Seeing how darnell was doing those battle drills with Connor makes me excited, it's like the only part of this video where Connor had to try, excited to see how darnell does this season
Thanks for the question Isaac. Some people say it should be at your chin, other's say at your nose or mouth. But honestly it’s really personal preference. There’s players with their sticks at their chest and others over their head. I believe Connor Bedard's stick is 6’1 and he’s 5’9. So my recommendation is pick something that your comfortable with and stick with it, or if you have the opportunity to try different lengths go for it and see what you like best.
@@TheDownhillSkater since hes without skates it should be at his nose and then when the skates on at your chin.... good starting point to develop a strong shot and good stride.
I lived in Edmonton for a few years as an Aussie back in the early 2000's - When Doug Weight was Captain....I met all of the team, and they were in the playoff's at that time - the entire city of almost a million people were like an electrified cult. Public transport buses had ads about them etc, everywhere you looked it was Oilers.... I have NEVER in my wildest dreams seen a city that large be so incredibly psyched to be part of the Oilers.....Edmonton is wayyyy better than ANY other hockey town in Canada.... I seriously saw Edmonton be like "religion" to support the Edmonton Oilers.......It was total craziness.....
Thanks for watching! Let me know your takeaways down below.

This is certainly rare - never been able to find practice footage of him longer than 2 minutes. Thanks for compiling
No problem! Glad you enjoyed
He just moves differently than everyone else. Too smooth.
For sure Drew! On this channel I try to figure out what that is, so we can apply it to our own games.
@@TheDownhillSkater uh, genetic superiority? hard to copy.
@@thecount1001mcdavid does not have genetic superiority😂😂

I never thought much of ice hockey until i started figure skating and fell in love with everything ice. Honesty, this is very impressive.

Glad I could help! I’ve been looking for something like this too.

BEAUTIFUL!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
Connor is the goat of hockey like literly
what a work ethic.
watch right to the end. guy is sick.
As a dman doing drills like the one at 2:07 is very hard against fast players, imagine doing it against McDavid……
Epic
7:35 How bout them old school CCM skates in the corner there!!
6:24
This guy is just on a different level
Would love to see a tutorial for the move at 9:39. Awesome video!
Best balance, ever, and that's just 1
Dude lives his hockey life in 5.0x speed
Fast is Smooth, Smooth is Fast. Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast. That is McDavid ;)
these songs were so good
Would love to see a stick handling how to. Great vid
Thanks Ollie, I got you! The move itself is actually quite easy. The speed at which Mcd does it, “almost” impossible.
@@TheDownhillSkater is there a way to practice and achieve it? He did it so hopefully I can follow. Anyway, thank you for the response.
@@Admirable_Western20 Of course there is!
Good point!
What's the song called at 6:19?
No loss by Canon
Just scary how you see exactly all the mechanics teached in downhill skating flowing together. Looks like hes flying on the ice
DAMN Nursey lol
at top speed he is unmatched, now he is learning the Sid game.
if i'm 6ft2 without a skate and i play forward my stick should reach me where
Tip of your nose

Get rid of this "music"....other than that...
Get rid of the damn rap music. I am trying to watch his skating skills not listen to a rapper.
