Easiest way I have found is a 2 step solution:
Step 1- burn the entire area to the ground
Step 2- move far far away

If technology was better you could just buy a field emitter, basically it's a device of my own that if I made I'd have around 500k in a few weeks maybe, anyway just place the device in your house and tune it to the bug frequency and it puts an invisible barrier around ya house that only bugs can hear, when they enter your zone the field basically fries their brains n they die instantly, maybe I'll call it the windshield 🤣🤣🤣 but yea, it takes as much power as a lamp and can possibly repel larger creatures without death, like messin with a beehive but not as dangerous

I use a similar way to the bottle trick. Get a mason jar with a lid add 1/4 cup of water and a few squirts of soap, Shake well then go push them in. With the soapy bubbles, it traps them and they can't fly out when you open it for the next bug.

I do the same thing with the bottle, just add a little bit of soapy water in the bottle so they die. I used to always have a spray bottle with soapy water around to kill them, now I spray everything with Talstar Pro. Highly recommended it if you are in a state that you can buy without a pesticide license, if not I would definitely try the sprays in the video.

Here are some elaborations for the Gatorade bottle trick. 1. Put a small amount of soapy water in the bottle to drown the bugs and mitigate the stink. (Do this in your shop vacs as well, if you’re vacuuming the stinkers.) 2. For bugs that are beyond your reach - and they do like heights - extend the bottle using vacuum cleaner wands or similar and they will jump down, usually all the way down, but you may need to tap the wand to coax the critter all the way into the bath you have prepared.

I hate stinkbugs, they are so annoying. They don't benefit anything in this world. They crawled all over the interior of my house, upstairs for some reason. They crawled around me, one even got underneath my blanket as I was trying to sleep. Now I am scared of bugs, but for some reason stinkbugs are the scariest bug. That scared the crap out of me. I turned over and I saw a couple staring at me as if I was some threat. Usually I'm fine with 1-2 stinkbugs crawling on a wall every known and then, but this time it was different, especially in winter. It scared the crap out of me, I went in the other room and had a full blown panic attack. Thank you for this video.

We have so many, I found out they were hiding in my oven vent, because whenever I'd cook, they'd come right out from the vent, and fly in my face! So we sealed all the openings on the roof, with tight wire that they can't fit through, but still let's the vents vent.
ALSO! I HAVE A TIP TO ADD! We've been scooping them in a random container since last year like this, just scooping em, but their enemy is dish soap, PLUS it smells better, really you could use any smell-good, because they stink after about ten of em are in there. Always throw out and get new container!

    • @empathy212
      @empathy212 3 года назад

Same!!! I turn on my oven vent and hear ping, ping, ping and smelling them. The worst is they would come in my bathroom through the vent fan. And it's a 3 function setup, combo light, vent fan that sucks air outside and a HEATER fan that blows fresh air into the bathroom!!! So you really get that freshly cooked stink bug experience. Nothing like sitting on the toilet and having a stink bug fall on your head!!! Or taking a shower and hearing that telltale ping, clink, plink as a stink bug decides to join you right as you're washing your hair and can't even open your eyes!

These invasive critters are horrible. My first encounter with one has me terrified of them. I went to capture it and it sprayed my whole arm before hitting the jar I'd put vinegar in. Anywhere it sprayed started to heat up, almost like muscle rub does. I couldn't get the smell off of me for days. Needless to say when I come across one I'm in a panic to grab a jar and capture it.

Awesome advice, thanks so much! I’m definitely going to try to spray the eastern side of my house where they seem to like to hang out (and also where my deck and the most used door into my house is located grrr…). For inside I have found that duct tape works great in addition to the bottle method. I take a piece of duct tape, stick it on the stink bug so they can’t escape and then I thoroughly enjoy folding that tape over knowing that they’re trapped and dying in their own weird stench liquid. When you get good at the technique you can get multiple stink bugs in one “taping”, so satisfying!

That's funny, they like the heat but the eastern side of my house is where the sun is not shining in the afternoon but that's also the side their are millions. Also, I use the two cup method to catch the ones inside, or my wife who is shorter uses a vacuum insense method,

I'm gonna give this a try. I had squash bugs decimate my pumpkin patch. I believe if this works for stinks it should work for squash bugs since they look about the same.

I know this is an older video. But I live on a farm and had a MASSIVE stink bug infestation last fall 2020. They were ALL over my screen porch. It was traumatizing for me to even go outside to feed my horses. I spent an hour every evening just spraying every bug I saw while they would dive bomb me. I couldn't close my eyes at night without having nightmares of seeing them, smelling them and feeling them hitting me as they flew all around me from earlier in the evening outside. I found the best way to kill those bastards was get a 2 Gal commercial pump sprayer, fill with water, some vinegar, and Dr Bronner's peppermint Castile soap and Lavender Castile soap. Pump it up, adjust the wand sprayer and spray every single one of those bastard stink bugs. With the pressure sprayer wand you can create a stream that will reach the top of your house and roof. I found the stink bugs loved gathering and sunning themselves on our nice new architecture shingles roof, particularly 2 of our porch roofs which get the most sun. The shingles are a dark colour close to black. Stink bugs are attracted to darker colours and warm areas. I have found them nesting in the overhang shingles and attic vents. They have even invaded our vehicles!!!! I used to spray permethrin fly spray on them and they would laugh at me, it doesn't penetrate their waxy protective armor. And I was getting the chemicals overspray all over me that are highly toxic to bees and the beneficial fly predators that I release every 3 weeks for fly control for my horses, plus dangerous to my outside barn cats and wildlife. So I did some research. And the absolute BEST and fastest way to kill stink bugs dead is a good concentration of Dr. Bronner's Peppermint and Lavender Castile soap mixed with water. The soap breaks down the waxy protective coating on the bastards and the essential oils kills them quickly and without them releasing their stench. And the overspray from wind and aiming high above your head is just a precursor to your shower. But it is very slippery, especially on wooden porches, decks, stairs etc. I have been spraying every single day this entire year, all around the outside of my house in nooks, crannies, door jams, window sills, attic vents, underneath porches, window shutters, areas I saw stink bugs last year including crevices, air vents, wheel wells, of our vehicles etc. I'm hoping this will have an impact this fall when the buggers emerge, perhaps I killed their offspring and the ones nesting. Time will tell.

I’ve caught hundreds with a Gatorade bottle. Another RUclips channel said that was inhumane, like I care. Last year I put a little gorilla glue in the bottom to keep them from flying out however this year I’ve found a squirt of handsoap does just as well.

I kill stink bugs in the garden using Dawn dish soap and water in a spray bottle like you used for the cedar oil. You must spray the soapy water directly on the bugs to kill them.

Thanks for the great tips . Stink bugs are not much of a problem in my area . Lucky me . I do like the fact that the non toxic stuff kills all kinds of other bugs . Just wondering how do you heat your mobile home in the winter . Thanks .

Everything is toxic if you guzzle enough. If you drink enough water you'll die. Isopropyl alcohol is exceedingly toxic. DDT is far far less toxic to humans than isopropyl alcohol. I don't know where anyone gets this idea that something is "non-toxic" or maybe it's more like if you can't pronounce the chemical name for it and it sound scary it must be bad right? LOL
