It looks amazing, I can't wait to check back in in 50 years to see how it patinas. I expect an update video in a few decades on this bag, whether you keep it or give it to someone. This bag can be the test on whether a shell cordovan bag is worth it. Does it patina just as beautifully as we imagine.

Maybe this is just me not having enough experience with sewing machines, but I wouldn't have enough faith in a sewing to not screw up on a bag so expensive. Hand stitching for me all the way.

I bought a $80 lot of horse but leather (which is belly straps for some reason) because it tans alongside shell Cordovan for the first 45 ish days of tanning. It is like cement board, I kept breaking strap cutter blades trying to cut it. Not sure what to do with it now. It's still cool to see my tandy in your videos hope to run into one of these days. Helpful suggestion for your future Shell Cordovan projects.
Should you ever encounter a similar problem with a section of one of your designs while using S.C. due to part of the dimension was slightly off.
It may be financially prudent for you to instead of making a second cut with your revised dimension on the S.C., to instead, first use some of your much less expensive Veg Tan. Yes it would be understood, that this would involve an additional step, but does the “Time out weigh the Extreme Expense” of a second miscalculation of cutting up and wasting an additional piece of the S.C.?
    Departing note: Beautiful case !

I've seen Shell Cordovan and it was a turquoise light blue that you can see down into it. It would take an Ultra HD camera to show what it looks like in person. Wasn't allowed to take it out of its special paper packaging to handle it with my bare hands and at $230 for the +2 square feet in a little circle you would be the same way if you were selling it too. The 1.5 -1.9 square foot ones sell for $199.
They sold 1"x 1" swatches for $10 so I bought one just cuz. LOL

If this were 'my' project, I'm certain I would've used the Cordovan as accent only. The material doesn't react well to getting set down on sidewalks and dragged across tile and pavement. Scratch city bro. Satchels in anyone's general use receive punishment. Better to let another veg tan take such abuse, then do repairs as needed. Shell Cordovan is one VERY expensive fix. Looking at your pattern, I'm thinking Shell on everything accept the lower half would've been more cost and time effective. Then again, I always think about the future of the item and repairs. Love the content. Keep up the good work.
