    Follow along as I pull out the blown 9hp 150cc GY6 and make room for a new 20hp Duromax 440cc!
    Today I pull the old engine, wire harness and reverse cables, cut the frame to make room for the 440 and swap the rear axle around to get the sprocket in the right place.
    Next video Ill be working on new mounts for the brake caliper, then tearing into the Duromax to install performance upgrades before we bolt it into the Zircon.

    Great series! That mesh hood. Was it custom or purchased somewhere?

      The mesh on the front end like above where your feet go? It came with the kart, I think it comes on these particular ones from the factory. I also had a fox version of this same frame and that one had a steel hood on it.

    Is there anyway to bolt the 440cc on without cutting? Just curious 🎉

    • @PeakPerformanceEngineering
      @PeakPerformanceEngineering  8 месяцев назад

      I don’t think so, from what I remember the drive side needed to be on the driver side and to make that work the axle had to get swapped to move the brake disc to the other side to make room.

    How did you make that Brake caliper work? I know the brackets has to be moved but did the same caliper work. I just started this similar project, and it seems the brake caliper will not work on the left side.

      Yep just had to cut the mount and move it to other side and reweld it on. The caliper worked no problem :)

      I think mind will work now, but I had to remove the park brake from the caliper in order for it to fit.

      @@papawsplace that sounds right, I removed my parking brake from the inside of kart, so I likely removed it from the caliper as well.

      Thank you much for the quick reply. You may can give me some advice here. I came across a 150 XRX Trailmaster with the motor shot and other issues. I have a Briggs 900 Series 205 CC like new and my plans are to use the 30 series Torque Converter and the 72 tooth sprocket from Go Power Sports. I'm not looking for speed but want it to pull these 22" tires (they actually measure 20" tall) Do you think this will work? Are am I about to waste my time here. LOL...

    • @PeakPerformanceEngineering

      @papawsplace that would probably work. You’d just wanna make sure the 72 tooth with give you what you need. There are some calculators online to see what sprocket will be best with the tire size you have. Then you can always change springs in the 30 series if needed

    What sprocket did you use for the go kart? I see you change it out

    • @PeakPerformanceEngineering
      @PeakPerformanceEngineering  3 года назад

      Andy I went with a sprocket from Go powersports, I forget what tooth but it was made specifically for this 150 kart as a bolt on. Check one of the other vids it goes over what sprocket exactly.

      Waldo I used a 54T from GPS, PN KD150SPKTR, it was $59
