I just picked one of these up!!! Wiring is all burned up from a wire fire. Timing could not be better!!! God is so good!!!

I am just finishing up a modified crossfire 150 scalped roll cage 8 inches, extended rear swing arm 6 inches to make room for Polaris 400 scrambler 2'stroke with 36 mm carb, Polaris snowmobile pipe/ expansion chamber and transmission. Installed 12'in rims and 26 in tires. LED lights and suspension mods. Next up will be long travel front suspension with 26 inch a arms, remote reservoir shocks 55 HP and 75 MPH. Not a cobbled up junker, I build and drive drag cars. I have pictures

nah greg, you're good. i enjoy these types of videos because most of us can't afford to just replace stuff if it's not pretty. so you showing how to work on stuff is helpful.
There is so much you can do for performance on those 150cc engines such as a big bore/stroker kit, performance exhaust, performance intake, cams, charging systems, cvt reprogramming via weights and springs, Kevlar cvt belt and so much more
I trashed my gy6 motor, i flattened the swing arm, and mounted a trimmed frame honda 250sx up in the rear. I mounted front shocks off of a 250 recon, from the top of the 3wheeler frame, to the rear frame on the buggy. That thing was a beast. Got you in and out of alot of trouble.

I have a rusty Crossfire in my shop in pieces with no engine. Planning on throwing a 420 on it if I ever get the body back in shape.
Jus got me one of these but did a custom build to it and swapped the motor and put a 300 ex four wheeler motor in, and extended the back end
Hey Big Red! I’ve watched your videos before but when I saw the name Tomberlin I had to comment. See I own a 2018 Tomberlin SS Coupe 48 volt Golf Cart LSV. That is a great Golf Cart especially compared to most others out there. They all come with 4 wheel hydraulic brakes with drilled front disks, independent adjustable coil-over front double A arms, safety glass DOT Windshield and wiper, 3 point seat belts, all LED lights, including stop, tail, turn and four way flashers and third brake light with a VIN, that comes with a Certificate Of Origination to get a State Title and Register it for use on roads with 25 mph limits. Mine being an SS Coupe comes with an A/C 17 hp electric motor built onto the straight rear axle with trailing arms and adjustable coil-over shocks. Mine has 8, 6 volt deep cycle Trojan Batteries, with a built in Bluetooth equipped smart charger. Mine will get up to 27 mph on my GPS, on a fresh charge and handles like a Go-Cart with absolutely NO lean and I’m able to drift around corners and parking lots! They come with 235/30-14 low profile tires and sharp chrome alloy wheels, but in the interest of a better all around ride and off road traction, I had mine swapped for nice 255/50-12, that are actually 1” taller with twice the sidewall hight and wider tread with more and deeper tread that with the anti-spin differential Helps a lot in deep wet grass an light mud. Everywhere I go in our beautiful retirement community I get compliments and have fun passing all but the fastest tweaked/tuned carts and mine hasn’t been tuned yet! In many Golf Carts like my wives Eze-Go, that does go 25, I would not want to go much faster because of no front brakes!
A complete wiring walk through for the GY6 Would be something I also would enjoy because I have one that was left outside and the wires are falling off from rust.

You guys need an ultrasonic cleaner for times like these.
A little simple green and water does wonders on carburetors in a heated ultrasonic cleaner. I use one every day at work. Small Engine mechanic

I have owned SEVERAL of these Tomberlin's and DUNE 150's. They are one of the best made. Very good little China buggy!!!! You'll need to clean the jets in the carb out. Main will be clogged, so will the pilot jet. Get a HOT CDI, Foam Filter, Re-Jet to a 125 main, and it will run MUCH better. Mid grade gas. Buggy Depot has an exhaust that is the best $$$ deal for a performance part.

Also in the mods was a 87 tw 200 cc carb swap for stock carb ,yamaha tw 200 carb fits intake port must clear the plastic housing under it thou ,cut out a relife ,clearence uder carb ,

Hey just was wondering if you would know what I'm missing here. I have the same go kart cleaned the carb all the jets the float needle is all in good condition nothing ceased. It cranks but won't start. It will start with starter fluid gas is going down to the bowl in the carb. Also put a new spark plug and battery.

