Particularly this is great option for idling since hybrid engine is off during idling which saves a lot of gas!!
Finally, a copper-colored car besides the Nissan Ariya! :)
The Toyota Crowns that were introduced in Japan, I'm 100% confident when I say this would surely outsell this version. Crown Sport/Sedan model hopefully come to the US.
Can you compare the Toyota Crown to the Toyota Avalon that is if you can find a Toyota Avalon
The avalons far superior
The Crown is probably just a placeholder until Toyota comes up with an actual flagship sedan.....if it bothers to come up with one at all.
