You can also use a spray bottle or a pump up sprayer, a 16 ounce spray bottle full of water and add 1-2 teaspoons of liquid dish soap. The pump up sprayer add 1 gallon of water and 2 tablespoons of liquid dish soap. Spray the bugs for 1-2 seconds and watch them fall off and die. Dawn dish soap is my favorite.
Except, I tried the soapy water drowning trick, that works on most insects, and these bugs are somewhat resistant to it, they apparently carry air under their shell, and can last a long time in soapy water, furthermore, the shell being half air, makes them float, so the don't drown, they climb back out.
It's hard to get the big vase under many spots in the garden. What I do is use a flat tool (such as a flat hand shovel or even a spoon) and something to poke them with. I place the flat tool a little bit away from the stinkbug and use the poke tool to make them run away towards the flat tool. He'll then be crawling on your flat tool which you can then use to carry him to the soapy water. A little tap above it and he'll fall in.
I've never heard of stink bugs until noticed all the plants started looking dry and not surviving. When examined, the potted plants found a brown bug and then more and have tried everything like washing up liquid, vinegar, garlic spray, peppermint. I really can't do anything. I've got a small patio and over the other side of the wall are three siver birch trees and have never seen leaves or buds ? This will be coming up for 3rd year and this needs sorted because an infestation has started. I'm in Scotland , city of Edinburgh and will need find out what works as they keep coming back
That's what I want to do with hundreds of stink bugs. I can't wait to see how much time it takes for me to walk all over the house and garden with a clear glass pitcher and tap or push the stink bugs into it 😂
I use a Gatorade bottle, put anything thing that smell's good to me, Tide, Dawn, Downy, add that to the water, then when I see one I put the bottle up to it, they jump in and I put the lid on. One at a time they jump in and I can NOT STAND THEM! So I saw them last year and only a few this year, but I hate them.
Good grief I got a hundred tomato plants fella there's got to be something better then picking them off one at a time I use spinosad spinosad is for chewing insects it's not for piercing sucking insects

Diatomaceous earth will work, you got to get them to walk through it...next to screen door bottoms, any door to outside, spread some. totally harmless to humans, unless you breathe the dust.
Really???? In one week I filled a 2litter bottle full at one of my back doors….. this is just me just getting the ones that was around my French doors so they didn’t fly in when I opened it!!
Are you serious with this? Lol. Knocking them off one at time? How is that effective or even remotely efficient? What dilution of neem oil is safe for a peach tree?
Sheeewwww!! Are you "hard of smelling"?! Do you remember that episode of "Seinfeld" where Jerry's car had B.O. from the valet that parked it and Jerry asked Elaine if she smelled something.....to which she replied.... "What am I, hard of smelling?" Pretty funny but...........my sister used to say she didn't smell the stink bug. I finally pissed one off enough to make it smell. To this day she'll tell you how bad they smell! Maybe you haven't agitated one enough yet? :) :)

You are hilarious! A true breath of fresh air. Thanks
I use the vase method for thos "june bug beetles" works great!

Jon Ripley it works best on soft bodied insects
You can take the vase to a toilet and flush them.
Take the glass... Turn on the garbage disposal.. then pour

The soapy water is what I had to do with the Japanese beetles last year. Oh so many....

What was that about the rum making process? Lol
I heard these things hate lavender oil. Which is GREAT news for me!
Spinosad was discovered in an abandoned rub factory
drowning one bug at a time? not sure if this makes a diference
But it's oh soooo satisfying to watch them swim to their lil deaths!! 😆
put it in a garden sprayer and shoot em, works on wasps
I do this every morning. Take my little container with water and soap and if I see one in it goes.
Yes, very stupid advice, need some good poison
What should you do when stink bugs are inside the house. Please respond.
Does Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade work on stink bugs and other pests?
Thank You
They dont fall from a small tap. They latch on like glue
Mine are in my house and make the smell without being bothered and I'm dying over here there coming in my ac units and window there window units

Exactly correct. Bought it, worked the first time, sprayed diligently and they got used to it I guess because they are all back.

Just grab them, they don't bite.
I've been flushing them down the toilet to be rid of them 😆