Where can I get that carb to air filter extension and the air filter you guys are using for these GY6 150cc engines? I contacted Go Power Sports and they didn't have a clue where to get that part.
pins on the starter solenoid was probably corroded. Happens all the time on offroad vehicles.
Redbeard, is there an additive you can put in the oil to strengthen the metal in the motor? We all know the metallurgy is not great in these motors and I have heard there was an additive for this.
have an old crossfire that i found looked like a pile of trash fixed it up runs pretty good after a jug piston and rings new tires and old seats but it says made in japan i wonder how old it is

Broken air boxes, chain covers, and weak heim joints are known issues on these things. They are also geared really short so don't expect much top speed out of it but they get up to it quick. I really looked at them when I got my buggy but the lack of reverse and front brakes turned me off of them.
Cant you get better quality hiem joints? And luckily they make gy6s with reverse and low gearing is good for me. Thinking about getti g one myself

I have a crossfire just like that one but mine has better seats and a racing harness.I had the same problem with my air filter box and probably just need to change to a filter like you did.Is anything I need to do other than put the filter on the carburetor and oil it.

RBG question can I run a 5speed manual behind a 780 CVT to stretch the gear between manual shifts? I'm putting a 60horse 503 Rotax on a 300lb streetbike frame setting it up for 1/4 mile I have the cvt from the snowmobile that runs out of rpm before the 1/4 mark I have a 5speed manual divorced from a honda 750 I'm wanting to do a single shift or possibly 2shifts in the 1/4 mile.

I got a tomberline crossfire 150 r . Worked the head and valves over size piston 62mm, long story short .it pulls 50ish on the flat ,lots better power set up as 175 cc,this mod is a must if ur gonna ride any kind of trails that you'll have to do a little climing on , the driver is my 9 year old daughter. She love this kart ,good little kart really .
Hey Red I have a gokart well kept low hours but the other day I took it out and noticed that when I floor it it struggles to move under its own power. Do you have idea on what steps to take. Its a gy6 engine I replaced the clutch and cleaned the carb.

Also, find a scrap aluminum pan, and boil your carb in lemon juice.
So you said starter click but doesn’t turn on? So 2 wire plug what you mean by this cause I have A 150r an it just clicks but won’t start everything new but only thing I can think of is my wires are no good any idea why won’t start an just clicks from the starter solenoid relay kind of annoying can’t figure it out yet an ran before just fine???

the go power sports one has performance jets already, so when you put a better air filter or exhaust on, its good to go, and run even harder.

Yes from amazon or someplace like that. When you order from GPS tho its a lot more expensive for a lot of parts. But hey when you order from amazon its cheap Chinese parts, similar to the parts from GPS.....I mean that's why their prices changed some and they stopped giving the RB10 discount code to my understanding. Tariffs from China went up. I enjoy this channel a lot, it still shows you stuff you can learn and RB & the gang are all very personable, I just don't support their sponsor with my purchases.
Got a tomberlin crossfire in my garage right now. It will smoke my hammerhead to 20 mph then the hammerhead blows it away after that.
Tomberlin tops out around 30 hammerhead tops out around 50.

I know this video is a little old but hopefully someone sees this comment and can help. So I have a crossfire and having problems finding a replacement shocks for the front. Any help is appreciated.

You 2 BIG guys are way beyond the weight capacity and performance curve of that 150. Try it with a 180 lb adult and it will rip!!
I got pics of my daughter 6 feet in the air on her 150 R , buult up like it is it gets on with it pretty damn good , one down fall i have to rebuild the upper every year ,she is got it smokin bad by the end of the season , how its gona from a 150 to a 175 ,jug and slug .62mm worth it thou

Just to clarify what I'm saying a little bit it used to be it seems like you were enjoying making your videos you are enjoying you know how y'all are all goofy all the time you have fun while you're filming while being informative I guess to me it seems like maybe you're not enjoying it as much as you used to and I just I'm not really sure. Well it is a job so at times its not fun. Our biggest set back right now is space. Once the new garage is done it will be more enjoyable but right now it gets frustrating doing it in a cramped space. Also working alone isn't the most fun but hopefully Lonnie's schedule opens out some soon.
I think everyone can understand that I look forward to the videos to come I hope everything plays out for the best
