Thanks for this! I'm cat sitting and the cat brought a mouse in last night, i got this and the instructions were a bit unclear but you really helped me understand them, thanks!
These traps work very nicely 🙂. I've caught 6 mice so far, in two sessions several weeks apart. I'm now hoping to catch another one. I wish I knew how they are getting in, so I could stop them. They are Field Mice. Huge eyes, and big ears. Cute 😊!
Thank goodness you made this clip! My one was difficult to open by the way..the instructions provided by the manufacturer are awful! Fingers crossed I catch the mouse! Bought from Tool Station
hi graham thank you very much for this video.i had the same arrive today and was getting ready to return it but thanks for to your video i realized i was doing it all wrong.so now thanks to you and your video im properly see up for tonight.i do have a big problem with them in my flat but would rather use humane traps than kill.lets i hope i cath them .thanks again
Update: Mousie came out and had a look at it. Sat on top of it for a little while, but didn't go in, then went away. After rummaging around elsewhere for a bit, it all went quiet, so I thought I might as well go to bed. I watched one last video about a very similar trap, then I heard the door go. The mouse had decided it fancied the peanuts after all. It was chomping away quite happily on them. I only had some raw ones to offer it. I think the roasted ones are better. They have a stronger smell. Anyway, I had to shelve my idea of going to bed, and take my little visitor out to a different location. I put the whole trap into a plastic Bacon Box for extra security. It's only in there for a very short time. I then wrap the whole thing in a tea towel to keep it dark and calm until I let it out. That was number 7 with this trap 🙂. I noticed previous occupants have chewed a bit of the treadle and door catch, so I have now wrapped those parts with some aluminium foil to deter them from chewing it again. If they chew through the treadle, the trap won't work unless the treadle is repaired; or the green part is removed from the door, thus creating a multi-catch trap: but the trap is barely big enough for one mouse, without extending it somehow. I am very pleased with this trap 😊.
I got one of these and I mucked about with it. In doing so, I'd turned the trigger inside the wrong way. Look closely and you'll see how the reviewer has his set up: when the mouse goes over the low bar at the end to get to the lovely fragrant delicious morsels of mice friendly comestibles, this will flip the overhanging trap door! Oh, and the instructions say to release Jerry 500 metres away from your home :-)
@@Rynodinio I’ve 2 of these traps, plus others. Just recently I caught a mouse unharmed yet it quickly died in the trap and was soaked in sweat and the trap was full of condensation. The mouse was caught and found within a 7 hour period. There isn’t a lot of fresh air circulation in a house and mice become stressed when caught so need good airflow. It’s sad to catch the mouse, and it then die in the humane trap. This trap is quite confined so I’ve drill more vent air holes in it.
You can set it up with a bit of wire that holds the bait (if you use salami) and the other end to the release mechanism. Or use something that you can smear out, which means they will have to use more time to lick it up. Or like this man did with the seeds - they have to stay for a while to take all the seeds.
I set this up last night, the mouse has been in, eaten the bait, pooed and not triggered the door closure. I can't see that I have done anything wrong?
That's what I thought too. I heard to check every 2 hrs otherwise it is really destressing for the mouse to be trapped and will probably due after an agonizing time. No so humane anymore.

Thanks for that, we never got any instructions with ours!

Thanks for the video, I bought mine in a local tool station. Hopefully it’ll catch my mouse soon.

Spot on video as I couldn't work it out ! Thanks mate nice one
You do need to release them about a mile away from where you caught them. The little buggers find their way back otherwise.

I use a bit of salami and it has caught 11 mice so far... remember to let them out at least 500 meters away from the house or they will come back. 😊
Some say chocolate also works as bait...
This is a good trap but not enough air ventilation holes, so will need several more drilling in it.
More than enough, the door and lid aren't anywhere near air tight either

excellent result...cheers
Peanut butter is also good for trapping them X
It doesn't work :(
It didn't work for me.
P nut butter as bait .never fails for rats or mice
Pretty handy
I caught two with this, but from night 3, they outwitted the trap, took the food, the door was down but no mouse!

Love it just bought the same 🙏❤️

My 2 courtyard Mice have sniffed every part of these traps and refused to enter. Your Mouse appears to be dead.

Tool station sell these trip traps
its jerry they're mates
Thankyou
Man i bought this...the damn mouse ate the chocolate and the door was down but the mouse was no where to be found :(
Did it kill the mouse
No it didn't that's why its called a HUMANE mouse trap.
