I show you how I lined up the engine plate to the driven sprocket and fabricated the mount to the rear swingarm cage. Then I show the final engine install onto the go powersports engine plate and the last of the final touches before I'm able to take it for the first ride.

this is the video I needed thank you
Glad it could help :)
About to do this myself ty great info
Awesome, have fun & good luck :)
Mantap bang
No idea what this mean :)
Looking for an engine mounting plate and sprocket for same mod using the Duromax 16hp. Where did you find them?
Hi Joe I got them from gopowersports.com :)
im in the process of doing the exact same thing but with a predator 420 any advice before i start trying to get the motor mounted currently in the process of changing every single bolt for brand new ones all im doen to is mounting the axle and after that it’s gonna be time to mount the predator whats the best route to go to save the most money without losing out on any fun
For this chassis I had to flip the axle and relocate the brake caliper bracket to the other side. Then I welded a bar across which located one side of the engine plate and the side was against the existing frame. It was all a pretty simple process. Most expensive part is the dang go Powersports 40 series torque converter. All the cheaper 30 series woukdnt work and would blow the belts off
What sprocket did you use? And where did you get it from? Need one for my swap also
Andy Nguyen it was from go Powersports. I don’t remember which it was offhand but the video before this one I think had the details. Hope it helps ya with your build
I have a taotao 125cc gokart motors no good so ive got one of them predator 670cc i have a few questions ive got the motor mount welded just have installed the motor today
But anyways how do i get the motor to go in reverse when needed 🤔 thanks
You’d have to see if any companies make a reverse kit for the 670cc. I know they make them for smaller motors, but not sure on that beast. On this kart I did, I didn’t have reverse, I’d just have to get out and push it whenever needed.
Mantap bang.. saya juga lagi bikin mini buggy..👍🙏😊
Very helpful , but no footage of you riding it !?
Thanks! I know I have to pull this project out and get some footage ripping it. Between my ATV and the kids ATVs I haven’t had a chance to pull this project back out and play with it. This plus 3 project cars and I am very busy haha.
What size is your rear sprocket and the sprocket on you torque converter did you change the rear sprocket to from the 530 that was on it
Did you figure it out? I’m doing this to my carbide ! I’m swapping the gy6 toa gx390 I’m gathering all the stuff I need ! I remember he mentioned he replaced the sprocket on the rear axle but can’t recall what size
It’s a 54 tooth sprocket
Qq: does go kart need some special permit or license to drive in some state ?
It’s not street legal. Only off-road but no special license anywhere in USA except off-road sticker every year
Informative video but was getting driven nuts with the hand waving.
Do you have a list of all the items you used ? I’m doing something similar as we speak on my carbide I have a gx390 motor I’m following your videos to help me. What kind of sprocket did you use on the axle! Thanks in advance
I think in the video description there should be a link with most of the stuff. I ended up with a 54 tooth sprocket I believe from go Powersports. Abs finally I had to use an actual 40 series torque converter from go Powersports as well.
@@PeakPerformanceEngineeringdoes that engine feel stronger then the gy6?
@@ElPatronGamefarm oh absolutely it was. The way I had it geared the top speed wasn’t too much higher than a GY6, but it would reach top speed probably twice as fast. Much better acceleration from all the extra torque. I sold it before I could swap springs in the go Powersports 40 series, but that would have made it even faster.
@@PeakPerformanceEngineering did you see a major difference between the Amazon and gps torque converter? How often were you going through belts on each torque converter?
@ElPatronGamefarm huge difference of GPS vs the two or three Amazon versions I tried the GPS unit is stupid expensive for what it is, but it works and it works great. Once I installed the GPS one there were no more issues.
How long was that chain after breaking it?
Hi Jordy, sorry I don't know offhand, I'd have to try and measure it next time I remove it for torque converter upgrade
No ride footage?!?!?!
I've been meaning to post up a follow up video. Ill have it here soon :)
Little disappointed after watching all 4 videos to not see it perform. But I will say, I totally understand that it is easy to get sidetracked. Good video tho.
Is there anyway to adjust the takeoff time, meaning I have to give it alot of gas before it moves
Yes you can buy kits to adjust the springs and roller weights of the CVT to get it to engage at different RPMs. If you have a GY6 this might be helpful: www.buggydepot.com/buggy-tech-center/150cc/Yerf-Dog-Blade-GY6-Buggies-Parts/8
What size of belt did you use?
Oooohhh testing my memory. Tough to say, it was the belt that came with the 30 series kit on Amazon. It was labeled as a 40 series, but in reality it was just a 30 series. If you look at some of the latest vids on the build I ended up having to switch to the big bucks go Powersports 40 series to not keep from shredding belts.
How did you put caliber on other side?
Like how? Do you have pictures still?
Flipped the axle and then moved the bracket to other side. The video before this one should go into detail. There’s a whole build series on this buggy in my videos you should check out :)

What’s the length of bar you welding under plate?
Ah sorry this was a few years ago now and sold this project off after I finished it last year I think it was.
Think it was ?
@@MichaelFarmer-r6n your guess is as good as mine 🤣It was 4 years ago. But Looking at the video again when I was showing it mocked up, maybe 30”?
Thanks
@@MichaelFarmer-r6n working on a similar project? It was fun when it was all done.
Definitely needs a 40 series for all that weight and power. Never keep a belt otherwise lol. But I love the build. Have a similar setup.
Your right so far its been chewing the belts, but I'm too cheap to blow $300 on the go powersports 40 series so the next project is to play around with it and see what I can get to work.
@@PeakPerformanceEngineering I went same route. Got a cheap 40 series off Amazon for 200, now I'm adding red springs and a new compression spring. Hopefully it makes this cheap one work better. It grabs on deceleration.
@@slimyelbowis it stronger then the gy6?
@@ElPatronGamefarm yes
@@slimyelbow did you end up adding reverse to yours?
Your footage makes my head hurt
Your right I def need to get a selfie stick and tripod rather than just holding the phone with my hand
What’s the top speed on this thing ?
It only hit around 30mph with the current sprocket setup, but much more low end torque and acceleration than the 150. Over the winter I want to play around with some different sprockets to see what I like best.
@@PeakPerformanceEngineering and you still have your governor? Any further adjustment on the throttle ?
@@Mini.Moto.Guy806 governor was completely removed. Throttle seems to function fine and go completely WOT. However I suspect the cheapo torque converter I have might be an issue. I might have to pony up and spend the $300 on a real 40 series as this Amazon knock off doesnt sound like its revving the motor high enough and keeps eating belts. I need to play around with it some more this winter and I'll post an update.
@@PeakPerformanceEngineering sir that is a 30 series torque converter not a 40 on your video
Yep that’s correct. It’s an el cheapo 30 series from Amazon. If you check out the latest videos I ended up having to get a 40 series from gopowersports. That seems to work well but now I’m working on electrical upgrades then I can do some more testing :)
You didn’t show it rolling or anything....
Ill get you guys some updates on the cart soon now that weather is picking up. Maybe one with a drivearound and impressions. then we need to fix.upgrade the CVT because its blowing belts. I can also do a total cost roll up so you guys can get an idea.
Mantap bang
Thanks!
