Cheers Brian, shame I didn’t get the lump that came to the side of the boat and shook loose. I don’t think it would have been wise to try and lift it into the boat anyway.
If you are watching on a big screen I apologise as I’m still learning a new camera and microphones and I doubt it was as good as previous films but I am working on it. 🎣👍🏻
@@seaangling oh mate it’s dreadful. I was going out tonight for an eel session into a Turbot session but the 1sm forecast my way picks up for a few hours it will be abit horrible I think. I may just go early doors and snatch the window
Nice to see you out fishing again Mark, your videos are always both informative and entertaining. Its good to see someone catching a few. Please keep the content coming,it brightens a rainy day. 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Thank you Marc, your kind words are very much appreciated. I’ve had a few other adventures recently but I have been learning a new camera and microphones. Unfortunately the footage hasn’t been of a decent standard despite some nice catches.
Nice one Mark, good to see you back. Some lovely tope there. Thought you were very polite calling the Seagulls , seagulls and not shitehawks or pompey pigeons.
@@seaangling I was in Plymouth for the biglerf fundraiser and got mugged by a shite hawk, knicked my chips, slapped me with it's wing and didn't die when I told it to. 😂
They did put a decent bend in a 30/50lb class rod. I was really disappointed with the one lost at the side of the boat, it was significantly bigger than the others. 🎣🤷♂️
@@stevenewell6898 it is the reality of fishing and I have only the deepest respect for a fish that fights/wins it’s freedom. I have lost some amazing fish mucking about with the camera though and that always stings a bit.
Good to see you out and filming. Yeah, species comps are very full on. I've taken part in a few. I was also crew on Meerkat (Weymouth) when Dave Gibson had it in a world boat champs, European champs and a few WIBAC's so I know what comps are like.
I am rubbish at estimating and would rather go low with my guess. I have a Rapala sling that I got specifically for weighing Tope and Spurs but it is in my shore kit.
Nice relaxing video mate 👍 Beautiful tope, well done! What bigger boat are you after? I have 18ft Shetland F4 now and aiming to go for a bigger boat as well. Do you tow and launch or keep the moat in marina? I launch each time and with 18ft boat its relatively easy to launch/retrieve but wondering how difficult it would be with 21 footer am after haha!
If I choose to continue towing it will be a Raider 18 with a Suzuki 140. I am currently working my way through the tickets towards commercial charter so may go for an Offshore 25, Osprey 24 or something similar and keep it in a marina. No set decisions yet but I’d like to take others out and share the experience.
I do use them when uptiding but when I get into 90-100 metres I only fish downtide. As we get into winter fishing inshore and shallower I’ll use the uptiders.
spot on mate,i noticed you never seem to use them anymore,i only ask as i have 2 and reckon they are as good as my daiwa tdu i had a long time ago@@seaangling
@@fester. tbh I’ve spent a lot of time this past year fishing deeper around the back of the IOW but this winter I’ll break them out again for the Solent.
Neither do I and I try to get the balance right. I had one line wrapped fish that was difficult to deal with and others unhooked or lost at the side of the boat.
As always Mark another cracking video with some good fish coming to the boat, thanks for sharing

Got to write this before I forget 🤦♂️,like the idea of seeing your boat set up 🤞🎣🐟
It’s on the list of videos to do but the weather this weekend looks shocking for mid summer.

Greta vid as always mate. Love your boat, I’d give my left arm for a set up like that 😂
It took some saving but I got very lucky with the age/condition and the previous owner was a true Gent.
Well done Mark 🎉
Cheers buddy, weather has been rubbish for boat fishing lately. I’m suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

I guesstimate, based on my own previous catches, that the one you show at timestamp 21:00 is approx 12lb
I can’t believe I forgot my weighing sling that I bought for Tope/Spurs/hounds.
Cracking session. What make is your landing net please?
It is an Abu Garcia Beast landing net.
Nice trip Mark,is it your fault the weather’s turned for the worse 🤦♂️🎣🐟🦈
It is frustrating with so many targets and plans for this summer. Seem to be burning through the months far too quick.
Nice session mate... Definitely think some of those tope were bigger than you think

Yeah it's a shame.... But without lost fish or just those missed on camera, we wouldn't have our fishermen's tales of the ones that got away

I’m on new camera and mics as well and that takes time to dial in. This windy weather is holding up plans to try for a Thresher.
My target is 5 different species of rays in a day. I've had 4 on my boat twice, the first an undulate let me down. The second a blonde let me down.

Great watch ,Mark. I definitely think that you underestimate the size of your fish, even the one that you didn't film looked bigger to me !

Hi Mark what do u think of that vmo comp rod holdall now that u have had it for some time thanks
I like it. Amazing value compared to others and does the job. It is lasting well and no signs of wear and tear.
